Valerose

It took me a few days and a few dreams to figure out what Lexi was talking about. Then I felt stupid for not realizing it sooner. I needed to tune myself into Lexi. I needed to feel her energy. It was a matter of me shutting my head off and trusting my instincts. Today felt like the day to do it too. So I gathered the wolves I freed and along with Embrose we set out. Yes, I freed twenty wolves. I did it for Lexi. I wanted to show her how serious I was about her. I will be freeing the rest soon. I can’t rule by Lexi’s side if I’m still holding wolves captive. Yes, I have accepted that my life is going to change. I’m hoping for the better. I wanted to fight my attraction to Lexi. I didn’t want any part of her or her wolves. I wanted to rule over everyone.

That was until the Vampire Goddess got involved. She showed me what life could be like with Lexi. I have told you about some of those visits. What no one knows is that Amira showed me my life if I chose to continue on the path I was on. She showed me several outcomes. All of them led to my death at Lexi’s hands. Not her mates but Lexi. Don’t get me wrong, her mates are there. They fought beside Lexi.

However, my death was at Lexi’s hands every time. The only things that change are when she kills me and how. One time she ripped my heart out of my chest with her bare hands. Another she tore my head off my shoulders. The time difference is days or months from the time I met her at school. I died alone at the hands of my Goddess-given mate. That is not how I wanted to die. I knew what I needed to do. I felt my Goddess wasn’t nudging me to listen to my heart she was pushing me.

As I watched Lexi with the wolves I freed I knew I made the correct choice. She is a natural queen. The way she calmed down not only the free wolves but her guardians. I could see all nine ready to fight to protect their queen. That fact that she had nine is amazing. She is only supposed to have six. That is just who she is. People gravitate to her. It wasn’t just her guardians who were ready to fight. It was warriors, Alphas, Lunas and I believe some omegas. If I came to fight even with the warriors I brought there is no way in hell I would win. I have fifty people with me. If I had to guess Lexi has over two hundred ready to fight with her.

I heard what they said as we approached. They praised her. They swore their loyalty to her. Lexi didn’t even ask for it. No, Lexi swore her loyalty and protection to them. I heard her vow to give her life to protect not only the packs that are present but all shifters. Lexi is truly one of a kind. While watching Lexi I was also paying attention to Embrose to see how he was feeling about Lexi. If he figured out that he won’t be having any part of Lexi. Imagine my surprise when I saw that he wasn’t looking at Lexi. He was looking at a female guardian. He had a look of confusion and attraction on his face. So did the guardian. I noticed another guardian sniffing the air. It got worse as the wolves got closer.

I’m not sure but I think Embrose and the other wolf have met their mates. The wolf I’m not worried about. Embrose may have his work cut out for him. That woman doesn’t look like she will accept Embrose easily. She is a guardian for Goddess' sake she is not going to bow down to him like he is used to. He needs it. I can tell both Goddesses are at work. Just like they were with Lexi and me.

Lexi watches the last of the wolves leave being escorted by the guardian that was sniffing around. I believe Lexi called him Jackson. As well as the Luna’s. During the interaction, I noticed that Lexi’s mates let her take the lead and they were just back up. Interesting. I know I am going to have to see where I fit in their dynamic. That is for another time. Now that the wolves are out of sight Lexi turns her full attention towards me. Did I mention that she looks fucking fanominal in that dress she is wearing?

She emulates the Goddess she is. The dress accentuates her curves without being trashy. If this was any other situation I would be taking my time to look over her. If this goes the way I am hoping I will not only get to look at those curves for the rest of my life but I will get to have my hands on them. “ Thank you, Val,” she said. “ I don’t want your thanks, Lexi,” I told her. Lexi walks to me until she is just a few feet in front of me. Then she stops her other two mates at her side.

I can see that they are talking to each other through what I have learned is a link. All shifters can do it within their group. Lexi is the exception. She can link anyone she chooses. Yes, I have been learning about shifters and Lexi. What I can that is. I figure I will learn as I go. Lexi lifts her head so she can look me in my eyes. I can see her wolf just at the surface ready if she is needed. “ Then what do you want, Val?” Lexi and her wolf ask me. I do something I never thought I would do. I bowed to a wolf. “ You, my queen,” I said when I stood up.

I watch Lexi move her eyes to her mates before she looks at me and smirks. Lexi steps away from her mates and sways her hips to stand in front of me. Damn, my dick is hard as steel looking at her. “ In what way do you want me, Val?” Lexi asks in a low seductive voice. I can tell she knows why I am here and what I want. “ Make him say it.” I heard giggling in my head. I know it wasn’t Lexi because the voice was different. It has to be her wolf. I know Lexi can link me but her wolf? “ Get used to me old man.” her wolf giggles again.

Lexi’s wolf is giggling in my head. I look at Lexi and her mates while this is going on. It looks like the three of them are trying not to laugh at my reaction. I’m not sure if I will get used to having another person in my head. I will deal with that later. I look around and see several people looking at me waiting for an answer to Lexi’s question. None is more important than Lexi. I can tell by the look on her face that me saying it is important to her. “ You finally caught on.” the wolf giggles. So weird.

I raise my voice loud enough that all the wolves present can hear. Not that I need to since they have enhanced hearing like me. I just didn’t want their to be any doubt in their minds. “ I do not want a war with you, my queen,” I stated. I made sure to look Lexi in her eyes when I said “ I am accepting a different fate. I came here to claim my Goddess-gifted mate.” I hear gasps and confused “ What?” coming from all directions.

The only reaction I pay attention to is Lexi and her other mates. I need to know I won’t be killed for trying to claim what is mine. Well, partly mine. I see the mate nod. I need to learn their names. Lexi on the other hand is smiling at me. Not her sweet smile. Or a fake one. This is what I can only describe as mischievous. “ You are a lucky man to be gifted a mate. From what I understand it is rare for Vampires to be given one.” Lexi said. I noticed she glanced at Embrose when she said it. I think she was telling him something. Like, don’t fuck up your chance.

“ It is rare my queen. It is not a gift I intend on taking for granted.” I tell her. Lexi smiles even brighter. “ Good answer, old man.” her wolf says again. I try to talk to the wolf not sure how this works. “ If you are going to continue to insult me could you tell me your name?” I asked hoping it worked. “ My name is Arya. I’m not insulting you. I’m speaking the truth. You are old” Arya giggled.

“ It is good to know that you are accepting your gift. How do you plan to claim your mate? Words won’t be enough. I’m sure you can understand that considering your history with wolves.” Lexi smirks. It seems my girl wants me to prove myself to her. I can do that. Here goes nothing.
