Chapter 81 Alan's Ultimate Showdown with the Snow Serpent

But Alan didn't lose heart. After experiencing the difficulty of this level, he didn't even consider passing it in one go.

For now, he would push through as much as possible, treating it as a way to familiarize himself with the dungeon and understand its mechanics.

From what he observed so far, when farming the Ice and Snow Werewolf, he had moved too quickly. If he slowed down, he could stack an additional fifty to a hundred thousand health points.

That way, his basic attack damage and health cap would both increase.

The direct boost might not be much, especially since the divine power here would reduce it significantly. But given the current situation, Alan couldn't afford to miss out on any attribute accumulation.

Every little bit helps!

Arrows continued to pierce the air.

Alan finally knocked the Ice and Snow Serpent into the air.

It was dozens of times harder than knocking ordinary monsters into the air.

The effort was a huge drain on Alan's mental energy.

But he had no choice.

He had to withstand the pressure, or he would face disaster.

The Ice and Snow Serpent had thirty million health points. Alan dealt over thirty thousand damage per second, which meant he could only inflict about 1.9 million damage per minute.

If it followed the Ice and Snow Werewolf's script and activated Super Armor, what then?

The Ice and Snow Serpent would likely regenerate health quickly.

In other words, with his current damage output, it would take Alan  about forty minutes to defeat one Ice and Snow Serpent.

That was assuming no mistakes and no appearance of a second Ice and Snow Serpent appeared.

Just thinking about it made Alan's scalp tingle.

But looking at it from another angle, it wasn't entirely out of reach.

He could stack nine health points per second, totaling 540 health points per minute, and 21,600 health points over forty minutes.

Defeating one Ice and Snow Serpent would allow him to stack that much health, naturally increasing his damage as well.

Of course, these were just Alan's calculations. Whether unexpected surprises would occur was unknown.

But sometimes, surprises come out of nowhere.

Alan had battled the Ice and Snow Serpent for half an hour and was about to succeed when a second Ice and Snow Serpent appeared.

Fuck!

Now, the odds were stacked against him.

Alan struggled with reduced movement, making it almost impossible to dodge and kite.

But he still had one more trick left: the Twin Dragon Shot skill, fired two arrows simultaneously.

It was different from a simple double shot because both arrows in Twin Dragon Shot used the Twisting String Arrow Technique in both arrows, each capable of knockback.

But even with Alan's skill, he couldn't knock two Ice and Snow Serpents into the air simultaneously with Twin Dragon Shot.

While it might work against two ordinary monsters, serpent-type creatures had more stringent knockback resistance.

However, if he only needed to knock one into the air and kite the other, it was feasible.

As Alan expected, after forty-one minutes, the first Ice and Snow Serpent was defeated.

Now, Alan faced the the second Ice and Snow Serpent.

Alan used his usual tactics: knockback and follow-up attacks.

But this time, after just twenty minutes, a third Ice and Snow Serpent appeared.

Alan had figured out the situation by now.

An Ice and Snow Serpent appeared every half hour.

He had to keep kiting.

The previous Ice and Snow Serpent had allowed him to stack 22,000 health points. With the second one appearing eleven minutes earlier, he had stacked a total of 28,000 health points.

Adding the health boost from the Goddess of Life's Tear and James' talent, his health increased to over 36,000.

However, due to the halving effect on all attributes, the actual increase was just over 18,000.

In other words, only this 18,000 could contribute to his damage output.

Each basic attack increased his damage by over 500, adding up to over 1,600 damage per second.

However, this increase was still weak compared to the Ice and Snow Serpent's thirty million health points.

By the time he killed the second Ice and Snow Serpent, twenty minutes had passed since the the appearance of third one.

In other words, in ten minutes, the fourth Ice and Snow Serpent would appear.

For now, he could still hold on.

But what if he had to face three Ice and Snow Serpents simultaneously?

Alan's scalp tingled.

Facing three Ice and Snow Serpents at once meant he had to tank the damage from one of them.

That would certainly put a lot of pressure on him.

Yet at this juncture, Alan had no other choice but to press on with this game dungeon.

After killing the second Ice and Snow Serpent, his basic attack damage per second increased by over 1,900.

Adding the 1,600 damage increase from killing the first Ice and Snow Serpent, Alan's damage had now increased by over 3,500.

An increase of over 3,500 per second meant 210,000 per minute.

In ten minutes, that would only amount to an additional 2.1 million damage.

This damage increase was still too low compared to the Ice and Snow Serpent's health.

Alan pushed himself to the limit and finally killed the third Ice and Snow Serpent.

Then came his real nightmare.

He now faced three Ice and Snow Serpents simultaneously.

Alan stuck to his usual tactics: Twin Dragon Shot.

In fact, with Alan's skill, he could simultaneously use three arrows with the Twisting String Arrow Technique.

But doing so would prevent him from knocking even one Ice and Snow Serpents into the air.

Now Alan could only hope to endure the damage from one Ice and Snow Serpent.

[-10,000!]

[-9,998!]

Alan started taking damage. For now, he could still hold on.

Compared to the Ice and Snow Werewolf, the serpent's attack power was higher, but its attack speed was slightly slower and it didn't have a bleeding effect.

It was just unknown if the Ice and Snow Serpent had any outrageous skills.

As Alan continued to kite, the airborne Ice and Snow Serpent activated Super Armor and fell to the ground.

At this moment, Alan didn't hesitate and chose to use Triple Arrow Shot, fighting three Ice and Snow Serpents simultaneously.

This kind of fight reduced the damage Alan took significantly.

It was then that the 20% slowing effect from the Ice Token equipment became apparent.

In this tug-of-war, Alan's movement speed was impaired, but so was theirs.

Additionally, kiting three monsters at once meant Alan didn't need to worry about knocking them into the air, making the fight easier.

As long as he used the Twisting String Arrow Technique rhythmically, he could remain undefeated.

But Alan quickly abandoned this strategy after a brief consideration.

He knocked one of the Ice and Snow Serpents into the air and continued to deal damage, maximizing his output.

Once the Super Armor state of the Ice and Snow Serpent ended, he continued to attack the Serpent that had just exited Super Armor and killed it.

Next, he argeted the fifth Ice and Snow Serpent, which he had already damaged.

Due to the snowfield's health regeneration, the fifth Ice and Snow Serpent had recovered a lot of health, though not completely.

This realization drove him to maximize his damage output; otherwise, a slight mistake could lead to failure.

Currently, he could still handle three Ice and Snow Serpents with extreme kiting.

Handling four, according to Alan's calculations, wasn't impossible to kite and engage, but the mental strain would be tremendous.
