Chapter 120 Conquering Lindataria
"What are the conditions?" Alan asked instinctively, not really expecting King Rex to agree so easily.
If he did, Alan would actually find it suspicious.
"First, you cannot touch the heart of Lindataria's lord."
"Second, no looting, burning, or killing after the city falls."
Alan raised an eyebrow. These two conditions seemed acceptable.
Although he needed the lord's heart, Lindataria's heart belonged to Central City's lord.
If he took it, King Rex would come after him personally.
His current power wasn't enough to confront King Rex head-on.
Alan smiled ever so slightly.
"If I take nothing after conquering Lindataria, it would seem too fake."
Even though Alan was ready to agree, sometimes negotiating could bring additional benefits.
"Ice King, you really are insatiable. No wonder the princesses can't fully trust you," Andrew said.
Alan spread his hands and said, "Those who know me understand that I'm very honest. If the princesses think otherwise, it just means they don't know me well enough."
Andrew scoffed, "I've investigated everything you've done."
He then added, "Also, Matthew has come to Stellaria. We know everything you did in the newbie village."
Alan wasn't surprised. Matthew had become a monster and would respawn after being killed.
And since Matthew was once the village chief, it wasn't surprising he could leave the newbie village.
"The way Matthew is now... Aand you still employ him." Andrew smiled mysteriously. "Folks grow leaps and bounds in the places you least expect. Ice King, don't underestimate others."
"From what you're saying, Matthew's strength has greatly improved?" Alan asked.
Andrew chuckled, "You'll know when you see Matthew next time."
"Still keeping it from me, huh." Alan felt a bit bored. "Let's not change the subject. I won't ask for too much. I want an equipment evolution scroll."
Alan had considered asking for a lifesteal item, preferably something like a bloodthirsty necklace with percentage lifesteal.
But he ultimately gave up on that idea.
Because, in Alan's view, the priority of an equipment purification amulet was higher.
"That's not possible." Andrew shook his head. "A piece of gold-tier equipment instead."
"I don't lack gold equipment," Alan replied. "If I go through all the trouble to conquer Lindataria and only get a piece of gold equipment, that would be too embarrassing."
"This is the biggest concession I can make. If you still don't agree, then I'll have to spar with you," Andrew said.
Alan raised an eyebrow, a playful glint in his eyes. "Sure, but I'm thinking if I kill you, Stellaria will become very lively."
"Kill me? Do you think you have the ability?" Andrew sneered.
Alan's lips curled into a faint smile. "Wanna try?"
Andrew's eyes narrowed. He didn't know where Alan's confidence came from.
But remembering that Alan had killed the demon king's son Grelorin and caused continuous bleeding for Ashley and King Rex, he hesitated.
Not only that, but Ice King was blessed by the Ice Goddess. Fighting him would bring trouble from the Ice Goddess, regardless of the outcome.
"Fine, an equipment evolution scroll it is," Andrew finally agreed.
"Pleasure doing business." Alan smiled.
Andrew stared at Alan. "Ice King, I hope you don't go back on your word."
Alan waved his hand. "I've always said I'm an honest person. I won't break my promise."
Hearing this, Andrew chuckled lightly, clearly not believing Alan's words.
After sending Andrew off, Alan finally smiled.
The rewards he was about to receive were substantial.
First, there was Ashley's pre-quest scroll for the blessing of the gods, which seemed completely achievable.
Second, the negotiation with Andrew also included the blessing of the gods and an equipment evolution scroll.
Third, the rewards from the black-robed leader's task to conquer Lindataria also included an equipment evolution scroll and the blessing of the gods.
Completing these three tasks would grant him three blessings of the gods.
As for the next steps, the first was to conquer Lindataria and claim the easiest reward.
Lindataria!
Seeing Alan attacking Snow City, Frank's anxious heart finally calmed down.
"It seems this tactic is effective. Although we sacrificed a lot, the city is safe, and those higher-ups are troubled," Frank said.
The old man behind him smiled. "You're wise."
Just as he finished speaking, someone rushed in from outside.
"Bad news, something terrible has happened."
Frank snorted, "Why are you so flustered?"
"City Lord, the Ice King is here. The Ice King is attacking the city again."
Frank jumped up. "What did you say? The Ice King is here again? I have no grudge against the Ice King. Why doesn't he raid other Central Cities and instead comes to attack Lindataria?"
Frank felt wronged but had no choice.
"Activate the city protection array," Frank commanded.
Based on previous experience, Ice King couldn't break their city protection array.
Previously, when Lindataria activated the array, Ice King stopped, and the same happened with Snow City.
Therefore, Frank firmly believed that activating the city protection array would render the Ice King helpless.
Not only Frank thought this way; many others did too.
At this stage, even with Alan's attack power, breaking Central City's protection array by force would take a lot of time.
However, every array had a weakness.
Once the weakness was found and destroyed, the array would naturally collapse.
And Alan happened to know the weak point of Lindataria's protection array.
In less than a minute another person rushed into the city lord's mansion.
Frank glanced at him and asked, "How is it? Has the Ice King left?"
The person knelt down and trembled. "City Lord, the protection array has been destroyed by the Ice King. He is now heading towards the mansion."
He then continued, "And for some reason, most of the city guards are missing, and the commanders have all disappeared."
"What?" Frank exclaimed. "The commanders have disappeared? What are they planning? Treason?"
