Chapter 33 Blackmailing Daniel

Without much thought, Alan chose the Nightmare-level of the Lost Princess dungeon.

In less than twenty minutes, Alan cleared it.

However, the result was that the Icefire Ore did not appear.

'Could I have been wrong from the start? Is there only one Icefire Ore here?' Alan thought to himself.

'No, that can't be right. Charles had no reason to lie to me about this.'

'Could there be two hidden game dungeons in this mine? The probability of that is very, very low.'

'Since it's not two hidden game dungeons, then there's another possibility: the drop rate!'

The Icefire Ore might be here, but because of the drop rate, it didn't drop when he first cleared the hard-level game dungeon.

With this in mind, Alan re-entered the Lost Princess game dungeon.

The battles he needed to participate in next were already quite challenging. Even if he didn't get the last Icefire Ore here, he could at least use it to farm health points.

And farm he did, five times in a row.

Alan's judgment was correct. On his fifth run, he finally saw it in the clearance rewards.

[You have obtained Icefire Ore +1.]

A satisfied smile appeared on Alan's face. Now that he had all three pieces of Icefire Ore from the newbie village, whether or not he could break the seal next would depend on him.

Moreover, because he had continuously farmed the Lost Princess, Alan's health points had now exceeded 120,000. Coupled with the Ninefold Longbow, his combat power had significantly increased.

After leaving the mine, Alan did not go to Charles or David. He went straight to the cliff.

As Alan had expected, Daniel was still there. It seemed he knew the next battlefield would be here, so he was personally guarding the place.

"Ice King, why are you here again?"

Alan didn't answer the question but instead took out a piece of Icefire Ore.

Seeing the Icefire Ore in Alan's hand, Daniel's usually calm expression suddenly changed.

He smiled at Alan and said, "Ice King, you found the Icefire Ore, that's great."

"Daniel, what exactly is this Icefire Ore? Both you and David are looking for it."

Hearing this, Daniel smiled. "It's a very important ore, very useful to both of us. Ice King, give it to me, and I will give you an unexpected reward."

Alan squinted his eyes slightly. This "unexpected reward" from Daniel made him a bit hesitant.

"Could you make it clear??" Alan looked at Daniel.

Daniel's face darkened slightly. He realized that Alan was trying to negotiate with him.

"A gold-level ring."

Alan shook his head.

"I heard David offered a platinum-level necklace."

Daniel's face darkened further. "He's a blacksmith; in terms of equipment, I can't compare to him. But if you're willing to give me this Icefire Ore, I can give you a master-level talent awakening stone. Almost any talent can be awakened with a master-level talent awakening stone."

Alan pondered for a moment. He couldn't use the master-level talent awakening stone, but James and Robert both had master-level talents. Giving them the awakening stone could help them awaken their talents sooner and make them become stronger.

"Not enough. Two stones."

Alan held the upper hand now and naturally wouldn't give up so easily.

"Ice King, I only have one, and it's the best thing you can get in the newbie village."

Alan remained indifferent. "Then two gold-level rings."

Daniel's face darkened. Alan's price was starting to anger him.

"Ice King, if the Icefire Ore falls into David's hands, the newbie village will be plunged into chaos, and it will be a disaster for you adventurers as well."

"I'm willing to pay the price to prevent this catastrophe," Daniel added.

Alan sighed, "Daniel, I really want to help you, but I'm an adventurer. What I seek is profit.

"Sorry."

After saying this, Alan turned to leave.

"Stop!"

Daniel's expression turned sinister, and a murderous intent emanated from him.

"What? Daniel, are you going to kill me?

"Go ahead; losing one level doesn't matter to me."

Hearing this, Daniel's aura subsided.

That's right. Alan was an adventurer. Even if he could kill Alan here, the result would only be Alan losing one level.

Once back in the newbie village, Alan could still give the Icefire Ore to David.

"Fine, I agree to your terms."

A satisfied smile appeared on Alan's face as he completed the transaction with Daniel.

[Thunder Ring: Gold Level.]

[Requirements: Level 10, Archer.]

[Effect 1: Attack Power +350.]

[Effect 2: Critical Hit +30%.]

[Effect 3: Armor Penetration +15%.]

[Effect 4: 5% chance to paralyze the opponent.]

[Effect 5: 5% chance to deal double critical damage.]

[Effect 6: 5% chance to trigger an area lightning strike.]

[Durability: 100.]

Two rings with identical attributes.

Alan frowned slightly. The attributes included three special effects, but the trigger probabilities were relatively low.

Fortunately, the identical attributes of the two rings allowed Alan to deal significant damage effectively.

Swapping out two rings from the Treefolk Set resulted in a 20-point decrease in recovery and a loss of over a thousand health points.

However, with the full ten-piece set effect of the Treefolk Set, Alan could still manage the situation.

"Daniel, a pleasant deal," Alan said with a smile.

Daniel's expression, however, was not so pleasant. After all, anyone would be unhappy being blackmailed like this.

Two gold-level rings, and only for level 10. Useful for Alan at this stage, but merely transitional equipment.

If it weren't for the upcoming potential confrontations with David and Daniel, Alan wouldn't have asked for equipment. Free attribute points might have been more appealing.

Despite these thoughts, Alan headed back to the newbie village.

At the blacksmith shop, David's expression turned grim as he saw Alan.

"Ice King, what are you doing here again?"

Hearing David's angry tone, Alan knew that he must have found out something.

"David, didn't you ask me to find the Icefire Ore? I'm here to submit the quest, and this is your attitude?"

David sneered, "Ice King, stop pretending. Charles saw you trade the Icefire Ore to Daniel. What do you have to give me now?"

Alan sighed, "David, there's not just one piece of Icefire Ore."

With that, Alan shook his head in feigned disappointment. "Since you don't want the Icefire Ore, I'll just leave."

As he said this, Alan turned to leave.

David's expression changed, and he quickly moved to block Alan's path.

His attitude shifted, and he spoke to Alan in a friendly manner.

"Ice King, I was just joking with you. From what you said, do you still have another piece of Icefire Ore?"

Alan nodded. "That's right, I do have another piece of Icefire Ore. But now I think it might be better to give it all to Daniel.

"At least Daniel wouldn't treat me with such an attitude."
