Holy shit! The Prophecy is real and she is my mate. I start racking my brain for anything I remember about the prophecy and come up empty. I see my Beta and Gamma drop and bow to Lexi. “ Our Queen.” Tyler said. I could hear the awe in his voice. “ Alpha said “ It looks like we have a lot more to discuss.” “ Wait Evan. Just because he said Mate doesn’t mean he accepts. Before we go any further I need to know.” she said still not using the Alpha title. “ Are you always this disrespectful?” I asked before I could stop myself. As soon as the words are out I know I fucked up. I hear growls coming from all directions including my Beta and Gamma. I get the feeling I’m about to die when I just met my long awaited mate.
Lexi cocks her head to the side. I see her pulse with an aqua marine glow. It goes in multiple directions and I hear the growls die down but the Alpha looks like he wants to snap my neck. “ Evan he doesn’t know, does he?” Lexi asked. I’m not opening my mouth this time. Alpha shakes his head “ No dear.” Lexi nods “ I will let it slide this time. Don’t let it happen again. I don’t need another mate that is an asshole. I will ditch you like I did the last one and wait for the next one to activate.” Lexi said. What the hell is she talking about? Did she already reject a mate?
“ But since you didn’t know I will enlighten you. I call him Evan because he asked me to. And if you must know from what I have been told I out rank him and the Elders. So yes, I don’t call him Alpha. Before calling someone disrespectful I suggest you know all the facts.” Lexi growled. Stone whimpered “ Stop being an idiot. You are upsetting our mate.” “ Baby, calm down. We will explain everything to Alpha Ryan. If he wants to reject you after he hears the whole story we will do it just like before.” Luther says, wrapping his arms around Lexi’s waist.
I wait for Stone to be pissed and growl but he doesn’t. I’m confused. “ Your wolf isn’t growling is he? That is because a part of him knows he doesn’t need to. Though he doesn’t know why. The thing is Lexi has been given two mates. I’m one of them. You may be the other if you want to come inside and listen to what we have to say.” Luther explains. “ I want to know everything about my mate.” I said. Luther nods “ Come on baby. It is time for your snack. And we can get this over with.” Luther takes Lexi’s hand and we all follow him inside to the kitchen.
As soon as Lexi sits down an older woman sets a plate of fruit, veggies and cookies in front of her. Lexi squeals when she sees the cookies “ Thanks Brenda. Can I have some apple juice too?” Brenda sits a glass down. “ Do I get some cookies?” Luther looks like he is pouting. Lexi wraps her arms around her plate and playfully growls. Brenda laughs and hands Luther another plate. “ You know better than to try to touch her red velvet cookies.” she said. I will make a note of that. Brenda turns to me “ Young Alpha may I offer you, and yours something?” We take a bottle of water.
We sit down on the bar stools and wait for the Alpha to tell us about Lexi. “ Brenda, did you set aside some for grandpa or do I have to share?” Lexi asked. “ I have some for Alpha Neval. Those are yours and I have put up for you.” Brenda said. “ Brenda, you are the best.” Lexi said. “ Lexi, eat. We are going to tell Alpha Ryan a story.” Alpha Evan said.Lexi pouts “ Don’t make us my Alpha voice on you.” Alpha said but there was no anger behind it. Luther, Lexi and Scott laugh. Luther looks at me “ It is funny because the Alpha aura doesn’t work on Lexi.”
We sit and listen to everything Alpha can tell us about Lexi. She is the girl from the Prophecy. She is the daughter of the moon Goddess. So yes, she does out rank any shifter. “ So now that you know everything, what do you want to do? Stand by my side or get the rejection over with?” Lexi asked. Was she serious? She thought I was going to reject her. “ Lexi, you are my second chance mate. I’m not giving you up.” I told her. I explained about finding my mate at eighteen and being rejected. And they weren’t unreasonable. “ I accept your terms.” I said.
Then Stone came forward before I could stop him. “ I accept you and your wolf.” he growled. Lexi beamed and came over to me “ Well, hello my wolf. What is your name?” “ I am Stone, my sweet.” he said. Already with the nicknames. But Lexi giggled so I left it alone. “ I look forward to meeting you, Stone. And I accept you too.” she said, giving us a quick kiss. I pushed Stone back but not before he said smugly “ She kissed me first.”
