Alan pushed the door open.
The entrance led to a small courtyard.

The old man nodded. "I do. I've got everything ready for you."
He held out an equipment evolution scroll and a pre-quest scroll for the Blessing of the Gods.
Alan was surprised by his straightforwardness.
"What do you want?" Alan asked.
The old man clearly knew him and his purpose.
"Take me to level 500. Both items are yours."
Alan squinted. "You're only at your third job change. You need a fourth job change to reach level 500."
"Don't worry. If you agree, I can do the fourth job change right now."
The old man stayed calm, but Alan hesitated.
Even at level 200 after the fourth job change, the old man still needed 300 more levels to reach 500.
In this area, killing lower-level monsters didn't give experience points, except for bosses, which gave minimal points unless refreshed in bulk, making it a tough task.
However, if Alan could kill the Sea God, he could complete the task in one go, maximizing his benefits.
Alan said, "Alright, I'll take on this task."
The old man smiled excitedly.

"That's great." Alan smiled.

Alan realized something. Cassius was quite cunning. He knew that relying on killing wild bosses alone wouldn't get him to level 500. The easiest way was to hunt other third and fourth job change NPCs.
Cassius's task was smarter than Dashiell's. Reaching level 500 would make him top in the Land of Chaos, and many experts would die, clearing obstacles for him.
The NPCs in Ragnarok were pretty sharp. What would Cassius think if he knew Alan planned to kill the Sea God to get him to level 500?
"Shouldn't you get on with your fourth job change?" Alan asked.
Cassius nodded and pulled out a light blue shard.
"This shard has divine power; it's from the Sea God."
The voice of the God of the Undead echoed in Alan's mind.
Alan got the hint.
He watched Cassius use the shard to complete his job change.
Half an hour later, Cassius was done.
"I'll be going into seclusion next. I hope you can finish the task soon, Ice King."
"Don't worry, I'll give it my all even if you don't say so." Alan smiled. "If there's nothing else, I'll take my leave."
Leaving the Sinclair family, Alan rode the Flame Turkey King to the Sea God Temple, a sect-like force that valued strength and worshipped the Sea God.
The temple was on an island, and you needed approval from the elders to get in. At the port, a branch of the temple acted as a checkpoint.
Alan entered the branch, where a bunch of followers were listening intently to a skinny elder.
Not wanting to interrupt, Alan sat aside and studied the Sea's True Meaning manual. This didn't sit well with a nearby young man.
He glared at Alan and snapped, "How dare you read another book while the Seawise Elder is speaking."
Alan glanced at him but didn't respond.
The young man got angrier.
He crouched down, reached for Alan's manual, and tried to snatch it.
Before he could touch it, Alan kicked him to the ground.
The kick left the young man badly hurt, his armor cracking, and his health dropping by 701,518.
"What's going on?"
The Seawise Elder's deep voice cut through the room, his eyes locking on them.
The young man, initially scared by Alan's kick, regained his courage when he heard the Seawise Elder speak. He stood up and pointed at Alan, shouting, "Seawise Elder, this guy dared to read another book while you were speaking. He shows no respect for you."
The other followers started criticizing Alan.
"Who is this guy? Wearing a black robe, he doesn't look like a good person."
"The Seawise Elder recently understood the Sea's True Meaning. It's an honor to hear him speak, yet this kid reads another book."
The Seawise Elder, hearing someone read another book while he was speaking, was in a rage.
Since understanding the Sea's True Meaning half a month ago, even at the basic level, his status had risen in the Sea God Temple and among the followers.
This guydared to read another book while he was speaking, which was outrageous.
The Seawise Elder asked, "Do you think what I say isn't as good as what's in your book?"
