Chapter 146

Lexi

After my alphas took good care of me twice more we fell asleep wrapped around each other. Well, I was wrapped around them. How does that work you ask? This time my head was on Luther’s chest and my arm around his waist with his arm on it. My legs are twisted with Ryan’s, his arm around my waist and his head on my shoulder. Yes, we like to keep close contact. I would lay on top of both of them if I could. Oh, don’t get me wrong. They would lay side by side so I could lay on them. The problem is we move so much, at least I do we would never stay that way. We fall asleep one way and wake up another. Sometimes it is funny as hell. Like the time Ryan and Luther’s legs got twisted and I somehow had gotten pushed to the outside of them.

I am always in the middle. Ryan calls it a Lexi sandwich. I call it heaven. It makes me wonder how it is going to work when Val gets here. If he gets here. I will have to line them up and lay across all three so I’m touching all of them. I like it that way. Or Val will not want to sleep with us. Or just want to sleep with me from time to time. Ahh, this is so frustrating. That brings me to the dream I had. Mother contacted me again and she wasn’t alone. And neither was I. Let me tell you what happened. I woke up in the Goddess realm. The same field of wildflowers I always wake up in. Not far from me Mother was sitting on a bench waiting for me with a smile and a hug. I got up off the ground and walked over to her waiting arms.

Before I can question what I’m doing there I hear a confused Luther calling out “ Baby?” I pull out of my mother’s arms and turn to see Luther and Ryan standing where I was just at. They walk over towards us while I turn back to Mother to question her. She has never brought my mates here before. I wonder what is different about this visit. “ What I need to say, is all three of you need to here.” Mother told us. Of course I didn’t need to voice my question. She knew what I was going to ask. She motions for us to sit next to her on the wooden bench. I go to sit beside Mother. Just when my ass was about to hit wood I’m picked up by Ryan and placed on their lap. Yes, I said there. Ryan and Luther sat so close to each other that their legs were touching. So now I’m sitting on each leg.

I want to be embarrassed or try to move because come on we are in front of Mother. What stops me is her giggling at us. “ That is what I like to see in the bonds I match up,” she said beaming at us. I wait for her to tell us why she brought us here. “ Ryan, Luther, I know it must feel strange for you to be here but I assure you I wouldn’t if it wasn’t important. You see when you told Lexi that you would accept Valerose as her third mate you set things in motion,” she tells us. I’m about to ask what she means when in the blink of an eye a woman wearing all black appears beside Mother. Luther and Ryan instantly become alert and ready to fight the possible danger.


“ Easy, my loves. That is Amira, the Vampire Goddess. She won’t hurt you.” I told them. They still kept a tight hold on me not letting me move so I bowed to her the best way I could. “ Goddess,” I said. Luther and Ryan bow but that is it. Rude much. “ No need to bow to me. I’m here for you.” Amira said. I tilted my head in confusion. “ Selene invited me. Since I decided I wanted you to be mates with Valerose I have awaked more and more each day with Selene’s help. You, Ryan and Luther, accepting that Lexi has a third mate makes me believe I made the right decision. Also, the changes I have seen in Valerose.” she said.

“ Changes? So, he has suddenly stopped attacking people for no reason.” Ryan scoffed holding me a little tighter. Ryan may have accepted that I have another mate but that doesn’t mean he is thrilled about it being Val. I think he would rather deal with Aiden. He does have a point though. Val just had us attacked and one of his underlings hurt my Luther. He couldn’t have suddenly changed. “ Believe me or not, I know Valerose didn’t order that attack. He was quite angry when he found out. His concern that Lexi may have been hurt was immediate. He wanted to kill not only the ones who attacked you but the ones you sent with a message. I believe he would have if you hadn’t done it already. I must say we are both impressed with the message you sent. It looked painful.” Amira said. It almost sounded like she had pride in her voice.

Mother sat a little taller listening to Amira praise me. “ I had a feeling he wasn’t. Arya did as well. However, I still don’t understand how you think he has changed or that he wants to be mates with me.” I told them. The few timeless we have talked I didn’t get anything from him that would give me any indication he wanted to be with me. Although he didn’t give me any murdering vibes either. He could have tried to kill me the times we met but he didn’t so I have no idea what to think. Amira smiles and waves her hand over the ground. Suddenly a reflection pool appears. That’s so cool. “ Just look,” Amira said pointing to it.

We all look down as an image appears. The first thing we see is Val sleeping in bed shirtless. He looks like he is smiling. I let myself look. He is handsome with clothes on. Now I get a full view of his pale skin, muscled chest and abs. Damn, I am blessed with some seriously hot mates. I will give Mother and Amira that. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t care if they gave me short mates with a belly as long as they treated me well. I would be proud to have any mate on my arm. Mother created them just for me so they must be special no matter what they look like. The picture changes to me, standing on a balcony, looking out at the forest. Val is standing behind me. His arms are wrapped around my waist my hands on top of his. I’m leaning into his chest and he has his chin on my shoulder. Both of us look cozy and content.

That never happened. The next is of me wearing a light blue evening gown in the middle of a ballroom. Val is wearing a tux. We are slow dancing. I look happy smiling up at him. He is looking down at me with love shining in his eyes. I can see Ryan and Luther in the background watching and talking. That never happened either. Another scene shows me pressed against a wall, my arms around Val’s neck. He has his hands on my waist, it looks like he has a tight grip, and we are kissing. I know that has never happened. What are all these images? Amira smiles at me “ These are Valerosa’s dreams. Some are older some are was he is dreaming about right now.” Val is dreaming about me? I don’t look away from the scenes when I say “ He looks happy.” “ He is. When he either dreams of you or is with you are the only times he has been happy his entire vampire life.” Amira told me.

That is the saddest thing I have ever heard. I watch the scene move to Val on a large four-wooden post bed. He is surrounded by maroon sheets that look like silk or satin, maybe. He is sitting up against the headboard with his head back. I’m dressed in a white sheer baby doll teddy sitting across his legs. I am kissing down his chest with his hand in my hair holding me to him. It just gets more heated from there. I don’t want Mother or Amira to see. It is private. I liked what I saw though. I liked that he was thinking about me. I looked up at Amira and asked “ Val dreaming like this. It is just the mate bond, isn’t it?”

“ No child it isn’t child. It is because I saw the change in Valerose when he was around you. Or just thinking of you is why I created the bond. Or helped it along anyway.” she said. Now I am even more confused. Amira continues to explain. “ When I felt the change in Valerose after he discovered you were real. He became obsessed with you. I woke up more and began to pay attention. I noticed when he no longer wanted you dead. I saw when the bond started to form even before you ever met him. And when you met in person I watched it snap into place. I just feed it.”

Wow. Okay. Wow. “ How do I know he won’t fight the bond or reject me,” I asked. Both Mother and Amira smile at me. “ He has already accepted it. Accepted you. He just needs to say the words to you.” Amira said. Mother giggles “ I believe he will be doing that sooner than you think.” “ Ryan, we are going to need a bigger bed,” Luther says laughing. I just shake my head at them. I take a deep breath and focus on Val. I sent a silent message to him. Do I know if he will get it? No clue. It just felt right. Natural. Just like when I connect with Ryan and Luther. The next move is up to Val.
