Chapter 48

Aiden

After we got some food in Lexi she seemed to perk up. She was still tired but she looked better. Alpha Riverclaw gave Luther and Lexi the day off of training so Lexi could rest. I linked my parents and let them know what was going on. I told them I was staying with Lexi as long as I could. They told me to take all the time I needed to make sure Lexi was getting better. Mom said she was going to get our doctor to call Dr. Clarence to get a copy of Lexi’s new diet and make sure our staff has a copy. They are holding out hope that Lexi will be part of our pack. So am I. Neither Luther or Lexi have run me off yet so I’m taking it as a good sign.

Luther led us to their games room. There was a pool table, and a foosball table on one side of the room. On the other there was a big screen tv with multiple different games systems. Luther brought us over to a large couch that could seat six. There were two other couches that could fit three people. Lexi hasn’t let go of my hand since we left the kitchen. And it doesn’t look like she is going to let go anytime soon. I will let her hold it as long as she wants to. I wish she never lets go. Jesse and Freya still haven’t left Lexi's side and are now sitting on one of the other couches.

Luther pulls up netflix and hands Lexi the remote. “ Alpha Luther, Meliisa and Jackson want permission to come by and check on Lexi.” Jesse says. “ Tell them to come on. I’ll notify the guards to let them in.” Luther says. Jesse nods and links them. Lexi lifts her head off of Luther’s shoulder “ What do you want to watch?” she asks. Luther kisses the top of her head “ Pick anything you want.” I wonder if I will ever be able to do something like that with her. Lexi looks over at me. “ What about you?” she asks. “ As long as you rest I don’t care.” I told her. It was the truth and by letting her pick it can help me see what she likes.

I don’t know why but I was surprised when she put on the Avengers. I see Jesse smiling out of the corner of my eye. He links me “ Lexi loves superhero movies. We have had some interesting debates on who is the better hero.” I have to hold back a chuckle. Jesse is big into superheroes. I swear he has an action figure of all of them. I can just imagine the arguments those two have had. We are about ten minutes into the movie when Jackson and Melissa are brought in. Melissa knees down in front of Lexi. “ Are you alright my Luna?” she asks. Lexi gives a tired smile. “ Melissa we have been over this. You don’t need to call me that. At least not yet and not in private. And yes, I am fine. I just need a little rest and a bunch more food.” Lexi said.

Jackson kneels “ Can we get you anything?” Lexi places a hand on each of theirs “ I am well taken care of. Thank you. No need to worry. Sit, watch the movie with us. Luther promised popcorn soon.” They waste no time grabbing a seat after introducing themselves to Freya. We are all immersed in the movie. Lexi had leaned over putting her head on Luther’s shoulder. I thought it would bother me but it didn’t. Do I wish she would lean on me? Yes. Almost as if Lexi could tell what I was feeling, she placed her legs in my lap. Lexi is trying to not let me feel left out. I like it.

I figure this is some of what our future is going to look like. Sometimes her head will be on me and Luther will get her feet. Sometimes I will get all of her. Same with Luther. I can live with that. I scent a strange wolf and see an unknown she-wolf walk in. No big deal right. Wrong. This she-wolf is dressed in a skirt so short I can see her panites. Her shirt is black see through lace. I can see her red bra. It is so sheer. Every move she makes screams pack slut.She sits on the arm of the couch by Luther and puts her arm on his shoulder. Is she fucking stupid? Can she not see Lexi sitting right there? Jesse, Melissa, Jackson are sitting there with their eyes wide open watching. I can feel Lexi’s relaxed attitude change to on alert.

Lexi doesn’t move but is watching every move the girl and Luther make. The girl runs her hand up and down Luther’s arm. “ Hey Luther. A bunch of us are going out and I wanted to see if you wanted to come.” she says. Luther removes her hand. “ I already have plans,” he says, pointing to the tv. That isn’t enough for the girl. She leans in and whispers in Luther’s ear “ Come on, Luther. You have been working so hard lately getting ready to take over. You need to relax. I can help with that. I can make you feel good like I used to. We were good together. You know that.”

Before I can blink, Lexi is up and pushing the girl away from Luther. “ Back off.” Lexi growls. I see her glow. The same glow I saw at the restaurant when that girl was hitting on me. This is not good. The girl gets up in Lexi’s face. Oh shit. Freya, Jesse, Jackson, Melissa and I stand up behind Lexi. I see Freya is linking someone. “ Who do you think you are? You can’t tell me what to do.” the girl growls. Lexi’s eyes go from bright aqua green to dark blue and so does her glow. She stares at the girl for a minute before she repeats “ Back off. He is mine.” The girl laughs putting her hand on Luther’s shoulder.

“ I don’t know who you think you are, but Luther is with me. You have no claim to him.” the she wolf says. Lexi looks at Luther and goes even darker blue. She is at navy blue right now. I feel the rage and hurt flowing out of her. It is fueling Jesse, Jackson, Freya and Melissa. Luther finally gets the hint that shit is getting bad and jumps up. “ Calm down, Lexi. It’s not what you think.” he says. Well, that was the wrong thing to say. Lexi turns her full rage on Luther. “ Defending your whore are you? Stand down.” she growls. Luther sits down and bows his head in submission. The order was directed at Luther but we all bow including the she wolf.

“ What did you do you, bitch? You can’t order him around like that.” the she wolf growls. The hold Lexi had on her wore off. The only one still feeling it is Luther. “ But I can.” Lexi growls. “ Release him. Now.” the girl growls. Freya and Lexi’s guardians are advancing, growling at the girl. “ No.” Lexi said. The girl see’s Freya and smiles. “ You are in trouble now. Luther’s gamma is going to kick your ass.” Lexi let’s out a menacing laugh “ She can try. But she won’t. She can’t and Freya knows it.” That is when I notice it isn’t Lexi, but her wolf. The girl loses her smile when she sees Freya stand beside Lexi. “ What have you done? You bitch. If they won’t beat your ass I will. You can’t tell my man what to do.” the girl screeches then launches herself at Lexi.

Before any of us can react the girl is slung across the room. She hits the middle of the wall with a loud thud. She slid down the wall and hit the floor in a daze. The girl had to have flown five feet. Lexi hasn’t moved. I don’t think she even laid a hand on the girl. If she did it was too fast to see. The she- wolf charges again when her head is clear. Well, I don't think she has cleared it because she has a death wish. Before the girl can reach Lexi Melissa and Freya grab her by her shoulder digging their claws in and slamming her to the ground.

The girl screams “ Let me go. Do you know who I am? I’m Luther’s mate. Your future Luna.” Is she fucking kidding with this shit? “ You aren’t my Luna. What about you Freya?” Melissa asks. “ Not mine either.” Freya says. Lexi glares at Luther before turning her eyes to the girl. Lexi lifts her hand “ Pain.” she growls before pulling into a tight fist. The she wolf screams and starts thrashing in the girls’ hold. How is Lexi doing that? Is this one of her gifts? Lexi continues for a minute before she opens her hand.

The girl stops screaming and tries to catch her breath. “ Luther baby. Make her stop whatever she is doing.” she whines. “ You're the Alpha. Control her.” the girl says to Luther. This girl doesn’t know when to shut up. Before anyone can say anything the doors open and Alpha and Luna come walking in. “ What is going on in here?” Alpha asks. Luna takes one look at Lexi and gasps. “ Alpha thank the Goddess you are here. These people just attacked me for no reason.” the girl says. Freya and Melissa let the girl up but stay close. “ You are going to pay for this Freya. The Alpha and Luther are going to make you pay for what you did to me.” the girl says as she goes over to Luther. She wraps her arm around his waist. Or tries.

Luther is smart enough to move out of her reach. “ Lady, you have know idea who you are pissing off. I would keep your hands of Luther if I were you.” Jesse snarls. “ You can’t talk to me that way. You aren’t even from this pack. Shut it mutt.” the girl says. O look away from the girl and see Scott and Dean have now join us. Or Lexi because they are all standing around her in a protective stance. The she-wolf that is causing trouble looks at the Alpha “ I swear I didn’t do anything wrong. I was just talking to Luther. Then she attacked me.” “ Is that true, Lexi? Did you attack a member of my pack without cause?” Alpha asked.
