Chapter 76
Ryan
That smile. For that smile I would give Lexi the moon and stars. I would give up my title if she asked me to. I see the look on Luther’s face. He feels the same. “ So you want to fight with one of my warriors?” I asked her. I know she had trained with Luther’s warriors but I don’t know the extent. Part of me wants to deny her and keep her by my side but something Luther said is sticking with me. He told me to never underestimate her. If she says she can fight I will let her. “ Yes, please Ryan.” she said. “ I have a condition. If it gets too much you tell us.” I told her. “ Yes, I promise.” Lexi said. I look around at the warriors and see Mitch. I call him forward. “ Lexi, this is Mitch. One of my most trusted warriors. Mitch, this is Lexi, your future Luna. She would like to spar with you.” I said. I see the uncertainty in Mitch’s eyes. I don’t blame him, Lexi is tiny compared to the warriors.
“ Please Mr. Mitch. Just some light sparring. I will even go easy on you.” Lexi pleads, poking her bottom lip out. “ It would be my honor, Luna.” Mitch says. He nods at me letting me know he will go easy and make sure not to hurt her. Lexi jumps up and down clapping her hands together “ Yea. This is going to be awesome.” I love how excited she is just to spar. Lexi and Mitch walk ten feet away from us. They face each other in an attack stance. Luther stands by my side as we watch. Everyone else is around in a circle. I see they are as curious as I am.
“ Don’t worry. Lexi won’t hurt your guy.” Luther chuckles.” Too much.” he finishes. I am about to ask what he means when I see Mitch charge Lexi. Lexi doesn’t move until Mitch is less than a foot in front of her. Then she jumps up and does a front flip over Mitch landing behind him. She did it so fast that if I hadn’t been watching I would have missed it. Mitch looks to where Lexi was standing then behind him clearly shocked. Lexi just stands there and smiles. Mitch throws his left arm for a punch that Lexi easily deflected by raising her arm to block.
Mitch throws another punch. Lexi ducks, swings her arm out and punches Mitch in the ribs. The force makes Mitch stumble. I was shocked she was able to do it and so was Mitch. Mitch shook his head like he couldn’t believe it. I watch Lexi take the lead for the next shot. She balls up her fist and cracks Mitch under the jaw. I can hear Mitch’s teeth jam together as his head flies back. Mitch recovers quickly and tries to sweep Lexi’s legs out from under her. I see Lexi jump up higher than any of us can go. She hovers for a second before she drops in a crouch.
“ No powers Lexi. Make it a fair fight.” Luther yells out. Lexi keeps her focus on Mitch. The exchange blows but Mitch is having a hard time gaining the upper hand. Lexi is just too fast. The only thing you saw was a glowing blur. I’m so focused on the fight I didn’t take in my surroundings so I didn’t notice my parents had arrived until dad asked “ So why is the young girl fighting Mitch?” Mom asks “ And why does it look like she is winning?” Tyler chimes in “ I would say they were tied.” “ No way, Lexi has got in more punches than Mitch.” Jake says. “ If he can catch her Mitch might get the upper hand.” Isabelle said. “ He can try but unless Lexi wants to be caught he won’t.” Luther said. Luther looks at me and says “ But it is fun when you do.” I will keep that in mind. We might have to have a little private race.
“ That still does tell me why she is fighting, or who she is.” dad said. “ Is she glowing?” mom whispers. “ Lexi, honey. Why don’t you two take a break?” I yelled out. Lexi and Mitch break apart. “ Thanks Mitch. That was fun.” Lexi said. “ Yes, it was. Anytime you want to spar, come find me.” Mitch said. Lexi is so happy she is bouncing. “ Ryan, can I spar with Mitch again sometime? I might let him beat me next time.” Lexi asks when she gets to my side. I wrap my arm around her waist and kiss the top of her head.
“ Sure honey.” I said. Luther comes over and kisses Lexi’s cheek “ You did good baby.” I can see the confusion on my parents face. It gets worse when Lexi’s glow surrounds the three of us. “ Mom, dad, this beauty is my mate, Lexi. The man standing on the other side is her other mate Alpha Luther Riverclaw from the Riverclaw pack.” I introduced. I squeezed Lexi tighter against me. “ Lexi, Luther, these are my parents. My dad Kent and my mom Skylyne.” I said. Lexi holds out her hand to my mom first, “ It is nice to meet you.” But my mom doesn’t take it.
“ Ryan, I don’t know what this girl is trying to pull but no one can have two mates.” mom said to me. “ I know you have wanted a mate for a long time but this is not the way. Get rid of this girl. Throw her in a cell until we can figure out what she did to you.” mom said. What the hell mom? “ Mom , I know it is odd. I thought so at first as well. But after it was explained to me it made sense. And once we explain it to you, you will understand.” I explained.
“ You are talking nonsense. I have had enough of this. Guards take the girl, this human, to the cells and question her. Find out what she did to my son by any means necessary.” mom called out. I love my mom but I will not allow anyone to touch my mate. Even her. I don’t understand what her problem is. Nobody moves as Lexi steps forward. Her glow is blue and spreading out surrounding all of us like she is protecting us. “ Since you are Ryan’s mom I won’t hurt you. But no one is touching me or my mates.I don’t know what your problem is with me. But I assure you everything your son said was true. If you would shut up for a minute and listen you would know the truth. Your son is my mate. Same as Luther. “Lexi said.
“ Stop with your lies. No can have two mates. You have done something to my son. Someone grab her. Now!.”mom growls. Lexi pushes her glow out more. I watch my dad as his eyes get big. “ Skylyn shut up before you get hurt.” dad yelled. “ You can’t possibly believe this crap? Why aren’t you doing anything?” mom asked. Dad doesn’t answer. He walks up to Lexi and bows his head. “ It is you. You are real. You are the prophecy child.” dad said, star struck. “ I am but I go by Lexi, sir.” Lexi said, extending her hand. Dad grabs it with one hand and places the other on top of hers. “ It is an honor to meet you. And to have you as part of our family. We are truly blessed. Welcome.” dad told her.
