Chapter 60

Luther
I watched Lexi rest. I can take my eyes off of her. She is so beautiful. And I saw what she could do today and how she took charge. And the worry she had for the warriors and the wolves. “ She is going to be a great Luna.” Diesel said. “ I couldn’t agree more.” I said. While watching Lexi I notice her body starts to glow and pulse different colors and her eyes move rapidly under her lids. I have seen this happen a few times when she dreams. This time seems a little different but I can’t put my finger on it. I’ll have to ask her when she wakes. Lexi scoots closer to me and curls up. Aiden looks over at her “ Is that normal? She didn’t do it last night.” I stroke her back and answer “ It happens sometimes when she dreams. I keep meaning to ask her about it.”

Lexi sleeps for about two hours before she starts stirring. I kissed the top of her head “ Hey,baby. How are you feeling?” Lexi turns this way and that then stretches like a cat. If I wasn’t worried about her I would think it was sexy as hell the way she arched her back. “ It is still sexy even if we are worried.” Diesel purrs. I don’t say a word but focus on Lexi. She smiles “ I feel good. No aches at all.” “ Are you sure?” Aiden asked. Lexi looks over at him but the look on her face is odd.I don’t know what to make of it. I will have to ask her when we are alone. Something tells me she won’t talk about it in front of him. “ Yes, I’m sure.” she said.

“ So what do you want to do now? We still have the day off of training.” I asked. Lexi pops up and sits against the headboard. “ I would like to check on the warriors first and then I need to talk to the Elders.” She said. “ Anything wrong?” I asked on alert. Lexi shakes her head but looks confused. “ It has something to do with the dream I just had. If it is alright with you I would like to explain it to everyone at once.” she said. “ Sure baby. I understand. Do you want just the Elders or my parents too?” Lexi thinks about it for a second. She always taps her cheek when she is deep in thought. “ You know what. You better gather them all. Can you link them for me?” she asked.

“ Sure baby.” I said. Lexi giggled as she got off the bed. “ What’s so funny?” I asked. Lexi heads to the bathroom and looks over her shoulder. “ I like it when you call me that.” she says as she closes the door. I shake my head and laugh. I look over at Aiden and ask “ You hanging around?” I asked. “ Yea, I want to know what is going on.” he said. I link my parents and the Elders explaining what Lexi asked. Lexi comes out of the bathroom and I ask “ You ready?” Lexi bounces and nods. It is nice to see her have energy again. I grab her hand and we walk out with Aiden beside us but I notice he isn’t holding her hand.

I take Lexi to the field where the warriors and her guardians are. None of their injuries were serious, already healing so I had them meet us out here. When we stand in front of them Lexi bows. My warriors are shocked. They are all looking at each other wondering what to do. Noone has ever bowed to them. When Lexi stands she looks at all of them and I see her project her glow out. I can feel it. This one is new. I feel gratitude coming from her and it is aimed at them. I see my warriors, Beta and Gammas stand taller.

“ Thank you warriors and my guardians. I’m sorry I don’t know all of your names yet or I would have thanked you individually. I understand this is what you have trained for. But I am honored that you stepped in to not only help you future Alpha and a visiting Alpha but myself as well. You didn’t know what you were facing and came to our aid anyway risking yourselves. And thank you for helping in the aftermath. I’m relieved to see none of you were seriously injured.” Lexi said. “ Unfortunately, I believe we have to call for your service more in the future. As much as I wish it wasn’t happening, something is coming. Something evil. But I vow to you. I will be fighting beside you when the time comes. And we will win. I see big changes coming and I will prepare with you. I just ask for one thing.” Lexi says. I see the warriors hanging on every word. Hell, so am I wondering where she is going with this.

“ Don’t forget to live. When you aren’t training or working, live. Enjoy your life. Have fun.” Lexi said. I watch in shock as my warriors and guardians bow to Lexi and say “ You honor us Luna.” They don’t pay me any mind. They focus on Lexi. She just won everyone over just being who she is. Lexi laughs “ Okay enough of that. Go back to what you were doing before I disturb you.” making a shooing motion. They all laugh and go on their way. Dean, Freya and Scott come over. Scott does an exaggerated bow and says in a horrible english accent “ My queen, may I escort you to the Elders.”

Lexi laughs and says in a southern accent that she pulls off “ Why kind sir, I would be delighted.” She winks at me and takes his arm. Lexi grabs Freya’s arm and they skip towards the packhouse laughing. And yes it was an actual skip. Aiden, Dean and I follow, laughing our ass off at them. Dean, Freya, Scott and I mess around all the time but it is good to see them not only accepting Lexi but able to goof off with her too. I can see the friendship forming between them. And watching her ass bounce isn’t bad either.

When we get to the conference room I shut the door and make my way over to Lexi who is on the love seat. I pull her on my lap so Aiden can sit beside us. “ Lexi, Luther said you asked to meet us.” my dad said. “ Yes, Evan. Thank you.” Lexi said. She went on to explain the dreams she had in the past and the time at the lake when she heard a woman’s voice talking to her. “ That brings me to the dream I had earlier. It was the same voice and warm glow. She said that changes were coming and I needed to listen to my heart and my wolf to make a hard choice. But she said I won’t fully have my wolf yet, but I will be able to feel her. And she will be with me when I make the choice. It felt like a warning. But I don’t get the feeling it is about the war itself.” Lexi said.

“ Lexi, did the voice say anything else?” Morris asked. Lexi nods “ She umm, that she would see me soon. Never doubt myself. And she is watching over me. So what do you think about the dreams?” “ Lexi, I think it may be the Goddess talking to you. She can’t do it through your wolf yet so she is using your dreams to help guide you.” Xavier said. “ I remember being taught about her. She created all the shifters to protect the humans.” Lexi said. “ Yes, and you are her direct descendant. You are her blood so she is able to communicate with you more.” Picard said.

“ So you are saying I should listen to what she said. How will I know when my wolf is with me to make this choice?” Lexi asked. “ Lexi, your wolf has come forward a few times already. I believe some mediation where you focus on the difference, we might be able to get you to recognise when she is with you.” Zander said. “ Thank you Elder Zander.” she said. I’m worried as to what might be coming that Lexi has to make a choice. “ Now for the next thing. Have you looked at the wolves yet?” Lexi asked.

My dad nods “ Yes. They are normal wolves like you suspected. We believe that there is witchcraft involved.” “ A spell. To control them.” Lexi said. “ Possibly, yes.” Picard said. “ I’m sorry Elder Picard. It isn’t a possibility, it is a fact. That was the other thing the voice said. She said they were spelled but could be released. Do you have someone that could help?” Lexi asked. “ We do know a few witches that could help but I think you can as well.” dad said. Lexi cocked her head. “ How so?” she asked.

“ We talked with the warriors and they said that you made a connection with one of the wolves. We think you can use it to help the wolves.” Dad said. I remember what they were talking about. He had watched through Diesel's eyes as Lexi talked to a small wolf that she had suspended in the air. She was talking to it like you would a scared child. “ I will help out in any way I can but I have to be honest. I don’t know what I did or how to do it again.” Lexi said. “ How about we all go visit them and see what happens? Picard will call a witch we know and see if she is willing to help.” dad said. Lexi nodded.

My dad, Lexi, Aiden and the guardians head down to where my dad put the wild wolves. “ Evan, why did you want to keep them outside?” Lexi asked. “ Since they are wild it didn’t feel right to put them in a cell with silver bars.” Dad said. “ That makes sense.” Lexi said. Dad led us around the side of the packhouse towards the woods where there was a row of five large metal cages with two wolves in each. Each wolf was in horrible shape. They had patches of missing fur. They were so skinny I could see the outline of their ribs and back bone. Old wounds that looked infected.Even in the wild they should have healed better than what they are.

Lexi gasped when she saw them. “ Oh, heavens. Evan, can we get them some food and medical care? Even when we get the spell off of them we can’t release them back into the wild like this. They will never survive.” “ Yes, Lexi. We will do what we can to get them better.” dad said. I know he hated seeing Lexi sad. So did I and if helping these wolves made her happy I would help. “ Why are you worried about them? Just figure out the spell so we can figure out who sent them, then kill them.” Aiden said. What the fuck? Did Aiden not see how upset Lexi got just by looking at them.
