Chapter 150

Lexi

Was I nervous about getting sworn in? Hell, yes. As soon as my hand was cut it felt like everything clicked into place. I felt a connection to not only Luther’s pack, and Ryan’s pack but all the backs. “ I can feel all of the wolves. I swear I can feel some that aren’t even here.” Arya said. I’m paying attention to Luther as I talk to Arya. “ How is that possible? The ceremony isn’t even over yet. I feel a strong connection to every person here.” I asked Arya. “ Do you Luther vow to put the safety and well-being of your pack before anything else?” Standish asked Luther before Arya could answer. “ I swear,” Luther said making me smile bigger. “ Do you promise to fight alongside your queen and Alpha Ryan as a united front?” Standish asked. “ I swear,” Luther answered.

“ I don’t know how it is possible. Blame mother. That’s what I do when strange shit happens to us. Now pay attention. We can sort the rest out later. This is an important night for all of us. I’m just not talking about the ceremony.” Arya crumbled at me. She is right. Luther and Ryan deserve my full attention. I turned back to Luther just as he finished his oaths. Damn, it. I missed it.” You only missed a few things. I know you were talking to Arya.” Luther linked me as his hand was being cut. When his blood combined with mine the link to his pack was cemented together. I know he felt it when all of his pack could feel me. I swear I saw every one of them stand a little taller.

“ Alpha Ryan, you have already made your\ oath to your pack. The vows you take today will be to combine your pack with Luther’s for you, Luther and our Queen to rule. Do you accept?”” Standish asked. Ryan held out his hand without hesitation “ I do.” “ Do you Alpha Ryan swear to lead your pack as fairly as you have been?” Standish asks. " I swear." He said. "Do you, Alpha Ryan, promise to lead your pack with Luther and our Queen by your side as equals."

" I swear," Ryan said. Standish cuts Ryan and lets it bleed into the bowl. When all three of our blood mixes it starts to glow aquamarine like I do most of the time. I hear a collective gasp. " Luther? Ryan? Is that supposed to happen?" I asked unsure of what was happening.
Standish answers for them. " Most of you have seen Queen Lexi's glow. This can only mean one thing. The Moon Goddess has given her blessing." He said. Standish grabs my hand and motions for Luther and Ryan to stand beside me as Standish turns me towards the crowd.

Luna Calissa and Christine stand behind me. Alpha Kent stands behind Ryan. Alpha Henry is behind Luther. " Ladies, gentlemen, honored guests. It is my honor and privilege to present your Luna and Queen Lexi. As well as your Alphas and King, Luther and Ryan."

With that statement, it was like a lock was placed on the links. I held Luther and Ryan's hands in mine. I push my glow out then bow to my people. Ryan and Luther follow my lead. I sent out a group mind link " The honor is mine to serve you."

When I stood I could tell everyone was in shock at my actions. My guardians who until that point had their backs to me were now facing me. They stand tall, side by side with their mates. They place their hand over their hearts and bow. When they stand back up they raise their heads to the shy and howl. The rest follow their lead.

Including Henry, Calissa, Christine, Kent, and Standish. I can feel the love and acceptance coming from everyone. Jesse, Melissa, and Jackson step forward. I can tell those three are up to no good. Melissa winks at me before they shout " All hail Queen Lexi."

The rest of my guardians shout after them. What I didn't expect to happen was the shouts that followed. All the attendees were shouting in agreement. Chanting " All hail queen Lexi." Even Luther and Ryan were chanting. The sight before me brought tears to my eyes. Happy tears.

Suddenly there was a commotion at the back. People start parting to get out of the way. What the hell is going on? Luther and Ryan glue themselves to my hip. My guardians and everyone behind me stand on guard ready to defend and fight. Arya is strangely quiet.

I look out at the crowd and that's when I see what is causing the issue. Or should I say who? Walking towards us is Val with Embrose at his side. Behind them look like at least fifty vampires and if my nose isn’t mistaken some wolves in the mix. “ You aren’t mistaken. I count ten to fifteen wolves mixed in. Most are in the back.” Arya told me. I know I told Val that if he wanted me to find me. I wasn’t sure if he got the message. There was part of me that didn’t think he would look for me. “ I knew he would. We are hard to resist.” Arya stated. My wolf has a big ego sometimes. Let’s get back to the matter at hand. I have over one hundred wolves ready to attack.

Not including nine guardians, plus their mates. Scratch that. Eight guardians ready to fight. Isabelle has her eyes glued to Embrose with a look of shock on her face. I’ll help her deal with that in a minute. Jackson is sniffing the air. All the Elders, former and current Alphas and Lunas are ready to charge. I swear everyone is waiting for my word. Val and his group stopped about ten feet from me. “ No need to stop on my account,” Val smirks. Tyler growls at Val, “ What do you want vampire?” Val snaps his head towards Tyler. “ This doesn’t concern you.” Val hissed. I see Tyler and the rest of my guardians ready to attack. Any second they are going to start fighting.

I need to calm things down before innocent people get hurt. There are children here for Goddess's sake. I switch to my calming glow, pushing it out making sure I cover my guardians. “ Easy my protectors. Let’s try to be civil.” I said. I turned my attention to Val who was smiling at me. “ Val, please don’t provoke them. I must warn you. If it is a fight you want, you will get it. You will lose.” I told him. Val takes a few steps forward away from his group. “ I didn’t come to start a fight, my queen,” he said making sure to look me in the eyes.

“ He is trying to show us we can believe him,” Arya said. “ What do you feel from him?” I asked her. I need to know what she is getting to see if we are on the same page. “ I don’t feel any hostility coming from him. Cocky? Yes. So we agree. I will hear Valerose out. I walk to the edge of the platform with Luther and Ryan in tow. Theta re letting me take the lead on this. If it goes to war they are going to be among the first to jump in. “ Then why have you come, Val?” I asked him. I want him to get to the point so we can either fight to the death or get on with the celebration. “ I heard you, Lexi,” he said. “ So you brought all of these people with you because you heard me?” I asked confused. Val waves his hand toward the people behind him. “ The wolves behind me I brought to show you how serious I am. I have freed them. For you.” he said.

I didn’t expect that. I’m thrilled these wolves are free. I will do everything I can to help them either get home or bring them into our packs. “ If they are free let them come forward,” I said. I had to see if he was playing some sort of game. I link Calissa and Christine. “ Will you take them and have them looked over? See if they have any medical concerns that need to be addressed. See if they have any family we can contact. Take whoever you need to help make them comfortable.” I asked. “ Of course Lexi,” Calissa said stepping forward.

With Ryan and Luther by my side, Calissa and Christine behind me I make my way down the steps. I want to greet these new wolves. I can tell just by looking at them they are scared and confused. They are a mix of men and women. Ages from maybe twenty to maybe sixty. It is hard to tell with wolves because they age differently than humans. The aging slows when we hit our twenties. Stop when they are just five feet in front of me. I know my guardians and a few warriors are behind me.

I notice Isabell has moved close to me but she still hasn’t taken her eyes off of Embrose. Jackson has moved closer to me staring out at the wolves. I have a hunch of what is going on. I will deal with that in a little while. We need to get these new wolves taken care of first. Then I need to deal with Valerose. I push my calming glow out to cover all the new wolves. I hear several gasps. A couple of “ She lives.” and a “ The prophecy is true.”

“ My wolves. I am Luna Lexi.” I told them. I point to Luther and Ryan. “ These are my mates. Alpha Ryan and Alpha Luther. We welcome you. You are free now. We will help you in any way we can. If you can return to your home packs. We will make it happen. If that isn’t possible we invite you to join us.” I said. They looked so overwhelmed yet, I could see them relax a little.

“ Nothing has to be decided right now. I asked you to go with Luna Calissa.” I said as she stepped to my side. “ And Luna Christine.” when she steps forward. “ They are going to see to your needs. Anything you need, just ask. I would like you to consider letting our pack doctors give you a quick check-up.” I tell them. I hear Jackson whimper from beside me and a whimper comes from the middle of the group. Time to fix this. “ Guardian Jackson,” I call out. He pays attention with his head held high. I want what I believe is Jackson’s mate to know his importance and who he is to me. You know besides my dear friend.

I turn to him and wink. I hear a faint short growl. Defiantly mate. “ Would you escort the Lunas and help them in any way they need?” I asked him. Poor Jackson looks confused for a second as to why I was asking. Then like a light went on he figured it out. Jackson smiled at me and bowed. “ It would be an honor, my queen.” One thing dealt with. Now to deal with Val.
