Chapter 83
Luther
Today is finally the day. The day I can make Lexi my mate and mark her. But that is for later tonight. We have to get through Lexi’s birthday party first. As much as I would like to lock her in my room all night and have my way with her I can. I won’t deny her her party and I know that I have to share her with Ryan. But I don’t have a problem with that. I have paid close attention to him and I’m convinced he is going to right by Lexi. And I can see the three of us ruling together. I have only seen Lexi once today and it is driving me and Diesel nuts.
My mom had her doing some last minute preparations then gave her and the female guardians a spa day. Then my mom was going to take the girls to her place to get ready. Even Luna Cline is here to help out. Luna Cline said she wasn’t letting her son take Lexi from her. I’m all for extra people looking out for Lexi. And Luna Cline is a sweet lady. I like her. When we introduced Ryan as Lexi’s second mate she hugged him and welcomed him. Ryan was shocked at first but hugged her back and said thank you.
“ Is it just me or is Lexi’s scent stronger today?” Ryan asked. We were in my room with our father’s, getting dressed. I shake my head. “ No you aren’t crazy. At first I thought it was because she was lying on my chest this morning. But it is all over the house stronger than ever.” I said. “ Stone has been whimpering wanting to go to her.” Ryan said. I laugh “ I have been walking around with a hard on all day and Diesel bouncing up and down.” I finish buttoning my light blue dress shirt. Ryan has a teal dress shirt. We decide to have our shirts match Lexi’s happy glows. “ I suggest you boys get your wolves under control and your dicks down. You don’t want to walk into this party at half mast.” my dad laughs.
I grab my black suit jacket that goes with my black pants. Ryan is dressed the same way. Just as I put my jacket on my dad comes over. He grabs the collar of my shirt and adjusts it. “ I’m proud of you son. Lexi is an incredible girl and I don’t mean because she is the Goddess’s daughter. I’m talking about the girl beneath all of that. The one that fell asleep on the desk the other night trying to study pack laws.” dad said. “ Or the girl that gets so excited over fresh baked cookies she bounces up and down and giggles.” Alpha Kent laughs. “ Or the girl that lets the pups chase and catch her even though she is faster than them.” dad said, as he finished with my collar.
“ The sweet girl that treats everyone as if they are equals from the lowest rank to the highest.” Alpha Kent said. He was looking at Ryan but I feel like he was talking to the both of us. Same with my dad. “ I adjust my jacket. “ I know dad. I know how lucky I am.” I told him. And that is the truth. I know how blessed I am. “ So do I, dad. Lexi is amazing.” Ryan said. “ I’m proud of you for waiting for you mate son. I know it took awhile but you didn’t give up.” Alpha Kent said. “ Lexi was worth the wait.” Ryan said. I have to agree.
“ We want to give one word of advice.” my dad said. Alpha Kent said “ When you complete the mating tonight. Mate with Lexi the person. Not the Goddess child.” “ Dad, I know to everyone, Lexi is the Goddess child, but when we are alone. She is just Lexi. That is who I am mating tonight.” Ryan said. “ What he said.” I told them. “ Good. Now let’s get you boys downstairs. Your mother and Luna Cline have been playing hostess to the arriving packs.” dad said.
Ryan grabs his jacket and pulls it on. “ I forgot to ask. How many packs are supposed to be coming?” he asks. “ Twenty packs have been confirmed. But it is just the current Alpha and Luna.The future Alpha and Luna if they have one. And the present and future Betas and Gammas.” dad said. Damn that is a lot of people coming to meet Lexi. I look at Ryan and know he is thinking the same thing. Dad and Alpha Kent must have caught on. “ Don’t worry about Lexi. Kent and I will be escorting her down. The guardians will be lining the steps on either side.” dad said.
“ Dad, I'm not worried about Lexi’s safety.” I said. Ryan chimed in, “ We are worried about her being overwhelmed by all those people.” “ That is a simple fix. You boys know her better than anyone. Pay attention to her body language and glow. And always have someone with her for comfort if she needs it.” Kent said. We agree then head out to help my mom and Luna Cline. You might be wondering where Ryan’s mom is. Ryan left her in his pack. He still hasn’t talked to her much and didn’t want her around Lexi to ruin her special day. I don’t think he has forgiven her yet. I don’t care if I never see that woman again. And I’m not going to think about her now. I need to get downstairs and make sure my mate has the best night.
When we get downstairs we search out my mom and Luna Cline. We find them greeting people. Ryan and I head over. Mom and Luna Cline introduce us to another pack from our area. The Snowcap pack. Their Alpha Cameron and a very pregnant Luna April. Apparently the future Alpha is still cooking. The Beta Marice and Gamma Steven. They are the last pack from this area. The rest are from lower Michigan and four from Wisconsin. Ryan and I go around with mom and Luna Cline to meet as many packs as we can before Lexi comes down. I look around for Aiden. Luna Cline pulled Ryan and me aside. “ Yes, Aiden is here. I have Jesse keeping a close eye on him. And my husband threatened to use the Alpha command on him if he tries to make a scene.” she said. She winks at me “ Henry wanted to leave him at home but I wanted him to see what he missed out on.” Ryan and I laugh at that. This lady is awesome.
