“ What are you doing Kent? Has she warped your mind too?” mom asked. “ Skylyn, open your eyes. The girl is glowing. Think about the stories we have been told growing up. The prophecy child. Just look at her.” dad said. “ No, that is a myth. A legend to give us hope.” mom said. Lexi’s eyes brighten as she looks at my mom. “ I could tell you all day who I am. Who I recently found out who I am but you won’t believe me. You think you are protecting your son. I get that. But trying to lock me up will only hurt him. And I say try because I have enough power in me to take out this entire pack. A cell won’t hold me if I don’t want it to. But I won’t do that. I value the lives of these people too much and I hardly know them. I do know a Luna puts her people first.” Lexi said.
“ I won’t stop the warriors from trying to lock me up because I don’t want to hurt anyone. But you Luna Skylyn are risking all these people's lives. I can guarantee by locking me up you will be starting a war with Riverclaw and Aspen Rain. Even your Gamma’s and Beta won’t fight with you because they are destined to be my guards. Is that what you want? When all you have to do is either trust your son or ask for proof.” Lexi asks. Lexi is speaking like a true Luna. She is putting my pack before herself and trying to talk my mom down.
“ Putting you in a cell would not cause a war. You think too highly of yourself. And what proof could you have?” mom said. “ Skylyn stop or I will lock you up. You are going to get us killed. And our son will lose his mate.” dad yelled at her. “ Mom, you have to stop. I love you but I can’t have you put this pack in danger.” “ Ryan, there is no danger. She is lying. Why can’t you see that.” mom said. Luther steps forward “ I assure you as future Alpha of the Riverclaw pack Lexi isn’t lying. If it is a war you want I will give you one. And I will have the full support of Aspen Rain who’s current Alpha loves Lexi like a daughter and will do anything for her.”
“ Like you have the power to do that.” mom huffed. Luther pulls out his phone, dials and puts it on speaker. Lexi is quickly losing her patience. I know she could kill my mom with the snap of her fingers but she won’t because of me. “ Oh, are you going to make a fake phone call? You don’t even know the Alpha of Aspen Rain.” mom mocked. Mom please shut up. She is making me look bad in front of my mate. “ Aspen Rain Alpha Cline speaking.” a voice comes from Luther’s phone. “ Alpha, this is Luther. There is a situation with Lexi at Iron River pack. If needed, do I have your support to go to war?” Luther asks.
“ Luther, is Lexi alright. What happened to her? I will send all my warriors out as well as her guardians right away. I will stand by you to ensure Lexi’s safety.” Alpha Cline says. Shit he is ready to go to war over Lexi. Lexi knows this too. She smiles but speaks up “ Henry, I am fine for now. The former Luna of this pack doesn’t believe I have two mates, one being her son. Oh and I’m a myth even though I'm standing in front of her glowing. A glow that surrounds her entire training field. She wants the warriors to throw me in a cell.”
“ Does this former Luna have brain damage? Doesn’t she know you could wipe out the pack with the wave of your hand?” Alpha Cline asks. “ I guess not Henry. If this keeps up I’ll have to move on to my next mate because this one can’t see to keep her in line. I can say the same for the former Alpha. I won’t put up with this.” Lexi said. “ Nor should you have to. You are the daughter of the Goddess. You are above them all. I will head that way if you need me. I will challenge the Alpha if I have to and banish the former Luna. If you need me too. But Lexi, I know you hate doing it. I think you need to show your power. That you bow to no one. I will be by your side no matter the decision.” Alpha Cline said.
I was about to lose everything. I have no doubt that those two packs could take out mine and I’m losing all of Lexi’s respect. Lexi looks at me “ Does Alpha Cline need to come here to help me out?” “ This is Alpha Ryan McCallister. No, Alpha Cline, thank you for your support of Lexi. But I will handle this.” I said looking at Lexi. “ You better or you don’t deserve the gift you have been given.” he said. “ Thanks Henry. I will still see you at my birthday party, right?” Lexi asks. Alpha Cline laughs “ Of course my dear. We wouldn’t miss it for the world.”
Luther hangs up and looks at my mom whose mouth is hanging open. There is movement to my side and I see my dad is standing by me. “ Warriors, escort my mom to her room and make sure she stays there. She doesn’t leave until I say otherwise. Mom, you almost created a war because you could see what was right in front of you. You risked hundreds of lives. I can’t have that. And you disrespected my mate. But before you, Lexi would you mind showing my mom just who you are. A little demonstration if you will, please.” I asked her. Lexi smiles, “ Sure babe.”
Lexi raises her head and growls “ Kneel.” Every single person in the pack kneels, including me, Luther, dad and mom. Lexi places her hand on me and Luther letting us get up. “ Is that proof enough or do I need to do more?” Lexi asks. “ I think you have proven enough. Thank you honey.” I said and kissed her cheek. “ Can you release everyone please?” I asked. Lexi waved her hand and everyone was free. A few warriors come forward and escort mom to her room. I tell dad to call the Elders so they can meet Lexi. It is time my pack gets to know my mate.
