Chapter 205 Ophelia Rainfield!
The bandit leader raised his spiked club, pointed it at Alan, and sneered, "Yeah, I'm robbing you. Got a problem with that?"
Alan just raised an eyebrow and lifted his ghostly longbow.
The bandit leader squinted, showing no fear, and even tapped his own forehead. "Go ahead, shoot me if you dare!"
The other bandits laughed, thinking there was no way Alan could take down their boss with one shot.
They didn't believe Alan's attack could even scratch their boss, who had 700,000 health points.
A level 50 archer usually had an attack power of only two to three thousand.
Alan replied, "You asked for it."
The bandit leader still pointed at his head. "Come on, shoot me. Can you manage to hit me?“
The arrow flew through the air.
[Critical hit!]
[-700820.]
With one arrow, Alan drained the bandit leader's health completely.
Alan's arrow could deal 1,180,000 damage, but the leader only had 700,000 health.
The extra health was due to natural regeneration.
[You have killed the bandit leader of Rocky Valley. Since you haven't changed classes, you can't gain experience points.]
Alan knew he couldn't gain experience points.
Could it be that another player killed this guy before I arrived?
Alan wasn't sure, but it didn't matter.
Everyone was stunned. Their leader couldn't withstand one arrow from Alan.
"So strong!" The mage shouted and ran.
The other bandits fled in panic.
Alan's arrows ended their lives.
Next, he picked up the items dropped by the NPCs.
[You have obtained the equipment Rocky Spiked Club.]
[You have obtained the skill book Super Armor.]
[You have obtained 1200 gold coins.]
[You have obtained 50 free attribute points.]
Alan was surprised to find free attribute points.
This meant the Rocky Valley bandit leader was likely his first kill. A black iron boss usually didn't give many free attribute points on the second kill.
'So, there are no server-wide announcements in the Land of Chaos,' Alan thought.
But it didn't matter.
With the Book of Life and Death stacking health, he felt more confident.
Moving forward, Alan encountered a caravan.
He didn't pay much attention and kept riding his Swift Wind Horse.
Suddenly, someone called out, "Sir, please wait."
Alan turned to see a twin-tailed girl getting off a carriage from the caravan.
[Ophelia Rainfield (Black Iron): 50.]
[Health: 1,058,908/1,058,908.]
[Attack: 8,159.]
[Skills: Chain Fireball, Fire Ring of Resistance, Explosive Fireball, Earth Flame Technique, Lava Roar, Flame Substitute.]
Alan was taken aback. A level 50 black iron mage with more health than the bandit leader? Her gear must be top-notch.
"What's up?" Alan asked.
Ophelia pointed at his Swift Wind Horse. "Is your mount for sale? I'll give you 100,000 gold coins."
Alan frowned. '100,000 gold coins could buy two of these in the Vast Continent.'
He needed the horse, so he said, "Not for sale."
Ophelia persisted. "How much would it take?"
"One million!" Alan said offhandedly.
If she was willing to pay that, he'd sell it.
"Alright, I can't go that high." Ophelia shook her head, disappointed, and signaled the coachman to move on.
Alan was surprised. The Land of Chaos was known for its lawlessness, yet Ophelia was so reasonable.
"Do you know where I can find a third-tier expert?" Alan asked.
The pre-quest scroll for the Blessing of the Gods wasn't easy to get. He figured a third-tier expert might have it.
Ophelia replied, "My grandfather is a third-tier grand mage. Is there something you need from the class change expert?"
"Yes, could you introduce me?" Alan asked.
An old butler whispered to Ophelia, "Miss Rainfield, don't trust him. He might be a criminal."
Ophelia shrugged. "If he were a criminal, he'd act now. He might really need to talk to my grandfather."
The butler wanted to argue but stopped at Ophelia's look.
"Alright, follow me back to our territory," Ophelia said.
"Thanks." Alan followed her on his Swift Wind Horse.
He thought about his goals in the Land of Chaos. 'I has two pre-quest scrolls for the Blessing of the Gods now, the more the better.'
Monster drops had good attributes, but Alan didn't lack those. He used to lack MP, but now he had enough thanks to the MP orb and guild upgrades.
The journey wasn't smooth. They ran into several waves of bandits. The caravan's escort team handled them, but they were in bad shape.
Not far ahead, the caravan stopped again. Alan saw a group of horse bandits charging toward them.
"It's the horse bandits from Sandy Woodland," someone in the escort team shouted, starting to retreat. Because these bandits were notorious.
"Miss Rainfield, hide in the secret compartment under the carriage. No matter what happens, don't come out," the old butler said anxiously. He then looked at Alan. "Sir, you have a Swift Wind Horse. Run for your life and don't lose it here."
