Is he that stupid he would think Lexi would do something like that? I see Luna grab his arm “ Honey, I don’t think that is Lexi?” she says to him. “ It is not sir. That is her wolf. A very pissed off wolf. And that girl is lying. I have been here the whole time. As well as Freya, Jesse, Melissa and Jackson. She put her hands on Luther whispering in his ear. When Lexi told her to back away the girl didn’t listen. She even tried to attack Lexi.” I said. “ She also tried telling us that she was our future Luna and we couldn’t touch her.” Freya growled. More growls from the guardians followed.
“ They are lying. All of them. They are just trying to protect this nobody.” the girl whines. She grabs Luther’s hand and pleads “ Baby, tell your parents. Tell them those people are lying.” Lexi is now pulsing out. I back up a little. Lexi looks at Luther and shakes her head. He still hasn’t pulled away from the girl. Lexi flicks her hand sideways causing the girl and Luther to separate. She looks at Luther with what looks like betrayal and growls out loud enough to make the room shake “ Mine.” I know she is hurt. What I did was bad but what Luther did or didn’t do was worse.
“ Someone better tell me who is speaking the truth.” Alpha said. Seriously? Lexi looks at the Alpha and nods. She turns to the girl and says “ Truth. All of it.” That’s all it takes for the girl to spill her guts. And not just about this evening's events. She lays out how she has been spreading rumors for a year that she was going to seduce Luther and convince him to mark her. She spread rumors about how she was going to be the next Luna. And how she ordered omegas to wait on her hand and foot. She even threatened any girl that tried to get close to Luther. Going as far as beating them. And how she hasn’t been with Luther since they were teenagers. She just thought she deserved to be Luna more than anyone else.
She even rejected her mate so she could be with Luther so convinced he would choose her. When she was done she was shaking in fear. Lexi turned to the Alpha and pushed out her glow. As you just heard Lexi has done nothing wrong but fight for her mate. She was just trying to rest. I took over for her. And you Alpha should be ashamed of yourself for doubting Lexi. The Goddess child would never attack without cause.” Lexi growled.
The Alpha and Luna bow their heads “ I'm sorry. I shouldn’t have made assumptions.” Alpha said. “ Don't apologize to me. Give it to Lexi when I return her.” Lexi said. She turned to Luther “ My mate. I don’t tolerate other females touching what is mine. Lexi is hurt by your actions. I suggest you fix this quickly or you will be the one who is rejected next. Thai could have been avoided if your pack knew you had found your mate.” “ I will make it up to her and explain. I won’t let her be hurt because of me again. And I will let my pack know I was blessed with a mate. Can we know your name?” Luther asked.
“ No, I want to inform Lexi first.” Lexi said. Lexi turns to me “ Aiden, Lexi may not want to stay with Luther tonight. She needs time. Take her with you. Comfort her. And feed her. Me taking over has drained her greatly.” “ You have my word Lexi will be taken care of.” I said. Lastly Lexi looked over the guardians. “ My loyal guards, it is good to meet you. Mother has chosen well for me and Lexi. It is an honor to have you by our side. I look forward to running with your wolves.” she said. She looked around the room and said “ All of your wolves.
Lexi gets control back and wobbles. Luther and I both move to catch her before she falls. She pulls back from Luther into my arms. She twitches her nose. It was so cute. “ Luther, you reek of that girl.” she says. Luther looks like he is a second away from tears. Lexi has never pulled away from him. “ Lexi baby, I’m so sorry. I promise there is nothing going on with me and Carry. Not in years. But I shouldn’t have let her touch me. I would be pissed if someone other than Aiden was touching you like that.” Luther said. I growl at that thought but calm when Lexi puts her hand on my chest.
“ I’m tired and you stink. I don’t want to talk about it right now. And I don’t think I can stay here tonight. I need some time. Give me a day. And we can talk.” Lexi said. Luther looked like he had been stabbed with silver right in the gut. But he nods “ I understand.” Lexi turns to Alpha and Luna. “ I am sorry for the disturbance. But truthfully I never actually laid a hand on that girl. I do apologize if my wolf was a bit aggressive.” Lexi said. I don’t think she needs to apologize. She didn’t do anything wrong. And I think she showed great restraint. Most wolves would have torn that bitch apart.
Alpha and Luna come to Lexi and envelop her in a hug. “ You have nothing to be sorry for. I would have done worse if I had been in your shoes. You go and rest. Have Aiden bring you back tomorrow. After you have had a good breakfast. I get you first thing.” Luna said smiling. Alpha kisses Lexi forehead and they leave. Lexi gives Luther a half hug quickly. She can’t stand the scent of that she-wolf on him. But she promises to see him tomorrow. I pick Lexi up bridal style and carry her to my car with Melissa, Jesse and Jackson behind me. I settle Lexi in the seat as Jesse climbs in the back. I don’t like how things went but I am thrilled to have Lexi with me tonight. She will be in my bed. We won’t do anything but I will have her in my arms as we sleep.
