Chapter 90
Lexi
We were all sitting around the large dining room having breakfast. And by all I mean my guardians, grandpa Nevel, Calissa, Christine, Kent, Henry, Evan, several elite warriors, much of the household staff that I had become friends with, and Aiden were here. There were even people from the other packs that I met last night. Of course Luther and Ryan were by my side. Christine said everyone was excited to see my first shift. It isn’t everyday you get to see the child of the Goddess shift. It was a rare moment in history and many wanted to witness it. I didn’t care who got to watch.
We were having a good time chatting and I felt it was the perfect time to bring up an idea I had. “ Henry, Ryan, and Luther, I was wondering if I could run an idea by you?” Henry wipes his mouth with his napkin giving me his full attention. Luther and Ryan turned their heads towards me. “ I have been giving this some thought. I belong to two packs now. It would be crazy to constantly have to run back and forth between the two. I was wondering what you thought of building a pack house between the two packs. Luther could still run his pack from there and so could Ryan. If we tried to merge the two packs into one area it could cause unnecessary stress and possible animosity and I don’t want that.” I said. “ We could have the new packhouse as a neutral territory. We could grant anyone that wanted to explore the other pack permission and it would allow others to try and find their mate or just make friends.” I continued.
“ That is a well thought out idea Lexi. We can discuss it and look into the possibility. That is if Ryan and Luther are on board.” Henry said. I was about to respond when I heard a new voice say “ I knew mother would pair me with a smart human.” For some reason I was looking around the room. “ Look I know this is new to you but please stop looking around. I’m in your head.” the voice said. I gasped when it dawned on me it was my wolf talking to me. “ Hi.” I whispered.
She giggled in my head. My wolf giggled. “ You don’t need to talk out loud. Just think about what you want to say.” she said. “ Hi, it is nice to finally meet you.” I said in my head. “ It is good to meet you as well. My name is Arya. We will get to know each other more later. I need you to finish eating so we can go shift.” Arya said. “ Baby, are you alright?” Luther asked. I turned to look at him. I know I was beaming. “ Yes, sorry. I was just talking to my wolf.” I said. “ Really. She is with you.” Luther asked. “ Yes I am. Our mate is yummy. I want to see our other one. Show me Ryan.” Arya said.
I laughed at her. “ Yes, she is here and she says you are yummy. But I already knew that.” I giggled. I turned to Ryan so Arya could see him. “ Wow. Mother sure knows how to pick some hotties. Hurry up and eat so I can meet their wolves. I bet they have sexy wolves.” Arya purrs. “ What is she saying?” Ryan asked. “ She said that you and Luther are hot. And she wants me to finish eating so she can meet your wolves.” I told him. “ Stone and I look forward to meeting you.” Ryan said. “ So do me and Diesel.” Luther said.
“ What is her name?” Calissa asked. I feel Arya push forward. That is a weird feeling I’m going to have to get used to. I can see Arya looking around before she says “ Hello everyone. I’m Arya.” Everyone greets her. “ Thank you. I’m going to give Lexi back control so we can get ready to shift. I want to stretch my legs.” Arya said before letting me forward.
When we finished eating Luther and Ryan escorted out the middle of the backyard and everyone gathered around in a circle. “ Arya, I don’t know what to do.” I admitted. “ That’s alright. I will guide you. We are going to shift differently than the others.” she said. Luther looked a little worried. “ Arya is going to guide me through.” I told him. He nods. “ First I want you to take a deep breath. Then I want you to get on the ground so you don’t fall.” Arya said. “ What about my clothes?” I asked knowing they were going to get shredded. “ Don’t worry about that. I have you covered.” she said. I trusted her so I did what she said.
I sat on the ground and Arya told me to imagine a wolf. I felt a burning sensation go through me. Then I felt all my joints pop at once but nothing too painful. Then there was a bright white glow that enveloped me. I felt the need to get on all fours as Arya came forward. When the glow faded and the warm sensation left I was standing on four paws. “ How do you feel?” Arya asked me. “ I feel fine. It was painful as I have heard.” I said.
Gasps from all different directions pulled our attention. I lifted my head and looked through Arya’s eyes to see most everyone had their mouths open. “ Arya, why are they looking at us like that?” I asked. “ We are different from any other wolf they have seen. When we run we will find a river so you can see for yourself.” she said.
Luther
Ryan and I stood by Lexi for support during her shift. It can be painful the first time. When Lexi said Arya was going to talk her through the shift I was happy but completely unprepared for what happened. Instead of popping of bones and clothes being shredded Lexi was surrounded in a glow for a minute. When the glow was gone in place of Lexi was a large silver wolf with aquamarine tips. Her eyes have the same glow as Lexi’s. She was a little shorter than me or Ryan. “ She is gorgeous.” Diesel moaned. “ Yes, she is.” I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. Ryan was the first to break and walked up to Lexi/ Arya.
“ Arya you are stunning,” he said in awe. “ Stunning, she is incredible.” my dad called out. “ Thank you, Henry.” a voice said. Dad gasped. “ Arya is that you? How?” he asked. “ It is a gift from mother. I can talk to any wolf I want even if I’m not linked to them.” Arya said. “ I know everyone has questions. Lexi can answer them later. I want to run with my mates.” she said. “ Let me out. Let me out.” Diesel chanted. He did have to tell me again. I was already stripping down. “ Anyone who wants to come is welcome.” Arya said. Suddenly the rest of then where stripping down.
