Chapter 99
Luther
After I helped Lexi take her shoes off Ryan got her settled in the middle of the bed. We choose the middle of the bed because if Lexi levitates again we don’t want to run the risk of her falling off the bed or injuring herself. Once Lexi was relaxed and her eyes started to close I motioned with my head for Ryan to follow me to the couch at the far end of the room. Once we get settled Ryan asks “ So what happens now?” “ We sit and watch. Listen to anything she may say.” I said. “ How does Lexi communicate with the Goddess anyway?” Ryan asked, never taking his eyes off of Lexi.
“ I’m not exactly sure. Last time Lexi meditated. I don’t know what happened while she did other than she told us she was in another realm where she could talk to the Goddess.” I told him. “ So.” he started to say but stopped when he noticed Lexi was glowing white. “ It begins. Lexi is with the Goddess now.” I told Ryan. We watched Lexi float about a foot off the bed and the glow surrounded her like she was in a bubble. Ryan leans back and crosses his arms over his chest.
“ Is she ever going to stop impressing me? Or reminding me I’m a lucky son-of-a-bitch
?” Ryan chuckles. “ I doubt it. Lexi has always been an amazing person. Even when she thought she was an odd human. And as far as being lucky. You will remember that every time she smiles, laughs or falls asleep on your chest. At least I do. And wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.” I said. “ Praise the Goddess to that, man.” Ryan laughed.
We chatted back and forth for about an hour and a half but still kept a close eye on Lexi. She never said anything, just floated perfectly still in her bubble. We were talking about heading to Ryan’s pack tonight for a long weekend when we noticed Lexi easing down to the bed. Not a minute after her back hit the bed the glow faded. We didn’t move until we saw Lexi open her eyes. She turned her head to us and smiled.
“ I can’t believe I get to wake up to that much hotness everyday of my life.” she giggled. “ Come lay with me for a minute.” she said. Ryan and I jumped up and rushed over to her. Ryan got on one side of her while I laid on the other. Ryan and I wrapped our arms around Lexi. She laid her head on Ryan’s shoulder as she smiled at me. “ How did it go?” I asked. “ Well, I got to see Arya. That was cool. She is beautiful.” Lexi said. “ Sexy too.” Diesel said, making Lexi laugh. “ Did you get the answers you were looking for?” Ryan asked.
“ Yes, and no. I have some things I need to think over. And I would rather talk to everyone at once. Things are definitely changing. That is one thing I am sure of. Now we just need to figure out what direction.” Lexi said. “ But enough for now. Can you guys call everyone together? I want to talk to them then I want to head out.” Lexi said. Ryan and I linked everyone and told them to meet us in the living room. Lexi got up and grabbed a few things she wanted to take to Ryan’s and asked if I needed anything to pack. We have been going back and forth so much Lexi and I have plenty of stuff in both places. The united packhouse is sounding better and better everyday.
When she had everything she wanted to take she grabbed her bag and we went down stairs to join the others. Once we get there we see all of my elite warriors are here as well as all of Lexi’s guardians from mine and Aiden’s pack. “ Thank you all for your patience. Before we get into what I have learned, is there any new information?” Lexi asked. Everyone shakes their head. “ Alright. Did anyone have an idea they wanted to share?” she asked. She looks around and suddenly starts laughing. “ I’m sorry.” she gasps. “ I suddenly felt like a school teacher asking her class questions.” she laughs.
I look out the room and the way Lexi is standing and can see what she is talking about. I see my dad look around and he starts cracking up. That gets the room going. It is nice to have a little laughter to lighten up the tense times. Once we get under control Lexi continues, “ I was able to visit with mother. She told me that she can sense a change. A war with Valerose may still be happening but not as soon as she had thought. Valerose has definitely changed his tactics.The scents you have picked up are definitely vampire. So Valerose is in the area.Where is anyone’s guess. We need to inform everyone of that. And she said we need to be away of dark magic and rouges. I’m sure you know what that is and I will read up on it. Any questions so far?”
“ Why has Valerose suddenly changed, did the Goddess say?” Isabelle asked. Lexi suddenly looks uncomfortable. She is shifting her feet and biting her bottom lip not looking at anyone. “ Baby?” I asked. Lexi looks at me and for the first time ever I see fear. “ What's wrong?” my dad asked. Lexi turns to him and says “ Me. Something about me brought on the change. That is all I know. I’m sorry.”
Kyle steps forward “ Lexi, I hope I speak for all of us when I say you have nothing to be sorry for. We don’t hold any of this on you. This path was chosen for you before you were born. You are our light in the darkness that is coming.” Lexi wipes a tear from her eyes as everyone agrees with what Kyle said. Lexi walks over to Kyle and hugs him. He wraps his huge arms around her practically hiding her. “ Thank you Kyle. All of you.” Lexi said. “ You are most welcome, my queen.” Kyle said before he released her.
“ I will headed to Iron River for the weekend. If you need us just link. I promise you we will head right back. But I can safely say we are under no threat. For now. So enjoy your weekend.” Lexi said. She winks at me and Ryan before she says “ I know I will.” Oh, sassy Lexi. This is going to be fun. “ Hopefully naked fun.” Ryan links me. “ I’m on board for that.” I linked. “ Mmm, horny mates. I love it. Let’s go. I need to relax in a way only you can help me with.” Lexi linked.
