Chapter 65
Lexi
I let my mind go to the voice I heard in my dream as Christine’s comforting voice slowly fades. The next thing I know I am no longer in Christine’s office but a beautiful flower covered field surrounded by a forest. I should be scared but I’m not. I feel at peace. The sun is beating down on me, warming my skin. I don’t know where I am but I love it. I look around but don’t see anything but grass, flowers and trees. A voice pulls me from looking. “ Hello my human.” I turn my head in all directions trying to find the source. “ Stop looking around. You won’t find me.” the voice said. I could tell it was a woman but not the same voice from my dreams.
“ Will you at least tell me who you are?” I asked. Since there is no sense in looking around I just sit on the grass and listen. “ I am your wolf Lexi and I look forward to meeting you on the day after your birthday. I am partially with you now but am saving my strength for our shift.” she said. “ Hello, I look forward to meeting you as well. ” I giggled. I can’t believe I am talking to my wolf.“ Mother chose a wonderful human for me.” she said. “ I hope I can live up to your expectations.” I told her.
“ I have no doubt you will, child.” another voice says. It is the voice from my dreams. “ I know that voice. Are you the Goddess I have been told about?” I asked. “ Yes, child I am. We don’t have much time. If I keep you too long your body will become weak. I need you to listen.” she said. I nod. “ Embrace all your gifts. And prepare yourself. Great changes are coming. One within the week. You need to trust in yourself more than ever. If something tells you not to trust, believe in it. Valerose is getting close. Listen to what your heart tells you, listen to what you feel, and never forget who you are.Remember the stronger the bond the stronger the sparks. Never doubt your worth. You are stronger than you think. It is time for you to go back, the Luna, Elder and your mate are worried about you.Your wolf and I will see you soon. Until then take care, my child.” she said.
I hear a whisper “ Time to open your eyes.” I do and see I am back in Christine’s office. I see Christine, Morris, Evan and Luther are there looking very worried. “ What’s wrong?” I asked. Luther rushes over, yanks me off the couch into his arms, and holds me tight. “ Thank Goddess,you are alright. You made me so worried, baby.” Luther said. “ Worried? Why? I was just meditating for a few minutes.” I said, confused by his reaction. “ Lexi, you have been out for an hour. We tried waking you but got nothing.” Morris said. “ An hour. No, we just talked for a couple of minutes.” I said, shaking my head. “ Who did you talk to?” Christine asked. I looked at all of them and smiled.
“ The Goddess and my wolf.” I told them. “ You met with your wolf and Goddess?” Evan asked in shock. “ No, they didn’t show themselves. I just talked with them.” I said. I explained everything that happened after I closed my eyes. Luther sat back with me in his lap. “My mate can talk to the Goddess. That is so cool.” he said. I had to laugh at him acting star struck. “ We will all have to keep our eyes out for Valerose. I will let the other packs know there could be a vampire in the area. Lexi, please don’t go anywhere without a guardian.” Evan said.
I agreed. “ Now the change that is happening this week. Did you get an idea about it?” Morris asked. “ Not a definite answer. I feel it is both good and bad. Possibly personal.” I said. I see Luther’s face change but don’t understand what it means. But before I can ask something else catches my attention. “ Christine what is it?” I asked her. She was looking at me strangely. “ I think it would be better to show you.” she said.
She gave me the camera and played it back for me. At the halfway point I was engulfed in a white light and floated off the couch. Just before I woke up I floated back down and the light faded. Now I get why they were freaked out when I woke up. “ I don’t know what to say. I never felt any of that.” I told them. They nodded and said they would show it to the other Elders and explain what I was told. But for now it was snack time and time to head out to the training field.
