Chapter 128

Luther

When the door opens you can hear the music. As we walk past the bounce he bows to Lexi “ My queen.” Lexi nods and walks inside. We have to walk through a dimly lit hallway for about ten feet before arriving at the club's main part. The closer we get the stronger the smell of other shifters gets. This place reeks of shifters. And I don’t think it is all wolves. There are other scents I can’t pick out because I have never come across them before. Lexi asked us not long ago that if there are other shifters out there why haven’t we seen them? I didn’t have a good answer for her. Neither did Ryan, my dad, or even Grandpa. All I could think is it is just how things have been. Lexi did not like that answer at all. She said that it was complete bullshit and that we were doing more harm than good by isolating ourselves.

At the end of the hall, it opened up to a large room the size of a ballroom. It was dark except for the various colored strobe lights going all over the place. It could really bother your eyes. But with the way the lights were moving, you didn’t notice Lexi glowing if you weren’t looking. So she will blend in better. That will be good for her. Once we all walked further into the club Lexi, Ryan, and I stopped and looked around. Freya and the girls formed a protective line behind us. There were people dancing, grinding against each other on the dance floor. To the left is a packed bar that goes all the way to the far wall with three bartenders working. The smells, the loud music, and the lights were all a bit much for me. This is why I didn’t go to clubs anymore.

I just hoped Lexi didn't want to do this often. Ryan looks like he feels the same way. Lexi is looking around with mild curiosity but not overly enthusiastic. She may like it today but I don’t see her begging us to come out too much. Our Lexi is more of a homebody. One of the things I love about her. She would rather stay in the company of her pack than out partying. “ There is my queen.” I hear Jesse say. We look towards the bar and see Jesse, Jackson, Dean, Scott, Jake, Melissa’s mate, and a few other warriors from Aiden’s. Lexi squeals runs at them, and jumps into Jesse’s open arms. He picks her up and spins her around making Lexi laugh. He sets her down on her feet and Lexi gives him a big hug before moving on to Jackson, giving him one too.

“ I have missed you guys.” Lexi playfully whined. It hasn’t been that long since she has seen them, a week maybe but she still doesn’t like it. Lexi is still very close to the guardians from Aidens pack. I don’t see that ever-changing. And I don’t want it to. It is part of who she is and they were blessed by the Goddess herself so they could still protect her even though they don't have to. When Lexi is done with Jesse and Jackson she goes over to greet the others and they come over and greet Ryan and me. “ Come, let’s get you guys a drink?” Jackson said grasping my shoulder gives me a gentle shove. “ You heard the man.” Jesse chuckled. “ We are under strict instructions from our Luna and yours to make sure our queen has a good time. So we figure it goes for the future kings as well.” Jesse laughed as we made our way to the bar.

Since we aren’t driving I order a Bane’s beer. Think Miller light but strong enough for a shifter. It is brewed by a local pack. And only sold to packs or clubs like this. Ryan gets a Wolfenmyer and Coke. Wolf whiskey. I watch as Freya helps Lexi. A bartender leans over and looks at Lexi and winks. “ I am at your service, pretty lady. What can I do for you?” he said. He is clearly flirting and I want to growl and rip the guy's head off. Ryan stops me as I take a step. “ Watch.” he said. Lexi swept her hair over her shoulder to expose her mating mark, then she let her eyes glow and smirked. “ My mates are at my service any time I want but you could give me a Sprite,” Lexi said sliding some money on the bar. The guy damn near jumps back away from Lexi and bows his head. “ Yes, my queen,” he says and runs to get her drink.

The girls and the warriors bust up laughing at the guy's reaction. So did I. She quickly put that guy in his place and Ryan and I didn't have to shed any blood. Lexi looks over at us and blows us a kiss. I see that word of Lexi has gotten out to everyone that hasn’t had a chance to meet her. I know Lexi will get on that soon. Jackson wraps his arm around my shoulder. “ We got a couple of booths in the VIP section on the second floor. It has a good view of the dance floor so Lexi can people-watch,” he says and leads us towards a staircase I didn’t see until now. Lexi will never admit it out loud but people watching is a guilty pleasure of hers. She says it helps her figure out the true person instead of what they show when people are watching. She gets a good read on people when she does it. As a Luna and Queen is a handy skill.

I look over towards Lexi so she can go up with us. I see her jump on a warrior's back “ Yeah, Mason back rides.” Lexi giggles. Everyone climbs the stairs two at a time. Mason has Lexi in front of us giving Ryan and me a great view of Lexi’s ass. “ Having fun so far, honey?” Ryan asks. Lexi looks over her shoulder at us and giggles “ Mason travel. The only way to climb stairs in heels.” When we get upstairs we all spread out into four booths. Four people per booth. Lexi, Ryan, and I are sitting with Jesse. I get the feeling that everyone is going to play musical booths through the night so they can all talk to Lexi. I don't have a problem with that. I know Ryan and I can't keep Lexi to ourselves all the time. She is the queen after all. We chat for a few minutes when a waitress came to our table. A wolf and I'm pretty sure an omega but it is hard to tell with all the scents in here. " Can I get you anything?" the girls asked. I noticed out of the corner of my eye that Lexi is watching her. Ryan waved the girl off saying he was good. I had about half a beer and knew it would be a pain in the ass to go get one for myself in a little while so I ordered another from her.

Lexi leans forward and places some money on the girl's tray " That is to make sure we don't forget to tip you. Second, what do we have to do for you to be our waitress for the rest of the night?" Lexi asks. The girl looks shocked at first then she collects herself. " I would have to ask my boss but I don't think it would be a problem." the girl says. " I have a better idea. Bring me your boss and I will ask him myself." Lexi said. " I'll get him after I have checked on everyone else." the girls said and went to check the other booths. " Lexi, what are you up to? I saw you eyeing the waitress." Ryan asked. " Nothing. I was eyeing her to see if she was going to do her job or flirt. She did her job so I want her to take care of my people tonight." Lexi said. I can't help but smile at my girl.
