Luther
“ Are you kidding me? They are innocent victims in this just like me, my parents, and my birth pack. I’m going to help them. They deserve as much. They deserve to live their lives as nature intended.” Lexi growled at Aiden, glaring at him. Lexi turned back to the cages ignoring Aiden. I have to admit Lexi looked hot when she was mad. And I like that she was pissed at Aiden. “ You always think she is hot.” Diesel said. “ Can’t help it. She is.” I said. “ True.” Diesel laughed. Lexi walked over to a cage and squatted down.
A wolf stood up and came to the front of the cage. It looked like the one Lexi had floating in the air earlier. “ I’m not sure what to do?” Lexi said. “ When you did it earlier you just reacted. Try not to think about it and just let it happen.” I told her. All the other wolves growled and charged at the cage sides but the one Lexi was standing in front of. I wanted to yank her back but I knew the wolves couldn’t get out. I had to let her do her thing.
“ Hey, little guy. Do you remember me?” Lexi asked. The wolf kept his eyes on Lexi but slowly moved forward. “ That’s right. I’m not going to hurt you.” Lexi told the wolf as she sat on the ground in front of the cage. Too close for my liking. The wolf could still reach through and swipe at Lexi. But I felt no aggression from it. Lexi’s glow turned light blue and I watched as she pushed it to the wolf and around him. I could feel it. Lexi was trying to comfort the wolf. “ We only want to help you.” Lexi said her eyes brightened as she looked into the wolf's eyes.
Luther watched as the wolf relaxed. “ Evan, he is afraid. But not of me. And I feel something but I don’t know what it is.” Lexi said. “ What does it feel like?” Morris asked. Lexi let her eyes glow brighter. “ Evil. Pure evil.” Lexi whispered. Lexi reached her hand through the bars. I reached to stop her but his dad stopped him shaking his head. He pointed to Lexi and mouthed ‘look.’ The wolf lowered his head and allowed Lexi to touch him. “ It is going to be alright. We are going to take good care of you.”Lexi said, as she wrapped her glow around him.
The wolf rubbed his head against her and whimpered. Diesel was getting pissed. “ That wolf is touching mate.” he growled. “ Easy buddy. She is trying to help it. Nothing more.” I reminded him. Lexi must have sensed something because she turned her head to me. “ I’m still yours, Diesel. I’m just making a new friend.” she said, and winked. That calmed him down. “ Evan, do you think you can open the cage?” she asked.
“ Lexi, I’m not sure that is a good idea.” Dad said. Lexi looks sad but nods. “ I understand.” she said. She scoots closer to the cage so she can scratch the wolf’s head. I see it reach a paw out and we all tense ready to jump but all it does is place it on Lexi’s leg. It lays its head down and closes its eyes. “ That’s right, little guy. Just rest. We will get you better before you know it.” Lexi says and starts to hum. I look at the other cages since I no longer hear any noise coming from them and see all the wolves are laying down sleeping. I didn’t notice before but all the cages are glowing. I just watched my mate put ten wild wolves to sleep like they were children.
“ Mate will be a good mother to our pups.” Diesel purred. I see everyone watching in shock. We all watch as Lexi hums for a few minutes more before she carefully removes the paw from her leg and places it back in the cage. I hear the wolf whimper but Lexi rubs its head and shushes it. She stands up as quietly as possible and walks towards the pack house before she speaks. Like she is afraid to wake the wolves. “ Morris, Evan, I get the feeling that these wolves are young. No more than three years old. Whoever is doing this to them is picking them young so they are easier to control.” she said.
When no one answered she looked at all of us and asked “ What?” I know we are all looking at her in awe. “ Is there anything you can’t do?” Morris asked. “ Huh?” Lexi asked not understanding. “ Lexi, you comforted those wolves and put them to sleep like they were little kids.” Dean said. “ Still not getting the big deal.” Lexi said. “ I have never seen anything like that before.” Freya said. “ I was just trying to help.” Lexi said. “ And you did.” dad said.
“ I want to know if you have lost your mind? Do you know how dangerous that was? That wolf could have hurt you given how close you were.” Aiden yelled. What the fuck is his problem? “ Aiden, calm down. I was never in any danger. I know that one wolf won’t hurt me. I can feel it.” Lexi told him. I could even see there was no danger. “ You can’t know for sure. You need to stay away from them until they can be killed.” Aiden snapped. “ We are not killing them.” Lexi screamed, making Aiden step back. Lexi shakes her head.
“ It isn’t your decision to make. Alpha Evan and the Elders will decide what is the best course of action. After they are evaluated. Not you. And I’m done talking about this with you. You are a guest in this pack. You have no right to make demands.On them or me.” Lexi said. I love how feisty she is. “ I’m your mate. You need to listen to me.” Aiden growled. That caused all of us to growl at him. How dare he growl at Lexi? “ First of all, don't ever try to command me. I haven’t accepted your claim yet. I have only accepted one mate so far. And the way you are acting I may never. The only reason you are here is because of Razor. If I could separate him from you to keep him I would. Because he is stuck with an asshole for a human.” Lexi yelled.
Aiden looks shocked by what she said. What did he expect? Lexi shook her head and looked at me “ Luther, I would like to go inside. I need a snack and relax.” “ Dad, are we done for now?” I asked. “ Yea, son. Take Lexi inside.” dad said. I wrapped my arm around Lexi’s waist and took her inside. I heard my dad say “ Aiden, I think you need to leave. You have disrespected us and Lexi and I’m not having it.” Good, he needs to get out of here. I have a feeling the change Lexi was told about has something to do with Aiden.
