Chapter 121

Luther

I hated that Lexi wanted to meet Valerose alone. So did Ryan. We wanted to be there with her. Lexi insisted this was something she needed to do on her own. She needed to show Valerose how strong she was and she wouldn’t hide behind her mates. Ryan and I reluctanlty agreed as long as she brought her guards and extra warriors from each pack. Lexi her cute pout thing that made me want to kiss her but agreed. And I did kiss her. So did Ryan. I love that pout she does. We didn’t know when Valerose would show up or if he would at all. Lexi was confident he would show up. Something about his ego would let the message Lexi sent go. He would have to come because he felt like Lexi called him out. She did to. She knew what she was doing when she sent the message.

I know we are all tired of the wait and see game. Still we didn’t know when Valerose would show up. Ryan stayed at his pack today and I was at my packhouse. We figured having two stressed Alpha’s in the same packhouse was not going to be a good thing. It could raise tension amongst the members. We didn’t want that. We both gave our warriors instructions to link us if Valerose showed up and anything he does. Was working with my mom on the Luna ceremony. We were hoping to have it in two weeks. Usually it is done within a week of being mated but since nothing about us and Lexi is usual we are doing it differently.

We were going over the very long guest list when I get a link from one of my warriors. Lexi had met with Valerose and they were talking. I linked back “ Any sign of trouble?” I asked. “ No, Alpha. Honestly, if I didn’t know who it was I would think they were having just a friendly chat.” Ryan links in “ You get notified.” “ I did. Just now. My warrior says there is no danger right now.” I told him. “ I don’t feel any stress or fear coming from Lexi.” Ryan said. “ Same here.” I said. I could feel many things. Curiosity, confusion, sass, and shock. Never fear.

I kept my focus on my mom until I hear anything else. As much as I don’t like it Aiden’s mom is handling Lexi’s dress with Melissa’s help. It isn’t that I have anything against Calissa, I just don’t think she should be helping with the Luna ceremony. Or more like I don’t want Aiden to have any hand in it. But Lexi adores Calissa and the other way around so I didn’t say anything. I needed something to take my mind off of what may be going on. “ Relax my human mate. We are fine.” Arya said through the link. I could feel Ryan as well so I knew she had included him. “ They have finished talking and Lexi is going to class. She will tell you about the meeting when she gets home.” she told us.

“ Is she alright, Arya?” Ryan asked. “ She is fine. Confused. We both are. I stayed at the surface the entire time they talked and our guardians were by our side the entire time. Valerose only brought his second in command with him. We could have taken them out easily if there had been a need.” Arya said. “ Alright, Arya. We will see you when you return home.” I told her. “ I’ll head over to Luther’s when I get done here.” Ryan said. “ See you then.” Arya said before cutting her link. “ See you soon. Love you.” Lexi said. “ Ryan said “ Love you too.” before cutting his link knowing Lexi was safe and Valerose was gone. “ Love you, baby.” I said. I felt good knowing Valerose was gone for now. Now I can focus on what my mom is planning.

They have most everything in place. We are having the ceremony at the site of the new packhouse. Mom is having tents set-up and a platform made for the ceremony. Mom is so happy to have Lexi as our next Luna I can feel it coming off of her. I am thrilled my mate and parents adore each other. I was a little worried because of some of the stories I have heard. But that is not something I ever have to worry about. Mom gathers the papers and all the invitations in her hands. “ I will get these sent out today. Kent sent over his list and I did those already. You go down stairs. Lexi will be home soon.” mom told me. I smile at her and kiss her cheek “ Thanks mom.” She was right about Lexi being home soon. I could already feel her close so I ran down to the kitchen where Lexi would go when she came in. Lexi still needs a snack everyday because she is still burning more calories than her body can handle. It is getting better everyday. Her body is keeping up with the changes better.

I get to the kitchen just as the Deb is setting Lexi’s snack out. I see a couple omegas prepping things for dinner so I stay out of their way. “ Here you are young Alpha.” Deb said handing me a bottle of water and a plate of apple slices, grapes and a few chocolate chip cookies. “ Thanks Deb.” I said as I sat at the counter. “ Will Alpha Ryan be joining you and the Luna?” Deb asked. “ No, he will be by later. Expect him for dinner please.” I told her. Deb smiles “ We always do.” Deb sets a plate and glass down beside me. This one has carrot sticks, grapes, cheese cubes, and cookies. Lexi can’t stand apples. Which is weird because she like apple juice.

“ For the Luna.” Deb said. I pop a grape in my mouth and wait for my mate to walk through the door. “ I don’t know why you call her Luna when she isn’t yet.” Lora an omega slut said when she walked to my side. Deb scowls at her and turn her back to us to helped with dinner. I heard her grumble “ Young ones. No respect.” She has a point. Everyone knows the Luna ceremony is being planned. Lexi is marked. And she is the fucking queen of shifters she deserves respect. I let some of my Alpha aura go and say “ You will respect your future Luna. Or deal with me.” I said. “ Or better yet, deal with me.” my sweet mate said. When did she get here? Right now she looks anything but sweet. She looks down right pissed.

So do her guards and warriors that are standing behind her. Lora looks at Lexi and the warriors and visible gulps. Lexi is about ten feet away and walking very slowly towards us. Like she is stalking her prey and doesn’t want to spook it. “ I have had a confusing and frustrating day. I was hoping to come home to one of my packhouses to have my snack and relax a little before I get down to business.” Lexi said. The closer she gets the more rage I could feel coming off of her. This was not good at all. I had the feeling of dread in me that I never have had before. “ But no. I had to come into my home. My sanctuary from the outside world to listen to a whore who doesn’t value her life running her mouth about me.” Lexi rants.

“ What the hell is going on over there? I can feel Lexi’s rage. Who is going to die?” Ryan linked. “ I don’t know the entire story yet but Lexi came home to an omega running her mouth and I think that was the straw that broke the camels back.” I linked back. “ Well, calm her down before she does something she will regret.” Ryan said. “ Watch out for Arya. She is close to the surface.” Deisel chimed in. “ Tell me, Lora, do you have a death wish? Did you wake up this morning thinking it was a good day to die?” Lexi growled so loud it made the windows rattle.


Lexi is no longer walking but floating three feet off the flow and glowing fire red. My warriors, all five of them, are snarling and growling at Lora. I hear more snarling coming from outside all feeding off of Lexi’s rage. Deb grabbed the other omega’s and took off. Lora is on her knees beside me crying her eyes out begging. “ I’m sorry. It will never be disrespectful again. I don’t want to die.” Lora cried. “ And I don’t want to come into my home to see sluts s tanding so close to my mate. I don’t want to come home and listen to the help that we pay bad mouthing me when I have been nothing but nice.” Lexi howled out with Arya’s help. Lora now has her head bowed so low she could touch the floor. I feel the need to do it as well. I need to stop this. Now.

“ Lexi, baby.” I called out. Lexi turned her head to look at me. I stood up and slowly walked over to her. “ I need you are Arya to back down.” I told her. They just growl at me. I say they because it is both Lexi and Arya. “ I know you are pissed. They entire pack can feel it and they are hurting.” I told her. Lexi lower to the floor a little. “ Ryan is on his way. Come back to us and let us make your day better. When you calm down you can deal with Lora.” I said. Lora still needs to be punished for her disrespect. If Lexi doesn’t need to do it why she is this angry. She will most likely kill Lora. Lexi’s glow is pulled back. “ Luther, I just wanted to relax for a little while when I came home. I just wanted to hug my mate before I had to come back to the real world.” Lexi huffed. “ I know baby. And I’m going to amke sure that happens as soon as you let go of your anger. My arms are right here when you are ready.” I told her. Lexi’s feet hit the floor by the time I reached her.

“ Luther.” Lexi said with tears in her eyes. The red in her glow is gone so she can feel things the people around us feel. “ I know baby. I know. They will forgive.” I told her. No one was going to get mad because she let her power get out of control. Most would understand. “ Would one of you warriors please escort Lora to the cells until I am ready to deal with her. Remind her of the fact that she is lucky Lexi wants to wait to deal with her instead of when she is pissed.” I asked. Two warriors the were standing the closest to Lexi moved and grabbed Lora under her arms dragging her down the hall. Lora doesn’t even try to fight. As they walk away Lexi links everyone. “ I’m sorry for any pain I have caused you when I let my temper get out of control. I beg your forgiveness when you see fit.” she linked. No one is going to hold it against Lexi.
