Chapter 65 The Hunchbacked Old Woman Barbara

This was just one scene.

Other guilds had also reported the situation here.

"Ice King can solo slaya level 45 Blood-Eyed Black Turtle. At this stage, the probability of us killing him is very low. Even if we succeed, the cost may outweigh the benefits."

Endless Conquerors Club.

Gerald voiced his judgment.

However, this time, the one sitting in the main seat was not Walter, but a woman with a cold yet alluring demeanor.

"The reward from Demon King Grelorin will definitely not be bad. At this stage, to pull ahead of other guilds, this reward is very important to us," the woman said.

She was none other than Walter's sister, who held significant influence in the Endless Conquerors.

In fact, the actual controller of the Endless Conquerors Club was her, not Walter.

"Miss Parker, this matter is indeed difficult. SnowflakeChaser has the Golden Scepter, and over a hundred elite members took action. Yet, the result was a complete annihilation, with every participant losing a level," Gerald said.

Linda Parker's gaze fell on Walter.

"Walter, I remember you have a good relationship with Ice King. Go and negotiate with him. We can pay a certain price to have him stand still and let us kill him once."

Walter's expression changed.

"Sis, you must be joking. I only had a brief encounter with Ice King."

"Besides, he's at level 20 now. With his Infamy Value, if he dies, he'll drop back to level 1."

"With his abilities, getting back to level 20 is easy. Just go and ask him. One death, five million dollars. I believe he won't refuse," Linda said.

Walter sighed, "I'm not going."

"Walter, don't be so rebellious. Ragnarok is not like other games. Whether Ice King agrees or not, you need to extend the offer," Linda said.

"I said I'm not going, and that's final. Do whatever you want; just don't involve me."

Walter got a bit angry, slammed the table before walking out of the meeting room.

Linda's expression turned slightly sinister. "Gerald, send someone to negotiate with Ice King. I believe as long as the price is right, he won't refuse just to die once. He has no reason to refuse."

"Yes," Gerald replied.

Gerald sighed inwardly. He thought Linda was being too stubborn.

For no other reason—Alan certainly wasn't short of money.

With Alan's current combat power, he could make a lot of money just by selling some skill books and equipment.

However, Linda was clearly in a sour disposition now, and saying anything would just invite scolding.

From some perspectives, he agreed with Walter's approach.

In the current situation, Ice King should be recruited, not provoked.

Unfortunately, Linda was used to buying people off with money, thinking that money could accomplish any feat, but she overlooked an important issue.

Some people, even if they need money, will only take it if they feel like it.

Moreover, Ice King didn't lack money.

At the Blood-Eyed Black Turtle area, Alan was still happily grinding monsters.

Finally, someone arrived.

But it wasn't Leona, whom Alan had been thinking about.

It was a hunchbacked old woman.

Alan looked over.

[Barbara (???): ???]

[Health: ???]

[Attack Power: ???]

[Skills: ???]

[Note: She possesses a significant background. If you can get a quest from her, you might get unexpected benefits. However, be careful not to anger her. She harbors an inclination for savoring fresh blood.]

Alan's eyes narrowed.

This guy couldn't see anything except her name.

All those question marks made Alan realize that he probably wasn't her match.

"Hello, is there anything I can help you with?"

Alan showed a faint smile, using the typical language adventurers use when speaking to NPCs.

Barbara laughed, exposing her uneven, yellowish-black teeth.

"Ice King," she called out Alan's name. "You are the most powerful adventurer I've ever seen. You shouldn't be mediocre; you should become a noble, a count, a marquis, or even a duke."

Such flattery would likely make other players feel honored. But Alan was very clear, when something is unusual, there's definitely a problem.

Such a mysterious and powerful figure coming to find him and flattering him like this was not normal!

"Senior, if you have any business, just say it directly," Alan said straightforwardly.

Upon hearing this, Barbara nodded. "Someone killed the Demon King's son, Grelorin. The king is very pleased and wants to reward Leona."

"Is there a necessity for me to prepare a congratulatory gift?"

Alan deliberately changed the subject.

Barbara shook her head. "No, I want you to go to the palace and claim that you are the one who killed Grelorin."

Alan was shocked.

How did she know that he was the one who killed Grelorin?

Wait.

She doesn't know that he killed Grelorin; she wants it to be him!

With Grelorin's demise,  and Leona would naturally take the credit.

Undoubtedly, she would be highly valued by the king.

But what if the person who helped Leona kill Grelorin was someone with over 900,000 Infamy Value?

That would be a different story.

"You want me to frame Leona?" Alan exclaimed.

Barbara nodded. "That's right, you're very smart."

"I can help you, but what if the king doesn't believe me?" Alan asked, "How could I kill Grelorin in a sealed state?"

"Don't worry, I've already thought of a solution for that."

As she spoke, a bronze mirror appeared in Barbara's hand.

"An ancient, incomplete magical artifact that can open a portal, allowing you to travel directly to other places."

Alan raised an eyebrow; this was a valuable item.

"The second problem is my Infamy Value. If I'm caught, I'll definitely be imprisoned."

Barbara shook her head. "That won't happen. You haven't killed anyone in Central City. At most, you'll be exiled, not arrested."

"Then you might not know, a team came over earlier to arrest me," Alan said.

"Is that so?"

Barbara feigned surprise. She naturally knew that the queen sent the silver commanders, but she couldn't show it.

"Don't worry, the person backing me is Queen Susan. As long as you provide false testimony, you won't be arrested. In the end, because you killed Grelorin, you'll be granted amnesty and allowed to walk freely in Central City."

Alan's eyes lit up.

One big reason he couldn't change his class was his Infamy Value. If he went to Central City, he would be exiled and couldn't get  entry.

It would be greatly beneficial to him to gain the right to walk freely in Central City.

"What benefits do I get? I'm taking a big risk to help you. What can you tender in return?" Alan asked.

Barbara pondered for a moment before slowly saying, "Once the task is completed, I can render Leona your subordinate."

"Not only can you command her in battle, but she can also fulfill any of your desires. Remember, any desire!"
