Chapter 164 Ashley's Ransom Money!
Alan didn't say a word, or maybe his response was an arrow. He finally spoke, "In that case, Princess Ashley, you're first!"
Arrows rained down, and a platinum shield appeared in Ashley's hand. She raised it while pulling out a teleportation talisman with her other hand.
Alan smirked. He scoffed, "Nice try, but a platinum shield won't save you."
The talisman in Ashley's hand wasn't an instant teleportation one; it needed about three seconds to activate.
But three seconds were enough.
[Instant Slash!]
Alan blurred and appeared right in front of her.
His divine whip struck hard, and cracks formed on the shield.
Ashley was stunned. This was a platinum shield; it should withstand thousands of regular hits.
But one strike from Alan, and it cracked.
No time to think. Alan's whip came down again.
With a loud bang, the shield shattered, and disbelief spread across Ashley's face.
Impossible!
Alan grinned. The divine whip was just too powerful.
Two strikes to break a platinum shield. Ordinary platinum gear would’ve shattered in one.
Heavy shields were supposed to be tougher, harder to destroy.
Alan's whip came down again.
Ashley's face changed into panic, wings sprouted from her back, and she soared into the sky.
But Alan followed, and the whip struck again.
[Critical hit!]
[-860010.]
A massive damage number flashed, over 800,000 in one hit, leaving Ashley terrified.
The worst part? Alan was immune to ice, making her attacks useless.
She summoned shield after shield, trying to block him.
But it was hopeless.
Under the divine whip, her shields were like paper, easily torn apart.
This was Alan's terror.
"How can you be so strong?" Ashley's face was full of disbelief.
Alan's attacks were too powerful.
And she couldn't keep up with his speed. She was stuck on defense.
But her defense was futile.
Her magic defenses were useless, and the platinum shield only blocked two hits. She only had one left.
She couldn't escape, couldn't fight back, and her defenses were worthless.
"Ice King, what do you want?" she asked, frantically. Ashley was desperate. Alan's strength was beyond her imagination.
Alan replied, "You know me, I'm all about profit. I don't care about your schemes, but no one cheats me out of my rewards!"
He added, "Not you, not Leona, no one!!"
Ashley gasped. Today, she truly saw Alan's terror.
With such power, she had no chance of winning, not even escaping.
Ashley said desperately, "Fine, I'll agree to your terms." She knew if she didn't, she was dead.
Alan smirked. He said, "That was before. Now, the terms are doubled."
Ashley protested, "Ice King, I'm here to negotiate in good faith!"
"Good faith?" Alan sneered. "Do you really think I believe that, Ashley?"
"Don't waste your time!" Ashley snapped.
He snapped, "I should be saying that to you." Alan's eyes flashed coldly as he blurred and charged at her.
"Stop!" Ashley shouted angrily. "Let me go, and name your price!"
Alan's smirk widened. He'd been waiting for this.
Killing Ashley would only get him a first-kill reward, which he didn't care about.
Alan said, "The dungeon key for the Snow Corpse's Footsteps, the Eternal Scroll, the pre-quest scroll for the Blessing of the Gods, and 3,000 free attribute points."
"You're truly greedy," Ashley cursed as she gritted her teeth. "The dungeon key is held by the king, and I've already given you the pre-quest scroll."
Ashley countered, "The Eternal Scroll and 3,000 free attribute points, that's my limit."
Alan frowned, and Ashley added, "You know I'm not lying. This is my limit."
"Fine," Alan accepted.
He'd made the demand to squeeze the last bit out of Ashley.
What he really wanted was the Eternal Scroll and the attribute points.
Leona had given him an Eternal Scroll before, so Ashley having one was possible.
And 3,000 free attribute points were likely all Ashley could offer.
NPCs usually gave under 10 points, but someone like Ashley could offer more.
But even she had limits.
With the Eternal Scroll and 3,000 free attribute points in hand, Alan smiled, satisfied.
Alan threatened, "Go back and tell Leona, if she doesn't give me the reward for supporting her to become king, I'll pull her off the throne."
Ashley looked at Alan meaningfully. She knew he wasn't joking. He could really do it.
Ashley relented, "Fine, I'll relay your message to the new king."
Ashley left, and Alan immediately used the Eternal Scroll on the Nether Bow.
This made the Nether Bow indestructible.
Alan was relieved. With the Nether Bow indestructible, his battles would be much easier.
Returning to the Blackwater Lake Turtle, Alan continued farming for health points.
At the same time, he improved the attributes of the Nether Bow.
The stronger the monsters the Nether Bow killed, the more attributes it gained.
He farmed for an entire day and night.
Alan's health points increased by 180,000, reaching over 7.4 million.
The high damage made it difficult for Alan to farm health points efficiently.
He had to get the dungeon key for the Snow Corpse's Footsteps because it was the only way to quickly increase his health points in a short time.
After a day and night, Alan's blacksmithing avatar had reached the level of a first-tier blacksmith.
He could start forging life gems!
Alan spent 10 million gold coins to buy materials for forging life gems. Don't ask why. Just know that he's rich.
