Chapter 19

Aiden

I was having a great dream. At least most of it was. I was dreaming of Lexi. She was in my bed. Naked. I had my arms around her kissing her neck right where I would mark her. My head on her large tit pinching her nipple making it a tight bud. I heard her giggle “ You ready to go again? You just took my virginity. Let me rest for a few minutes.” I said to her, “ I’m always ready for you.” before I roll her over and get on top of her. I kiss her sweet lips before going down to her tits. “ If you always want me then why did you reject me?” I hear Lexi but her voice has changed. It is a Luna tone. Full of authority and anger. Lexi is no longer under me but standing in front of my door. Her body is glowing aquamarine like her eyes. Her eyes I can see hurt and pain. “ Why was I not good enough?” Her hands that are at her sides change into claws.

Her hair is blowing out like someone turned on a fan and aimed it at her. It looks like her hair is made out of aquamarine flames. “ Why did you hurt me?” Lexi growls. I see her teeth turn to fangs. But she is human. She shouldn’t be able to do any of this. “ Lexi, I’m sorry.” I said. “ Now you will feel my pain.” Lexi growls. I doubled over screaming as pain and heartbreak was over me. I heard Razor begging me to make her stop. My dad asked for it to stop before I killed us all.

I wake up with a start gasping for air. I could hear voices around me but they were muffled like they weren’t in the room with me. I feel like I am on a bed. That can’t be right. I was on the ground. I remember the pain. Oh Goddess the pain. I remember my dad begging me to stop because my mom has passed out. I open my eyes and see I’m not in my room. I see white wall and bright lights. I look to the side of me and see an Iv in my arm. What the fuck? I see monitors. I take a deep breath and can smell wolves. So I must be in the pack hospital but why? And how did I get here?

I’m alone in the room. Where are my parents? Why are they not here? Where is Jesse, my Beta and best friend? Shouldn’t they be checking on me? Be by my side? The door opens and the pack doctor Throp comes in. “ Good you are awake. I will inform Alpha and Luna.” he says. I see his eyes glaze over as he links my parents. “ How are you feeling?” Throp asked me. I move around and sit up. Every muscle hurts and my head is killing me. “ I feel like I went ten rounds with my dad. And ate sand.” I whispered. My throat hurts and burns like I swallowed a match. The doctor hands me a cup of water “ Drink slowly. This will help.” he said.

I sip it at first then I chug it. “ How did I get here?” I asked. “ Jesse, brought you in after you passed out.” my dad answered. I turn to the door and see him leaning against it. I know he is upset that I rejected my mate but why won’t he come into the room. “ Dad, is mom alright?” I asked. I remember he said she had passed out. “ She is doing better. No thanks to you. She woke up yesterday. She still feels some pain though.” Dad said.

“ Why is she feeling pain? I don’t get it. Wait yesterday?” I asked. I’m confused. “ You have been out for two days.” Thorp answers. Two days because I rejected Lexi. How can that happen? I look at my dad “ What happened?” “ Jesse told me he stopped the girl from accepting your rejection. He told us what happened, including how she lit up like a lighthouse beacon.” dad said. I lay back. Great, now what am I going to do?

“ I’ll do better next time. I get her to accept the rejection fast to get it over with quickly.” I said. “ You are going to reject her again? Are you really that stupid son? Are you determined to kill us? When tried the first time that girl managed to make the pack, Elders included feel every ounce of pain she felt. I could feel how angry she was. How hurt she was. It was so bad that not only did your mother pass out but several members did. One of which was your future Gamma Jackson. And some still feel it and you want to do it again. Are you nuts?” my dad roars.

I sit up and swing my legs off the bed. “ Dad, the pack will never accept a human as a Luna. I need someone strong to lead by my side.” I yelled. Why don’t they get that? Dad shakes his head “ You really are stupid aren’t you. Do you really think a human could take us down without lifting a finger like she did? She wasn’t even in pack territory and took us all down. Jesse wouldn’t give me her name but I figured it out by what he told me.”

“ Why wouldn’t he tell you?” I asked. “ Because he was protecting her. He thought I would go after her and was prepared to fight me to keep her safe.” dad said. “ He is protecting a human over our pack? Why would he do that? Jesse is supposed to be my Beta. He is supposed to protect me.” I said. Why would he turn on me? I've known Jesse since we were in diapers. “ Because he is smarter than you are. That is why. He is following his wolf and the Elders. Lexi needs to be protected. She is definitely more than human. And she is powerful. Jesse also told me that she had no idea what you said to her. He also told me when she thought he was hurt she was instantly worried about him. She dropped all her hurt and anger towards you to help her friend. And you know what. I felt that too. Lexi’s worry and concern. I only met her one time and felt her twice. And I can tell you she has the making of a fine Luna. The pack will accept her before they accept you.” dad said.

Suddenly dad's eyes glazed over. “ Thorp with me now.” he says and they race out of the room. I rip the Iv out and follow them. Someone must have gotten hurt for dad to rush like that. Just as we get to the hospital entrance the doors bust open. A bloody Melissa, Jackson and Jesse run in. With them is the wolf I saw the other day with Lexi covered in blood too.. She called him Luther. He is carrying a bloody unconscious Lexi in his arms.

Thorp rushes over with a gurney. “ Put her on here.” Luther growls and holds Lexi to his chest tighter. My dad slowly walks up “ Easy son. I’m Alpha of this pack. We just want to help her.” Luther looks at Jesse “ Let them help her, Luther. Lexi will be safe. I give you my word.” Luther puts her down on the gurney and takes off. Luther and the rest make like they are going to follow but my dad stops them. “ Let Thorp work. Tell me what happened.” he said.

Jesse leans against the wall “ I went to visit Lexi as Remus. We were sitting on her back porch. She was just talking. She was laughing.” Luther picks up from there “ I came by to see her and take her to dinner. She introduced me to her other friend. She called him Argos which I now know is Remus. Suddenly there were five wolves coming towards us. I have never seen anything like it. They had red eyes and looked rabid.”

“ They charged at Lexi. She helped fight them off. We took them down and ten more came. All focused on Lexi. She fought harder than we did. I linked Jackson and Melissa for help. They were close.” Jesse said. “ When we got there I swear there were twenty. Lexi was fighting three. We just jumped in. We all tried to keep them from Lexi but she was their focus. She would get one off her two more would jump. “ Melissa said. “ When we finally killed them all I guess it was too much for Lexi. She collapsed.” Jackson said.

Dad turned to Luther “ I didn’t catch your name.” Luther holds out his hand “ Sorry sir. I’m Luther Riverclaw, future Alpha of the Riverclaw pack.” Dad shakes his hand “ Alpha Henry Cline. Welcome to AspenRain. May I ask who are to Lexi?” Luther puffs out his chest and grins “ She is my mate.” he says. “ She got a second chance mate already?” I shout without thinking. Dad shakes his head “ No, she didn’t accept your rejection. So he isn’t her second chance. He is her second mate.” “ What do you mean second mate?” I asked in shock. “ If I’m right I will check but it sounds like Lexi has two mates.” dad said. How is that possible? I have never heard of such a thing.


“ With respect sir. I will help and answer any of your questions I can. But I would like to check on my mate.” Luther said. “ Let’s get you kids cleaned up first. I will call my Elders. And someone needs to call Patsy.” Dad said. “ Thank you sir.” “ Of course. Jesse show Luther where he can clean up and see about getting him some clothes. Then you guys can come back and check on Lexi. And talk to the elders.” Dad said. He turns to me after Jesse leaves “ I think you should go back to bed while I sort this out. But I will leave this one parting thought. That human as you call her fought off wolves by herself. I think you fucked up big time think so small minded and trying to reject her.”

I walk back to my room thinking about what dad said. He is right a human doesn’t glow or fight wolves. She doesn’t project pain. Am I really being small minded and just rejecting her on first thought. Razor said many times sLexi is more than human. Everyone says it. I do need to think. I may have made the biggest mistake of my life.
