“ My king, I must inform you that the prophecy child has mated and gained her wolf. We can feel her powers growing.” my head witch informs me. I slam my hands on the desk, breaking it in half. “ What good are you witches? You haven’t been able to kill her before she got mated. She has been able to remove the spell you put on the wild wolves. You haven’t figured out how to get rid of or dampen her powers. You are useless.I should rip your heads from your pathetic necks.” I yelled. The witches I have can’t do anything right. I don't know why I keep them around. The only thing they have done right is shield my territories.
I get up from my chair and move to stand in front of my head witch. I backhanded her across the face so hard her head flew to the side as she fell. “ My king, I'm sorry we have let you down. Even with my skills it is hard to override the Moon Goddess.” she said. I stepped on her chest ready to crush it. “ Wait, my king. I can’t get rid of her powers but I’m sure I can still dampen them. I just need to get closer to her to know the extent of them.” she groaned as I put weight on her making it difficult to breathe.
I lift some of my weight to let her continue. “ If you can get the child here I can make something to suppress her powers.” she said. “ What about her mating? Can you reverse it?” I asked. I need to know if I can still make Lexi my queen or if I’m going to try and enslave her. My personal slave. “ I don’t know about reversing it but I believe it can be overwritten as long as she mates with two others. She will have to be bitten at the same time so it will cancel out her current marks.” the witch wheezed.
I lifted my foot off of her and stood back. “ Explain.” I demanded. The witch stands up holding her chest. “ My king, but marking her over her existing mark, it should sever the bond she has with her mates. That will allow her to bond with someone else and weaken her mates. When that happens it will be easy to destroy their packs.” she said. I think about what she said. So it may not be too late. I may not have to go to war with her and risk getting her killed. “ And you think this is a viable option?” I asked.
“ If not you can just kill her.” the witch said. That pissed me off to no end. Who is she to tell me what to do? In the blink of an eye I was on her, snapping her neck. I look at the witch that was next to her staring at me with wide eyes. “ You are in charge now. Look into what she said and get back to me. Make sure what you come up with doesn’t hurt Lexi, the prophecy child.Spread the word that Lexi is not to be harmed. We will be bringing her over to our side. I will be making her my queen.” I said. The witch nods “ Yes, my king.” After she rushes out I look at Embrose.
“ What have you learned? You have been trailing her for weeks, you should know something.” I said. “ I learned that she is never alone. She has a guard in her classes with her. And at least two patrolling around at all times.” he said. “ Anything else?” I asked. “ Lexi, looks hot in a pair of jeans. Everyone seems to love her or has nice things to say about her. Most of the guys I have talked to or overheard talking want her. Even some girls. I saw that Lexi never noticed the looks of lust people on campus. She is smart as hell. I listened in on a few classes. She is a dedicated student.” he said.
I swear I could hear pride in his voice. What the fuck? I know I feel pride in her for being serious about her education but he is supposed to be in it for a piece of ass. He isn’t supposed to get invested in Lexi. “ What else?” I asked. I needed to know how we could get Lexi away from her guards. “ Lexi likes to cling to the back of her guardians. You can hear her giggles across the campus.” Embrose said with a smile. A genuine smile. He is interested in Lexi.
“ I meant about being able to get her. Are there any holes in her security? Give me something useful.” I yelled. “ There aren't many. The guys don’t follow her to the bathroom but they do check it first. If the girl guards are there they go in with her.” he said. That could be our in. “ What is the guard schedule?” I asked. “ That is going to be a problem. It isn’t consistent. They keep changing it up.” Embrose said.
Shit. I have to give the mutts credit for taking Lexi safety seriously. “ Find me a loophole. I want it in a week. Lexi gets stronger by the day.” I demanded. “ On it boss,” he said. “ And stop ogling her. You are there to do a job. Stop watching her ass.” I said. “ You take all the fun out of watching her. She has such a fine ass. You see her in yoga pants. They look like they are painted on.” Embrose said as he left. Fuck now he has me picturing her ass and it is making the crotch of my pants tight. I get where Embrose is coming from. I could look at her ass all day.
Embrose needs to find me away to get Lexi without risking her safety or harming her in any way. I will not have my queen harmed. I will kill anyone who hurts her. Once I get all the information I need I will deploy a team to get her and bring her to me. That new witch better come through or she will be dead next. I hate incompetence.I pay them for answers not failures. I am coming for you my queen. Together we will rule the world. You will want for nothing.
