Chapter 84

Luther and I were chatting with the Alpha,Luna and future Alpha of the Mackinac Island pack. The future Alpha was a sixteen year kid who looked bored out of his mind when he wasn’t checking out the girls walking around. I feel bad for the kid having to be stuck here listening to grown up talk. I’m sure he hasn’t even started his Alpha training yet. I decided to take a page out of Lexi’s book and engage the kid. Lexi wouldn’t want anyone to be miserable at her party. “ Young Alpha, is this the first time in the area?” I asked him. They said his name is Max but I’m using official titles for now. “ Yes. Honestly I didn’t want to come. I figured it would be like an Alpha meeting. But when mom said the Prophecy child was real and would be here I decided to check it out.” he said, and looked around again. I guess he was looking for Lexi. He isn’t the only one.

“ She isn’t down yet.” I told him. He turned to me with his eyes big. “ You know her?” he asked. I wanted to laugh at his reaction. “ Yes, I know her. Her name is Lexi.” I said. That got the kid to open up. “ Is it true that she glows? And it can be different colors.” he asked. “ Yes, she does. And yes to the different colors. If you ever see her turn red back away fast because she is pissed.” For the next five minutes I answered all his questions. Is it true she has two mates? Is she really as fast as they say? Is she as pretty as I have heard? I smelled Lexi before finally Luna Christine called everyone’s attention.

“ Could I have your attention please? Our guest of honor has arrived.” she announced, pointing to the stairs. We all turn and my jaw drops. I peak out of the corner of my eye to look at Luther and see he is having the same reaction. Stone is yipping and howling in my head. I feel like howling myself. Standing on the top of the stairs is my mate. To say she is beautiful doesn’t express how she looks. She has on a strapless light blue dress that goes to her feet in the back and reaches her knees in the front. The bodice fights tight against her chest and stomach pushing up her large tits. But not in a trashy way. She has on glittery light blue heels that have to be at least three inches giving her some height. Her flaming red hair was pulled back on the sides with hair clips. On her forehead is what looks like a silver necklace that goes back under her hair. In the middle is a blue gem.

Lexi has make-up on which I have never seen her wear but it is minimal. Lexi is standing with her head held high and smiling. She is glowing light blue that almost matches her dress. She is truly a Goddess. “ Wow.” Max says beside me. I look over and can see he is close to drooling. I’m not even jealous. I know she only has eyes for Luther and me. “ Ladies and gentleman, I would like to present the birthday girl, Lexi.” Luna Christine said. I noticed she isn’t introducing Lexi as the Prophecy child. I hear gasps and whispers around me. “ It’s true.” “ The prophecy child lives.” And my favorite is “ Our queen is here and she is hot.” Luther and I both chuckle at the one.

As Lexi descends the stairs with my dad on one arm and Evan on the other Max leans towards me. “ You have to introduce me,” he whispers. I chuckle, “ Sure kid.” Dad and Evan have their chests puffed out with pride as they walk Lexi down. On both sides of the stairs are guardians, not just from mine and Luther’s pack but from Aspen Rain as well. Each one bows as Lexi gets close to them. When they get to the bottom Lexi looks around. When she spots Luther and me she winks.

Lexi pushes out a happy glow and says “ Thank you all for coming to celebrate my birthday. I’m honored to have you here. I’m sure you have heard who I am and have loads of questions. I will get around to each of you as soon as I can. My goal is to meet all of you tonight so please be patient with me. Until then please enjoy yourselves. Eat something, have a drink, dance, or meet new people.” Lexi said. Lexi was greeted with a round of applause.

I was worried about how Lexi would handle all of these people but I should have. She handled it great in true Luna style. Dad leads her over to us followed by all her guards on all sides. When Lexi gets to me, she kisses my dad and Alpha Evan on the cheek before I take her arm from my dad. When they left I kissed her cheek even though I wanted her lips but wasn’t sure if I could control myself. Luther goes to her other side and does the same. “ You look stunning Lexi.” I said. Luther said “ I was going to go with amazing.” “ Thank you. You both look very handsome, yourself.” Lexi giggled. Lexi looks over at Max who is standing there star struck. “ And who is this handsome young man?” Lexi asked. I want to growl at Lexi calling another male handsome but the bright red blush on Max’s cheeks stops me.

Max takes a second to compose himself. When he does he stands as tall as he can and says “ My name is Max, future Alpha of the Mackinac Island pack.” Lexi holds out her hand to Max. “ I’m Lexi. It is nice to meet you. Would you do me the honor of introducing me to your parents?” she asks. “ Of course, my queen.” Max says. “ Thank you. Give me one second.” Lexi said. She turned to the guards “ Okay, do shifts if you think I need a guard. Two at my side at all times. And don’t make them from the same pack. I want you guys to get to know each other.” Lexi instructed. She looks over at Melissa who has been sniffing the air and looking around. Lexi smiles and winks at Melissa “ Melissa go. Find me later.” Melissa bows and takes off. I wonder what that is all about.

Lexi turns back to Luther and I “ My handsome mates shall we greet our guests?” We follow Max to his parents. We talked with them for a few minutes before moving on to the next group. I watched as several men openly checked Lexi out but my mate was completely oblivious to it. Lexi introduced Luther, me and her guards. She answered everyone’s questions with the patience of a saint. We made sure she ate a little here and there to keep her strength up . She was going to need it tonight. About an hour into the evening Jesse came over. “ Lexi, could you come with me?” he asked. “ Is there a problem?” I asked. But Luna Christine answered, “ Nothing is wrong. Jesse, Jackson and Melissa have a present for Lexi.”

Lexi looks at me and Luther in what I guess is permission. Before we can say a word Patsy grabs Lexi’s hand and places it with Jesse’s. “ Go. Your mates will be fine without you for five minutes.” Jesse pulls Lexi to the middle of the room. Jackson stands on her other side with Melissa beside him. Suddenly music starts and Lexi’s eyes get huge. She looks over at Jesse and he just nods. I don’t recognize the music, it sounds like country maybe. Lexi sure does because the four of them start dancing. “ Patsy what are they doing?” Luther asked. “ It is called line dancing. It is very popular in the south. They came to me for gift ideas for Lexi. After telling them that Lexi used to like dancing and I’m sure she hasn’t since she moved, they decided to learn how to do it.” she said.
