Chapter 74

Lexi

I was woken by Luther and Ryan just as we pulled up in front of what looks like a mini castle or stone hotel. Each of the packs I visited have very impressive packhouses. Each is different but no less beautiful and functional. This one was built similar to a four story high end hotel, just made of large gray stones. I stand by the door of the truck looking up at this place. I can almost see lords and ladies walking around. “ Alpha Ryan, this place is amazing. Does it have any history?” I asked. I have always loved old buildings and the history behind them. I see Ryan run his hand down his face. I hear him groan “ I wish I had never said a word.” I know he is talking about me being disrespectful. I won’t call him Alpha for long. I’m just making him suffer a little. It is fun.

“ I’m glad you like it. Yes, this building has a long history that I would be happy to tell you about. But another time. I want to show you and Luther around.” Ryan said. Not the answer I was hoping for but it will do. And I do want to see how his pack members act. Ryan and Luther don’t know this but lately I have been able to tune into people's emotions. So I will be able to detect any fear or disdain.

I notice two things when we enter the pack house is the wide open design. It did look like the lobby of a hotel. The only thing missing was a reception desk. The other thing was the smell of food. It made my mouth water but I know I ate not too long ago. “ Come, I’ll show you around the house first. Then I will give you a tour of my land.” Ryan says, offering me his arm. I take his arm with one hand and Luther’s hand with the other. That last tour I was given my piece of crap last mate stayed behind me. I didn’t want that for Luther. I wanted him by my side. I want both my mates at my side. No matter where we go we should stand as a united front.

Tyler and Isabelle followed behind us. I haven’t asked them about their decision after they talked to the Elders. I wanted them to have some time to absorb what they heard. I feel sure they would tell me their decision when they were ready. But right this minute I was going to pull rank. I looked over my shoulder “ Guys, unless you always follow Alpha Ryan you can go do what it is you do. I’m sure you have seen the pack hundreds of times.” Tyler answers first “ No we don’t normally follow Alpha around. But I’m not leaving. I’m going to do my job, my queen.”

I let go of Ryan and turned around to face Tyler. “ Does that mean you have made your decision? You can have more time.” I asked. Tyler shook his head “ I don’t need more time. After listening to what the Elders told me I figure I have received the greatest honor the Goddess can give besides a mate. I’m not about to go against her.” I walk up to him and grab his hands. I have this glow I do when I accept a guardian. I don’t control it and it only happens to a guardian. It is like I’m formally accepting them and them me. I can almost feel the Goddess and my wolf with me when I do this.

I let my glow flow from me to Tyler. I know the innstant he feels it because his eyes got huge. I can hear my voice change a bit when I spoke “ Thank you Tyler. You honor me with your service.” “ Umm, Luther. What is Lexi doing? Should I be worried?” I heard Ryan ask. I just kept my eyes focused on Tyler. I feel like I could see into his heart to see the person Tyler truly is. “ Relax, Alpha. Think of it as a blessing.” Luther said.

“ You have sacrificed so much of your life to serve Alpha Ryan. It hasn’t gone unnoticed and you will be rewarded. The Goddess chose you but I gave you a choice and you chose to stick by my side. I am grateful.” I said. Just as I was about to pull my glow back I heard a new voice ask “ Whoa who is the glowing chick?” I heard growling as Tyler dropped to one knee and bowed his head. “ My queen.” Tyler said. I giggled “ How about we stick with Lexi for now.” Tyler stood and smiled “ Lexi it is.”

“ Does anyone want to explain why Tyler is calling this lady queen. And why was she glowing a light blue a second ago?” the new voice asked. I turned to look at him. Damn are there any ugly shifts? This guy was at least six foot tall with jet black hair that was shaved close to his head. Light brown eyes, angled jaw with five o’clock shadow. Muscles everywhere. Even with the jagged scar running from his ear to his neck he was still a handsome man. Not as handsome as my Luther or Ryan but good looking nonetheless.

Ryan held out his hand to me and I went to him. “ Jake, meet Lexi, my mate.” Ryan said. Ryan pointed to Luther “ And her other mate Alpha Luther from Riverclaw.” “ Lexi, Luther, this is my head Gamma Jake.” Ryan said. I looked Jake over and added “ And my potential third guardian.” Jake holds his hand out to me “ It is a pleasure to meet you, Luna.” I shook his hand “ It is nice to meet you Gamma Jake. And it is just Lexi for now.” I said.

“ I still have questions. Like how this hottie got stuck with Ryan? And why does she glow? And this guardian thing? And two mates? I have never heard of that. And?” Jake rambled. I held up my hand to stop him from going further. “ Gamma Jake I’m sure you have tons more questions. Why don’t you come with us? I was promised a tour. We will all explain as much as we can.” I giggled. I turn to Ryan “ Alpha Ryan we need to meet with your Elders soon as well so they can begin working with Luther’s Elders.”

Ryan grumbled “ I will Lexi, but first could you stop calling me Alpha. Normally I don’t have a problem with people calling me by my title. But with you it feels weird.” Now it is time to have a little fun. I wink at Luther letting him know I am up to no good. I tap my chin like I’m thinking. “ Hmm, what do I get if I stop calling you Alpha?” “ Whatever you want. You are right. We are equals, you shouldn’t call me Alpha.” Ryan said. “ Okay, I will stop for a kiss.” I said. My request caught Ryan off guard, he muttered “ You want me to kiss you.”

“ Well, I do need to see if we are compatible. You could be a lousy kisser and that won’t work for me. So if you want me to stop calling you Alpha, kiss me.” I hardly get the last word out before Ryan yanks me to his chest. “ Oh honey I’m about to prove to you I’m not a lousy kisser.” he said before he slammed his lips on mine. The mating sparks ignite every cell in my body. Just as intensely as it does when Luther kisses me. Aiden’s spark was never like this. Ryan runs his fingers through my hair holding me in place as he licks my bottom lip.

Just when I think he is going to deepen the kiss Ryan pulls back. He places his head on mine. “ I will give you a proper kiss later. I promise. I know you felt it, we are compatible. I’m not like Aiden and I will prove to you that the Goddess doesn’t need to activate the other mate.” he said. “ I look forward to it. Now how about that tour and you need to explain some things to your Gamma.” I said.
