Luther

Jesse led me to his room to grab a shower. I was grateful Alpha encouraged me to get cleaned up before I saw Lexi. I didn’t want her to see me covered in blood. I showered quickly not wanting to be away from Lexi too long. I don’t know this pack and I don’t know if I can trust them. Especially after finding out Lexi has another mate here and he tried to reject her. I need to look into what the Alpha said about Lexi having two mates. I have to agree with the other guy. I have never heard of that happening. I need to talk to my Elders. They have to know something.

When I get back to my pack I will talk to my dad and Elders. I was hoping to wait a little bit so Lexi could get used to me. Date her and woo her like the humans do. I’m sure she doesn’t know about mates or were’s so I knew I had to be careful and not scare her away. But after what I saw today I don’t think much would scare Lexi. I smile thinking about her. Diesel growls out at me “ Hurry up. Go see mate. Mate hurt.” “ Alright buddy you are right. I’m going.” I told him. I finished quickly and used the towel left out for me.

I see a pair of basketball shorts and a tee-shirt left on the counter as well. I have to make sure to tell Jesse thanks. He didn’t have to do this. He seems like a nice guy from what little I know of him. I know he is protective of Lexi so he can’t be all bad. I walk out of the and I see Jesse and two others I recognise that fought with Jesse but don’t know their names. “ Thanks for the clothes.” “ Not a problem. I wasn’t sure if you remember the way back.” Jesse said. “ You are right I don’t.” I laughed.

I held my hand out to the girl first, “ Luther.” She grabs it “ Melissa, Gamma.” The guy holds his hand out and says “ Jackson, Gamma.” “ I would like to know how you know Lexi but right now I need to see my girl. My wolf is going nuts.” I explained. They just nod and lead the way. When we get to the pack hospital I see the Alpha pacing outside of a room. I quicken my step “ Did something happen to Lexi?” I hurriedly asked. “ The doctor is still in with her. I called my Elders and after you check on Lexi I would like you to talk to them if you will.” Alpha asked me.

“ May I ask why?” I asked. “ Will talk about it later. I can practically see your wolf pacing. We will find out about Lexi first. The rest can wait.” Alpha said. I’m glad he understands I don’t want to do shit until I know how Lexi is doing. “ Thank you sir.” I said with respect. Before anyone can say anything else the door opens. “ Luther, this is our pack doctor Thorp.” Alpha said. “ Doctor, how is my mate?” I asked. I didn’t have time for pleasantries. I shake my head. I need to respect my elders no matter what pack they belong to.

“ I’m sorry doctor for my rudeness. I want to know how Lexi is doing but that is no excuse.” I said. The doctor just laughs “ No worries young Alpha. I know how mates are. As for the young lady. Despite her injuries and her blood loss she is doing very well. Remarkably well.” Thorp scratches his head. “ Is there a problem, Thorp?” “ What do you know about this girl? I have to be honest, she is confusing me.” Thorp said.

“ What do you mean?” I asked. “ Well she smells human. Sort of. And she is already healing.” Thorp says. “ She is what?” I was shocked. I know there are things Lexi can do that no human should be able to do but the list just keeps getting bigger. “ She is healing. At wolf speed. And I feel a connection to her.” Thorp said. The Alpha steps in “ Thorp I have called the Elders. Hopefully they will have some answers for us. But yes, Lexi is special. How about we let this boy see his mate before his wolf gets cranky.” “ Oh of course. She is resting now. And she needs it.” Thorp said.

I nod. I won’t disturb her. I just want to see her. I walk in and notice Jesse and them come in behind me. Lexi is lying on a bed covered up. They removed her clothes and put her in a hospital gown. They cleaned all the blood off of her and banagded her scratches and bites. I see an Iv hooked up to her. If it weren’t for that you would think she was sleeping. I sit on the edge of the bed and take her hand feeling the familiar sparks. Goddess how I love those sparks. I will never get tired of them. I can’t wait to mark her.

I kiss her forehead “ Just rest baby. You fought hard. I’ll be here watching over you. We all will.” Diesel whimpers not liking seeing Lexi like this. We want her to smile, and laugh. We want to see her cheeks turn pink when she blushes. I pull back and notice she is glowing. It is faint but it is there. “ She is trying to calm you. She can sense your wolf is upset.” I hear a female voice say from the door. I look over and see Patsy looking at Lexi with worried eyes.

Patsy comes over and sits on the other side of the bed. She pushes some hair behind Lexi’s ear like a mother would do a small child. You can see the love Patsy has for Lexi. “ Patsy, you know about Lexi? What she is?” Alpha asks. Patsy never takes her eyes off Lexi. I can see her smile. “ Yes, Alpha. I know some things. Not all. You guys might want to gather close. I have a little story to tell.” I look back and see the Alpha, Jesse, Melissa and Jackson. As well as four guys I have never seen before and the guy from yesterday.

“ I have to say Aiden. I’m very disappointed in you. You have no idea what you gave up. But that is for you to deal with. Elders and Alpha I will tell you what I know. First Lexi is my goddaughter. When she was born I was there. Her parents were members of the Everclaw pack.” Patsy said. “ The pack that was destroyed years ago?” Alpha asked. “ Twenty years ago in three weeks to be exact. They were all killed shortly after Lexi was born. You see when Lexi was born we knew she was different. She came out glowing. Like she is now. So the Elders were called. When they came they saw a mark on Lexi’s shoulder and went into research mode. With the help of Elder Samual they found out how special she was. But kept it quiet. For everyone’s safety.” Patsy said.

“ If the pack was wiped out, how did Lexi survive?” A guy asked. I don’t know who he is but I’m going to guess and Elder. “ Elder Samual, found out Lexi’s life was in danger and helped them go into hiding. They went south to Florida with her grandma. Samuel arranged for an Alpha down there to take them in and protect them. But never told anyone where. The original plan was they would return here when Lexi turned eighteen so Issac could train her. For what I’m not sure. Like I said, everything was kept quiet. The plan changed a little when Lexi’s parents were killed. The Alpha insisted Lexi stay longer. He started training her to control the glow, her strength and speed. So she would blend in with humans better.” Pasty took a breath.

“ Just before her grandma died she called me. She was going to send Lexi up here for school and asked if I would help Lexi meet Samuel. But he has already passed. I have watched over her since she got here. I just didn’t know what to do.” Patsy said. “ She is losing control lately and I don’t know how to help her.”

“ Patsy, you said Samual knew about her.” Alpha asked. “ Yes, I’m sure if you look in his old notes you should find what you need to know about Lexi. He is the only one who knew everything. The rest of us were kept in the dark for Lexi’s safety.” Patsy said. I heard one guy yell “ I will tell you what I find.” as he ran out the door. “ Pasty, Lexi did Lexi know her parents were wolves?” I asked. Patsy shook her head “ No she knows nothing about this world. Or herself. Everyone thought it would be safer.”

“ Patsy, this won’t change anything. Lexi is my mate no matter what. But does she have a wolf?” I asked. Like I said I don’t care. I’m just curious. Patsy smiles and rubs Lexi’s arm,“ Yes, she is in there. She will come out when the time is right. Hopefully the Elders will be able to help. Lexi needs guidance that I can’t give her.” She turns to look at me “ We haven’t been introduced yet. But Lexi has told me about you. I haven’t seen her smile like that. Thank you.” “ You don’t have to thank me. Lexi is a gift from the Goddess. I accept her for who she is. I like to see her smile.” Diesel purred in agreement. I just hope she wakes up soon. I get the feeling all our worlds are about to change.
