Chapter 211 A Chance Encounter with SnowflakeChaser!
Alan was feeling pretty annoyed. "Why didn't I get a flying mount? The first two were flying mounts. Are they messing with me? Even a bronze-tier flying mount would've been nice."
But this was the system's way of punishing him.
Alan checked out the special equipment he got.
[Wind-Chasing Button: Special.]
[Requirements: None.]
[Effect: Boosts your mount's speed by 20% when used.]
[Durability: 100.]
Alan gave a wry smile. This gear was just okay.
He refocused and started feeling the power of the Sea's True Intent.
He wasn't by the sea yet, so he could barely use it.
From his past life, Alan knew True Intent had three stages, each with three levels: elementary, intermediate, and advanced.
The first stage was the Gravity Stage.
Alan was at the elementary level of this stage.
In the Gravity Stage, True Intent had limited combat use. It let you manipulate the force tied to your True Intent.
For example, Alan could probably control a bit of seawater.
If it were wind, he could summon a gentle breeze, and so on.
At the intermediate Gravity Stage, you could control more True Intent power, but it still wasn't great for combat.
To use True Intent in battle, you needed the next stage, the Forming Stage.
In the Forming Stage, you could shape True Intent power into attacks.
Typical examples encompassed wind blades or, in the context of the sea, water columns or whirlpools.
At this stage, True Intent had decent combat power.
The third stage was Solidification!
Here, you could solidify the forms created in the second stage.
For instance, wind blades in the second stage were just condensed wind, floating and insubstantial.
In the third stage, they became solid wind blades of True Intent.
One could describe it using the analogy of carbon and diamond.
Carbon and diamond shared the same fundamental elemental structure, yet their hardness differed dramatically.
If second-stage wind blades were carbon, third-stage ones were diamonds.
But forming and solidifying were far-off goals for Alan.
Each step in True Intent was tough, especially as you advanced. It could take years without progress.
But Alan would be quick.
He had the True Intent Manual, which could speed things up.
Riding the Flame Turkey King, after over two hours, Alan finally saw the endless ocean.
This must be the Siren's Sound that Leander mentioned.
Putting away the True Intent Manual, Alan urged the Flame Turkey King to speed up towards the shore.
It couldn't fly, so it stopped at the beach.
Alan raised his hand.
A bit of seawater floated towards him, circled him, then went back.
This was the elementary Gravity Stage level, not useful for combat.
Without a flying mount, Alan had to reach Siren's Slumber Isle by boat.
His title, Son of the Sea, could make him walk on the seabed, but he didn't plan on doing that unless necessary.
He spotted a dock in the distance and headed there on his Flame Turkey King.
A ship was loading cargo, with enslaved people carrying goods onboard.
As soon as Alan arrived, several guards pointed their spears at him, and archers on the ship aimed their arrows.
"Stop," a soft voice commanded, and a woman stepped forward.
"A player?" Alan was surprised.
Players could hide their names, but they still looked different from NPCs.
"Are you a player too?" the female mage asked, recognizing Alan's identity and stopping the others from attacking.
"Yeah," Alan replied.
The female mage eyed the Flame Turkey King and asked, "Are you the Ice King?"
Alan knew she was guessing based on the server-wide announcement.
The Flame Turkey King had wings, and its silver quality was obvious.
The first player, Thomas, had a gold-tier mount. The second and third had silver-tier mounts. The second person to comprehend True Intent was Snowflake Chaser, a woman.
So, the man with a silver-tier mount was likely the Ice King.
"That's right," Alan nodded.
The female mage introduced herself. "Dream Pursuit Guild Leader, SnowflakeChaser. The Ice King's name is well-known. Can I add you as a friend?"
Alan was stunned. What luck to meet Snowflake Chaser here. "Sorry, we're not familiar."
Snowflake Chaser hadn't directly offended Alan, but her actions had caused him trouble in his previous life.
She continued, "I know you're still angry about me leading people to hunt you down before, but the bounty was too high, and I..."
Alan raised his hand to interrupt, "You misunderstand. When I was being hunted, I was surrounded at the resurrection altar. If I held grudges, many players would be dead."
He added, "Besides, the people you brought at that time, I killed them in seconds. Honestly, I just thought you were ridiculous. Angry? You're overthinking it."
Snowflake Chaser's mouth twitched.
Alan's words were quite tactful, and she certainly understood the underlying meaning.
To Alan, the previous incident was like an ant biting him, and then he stomped it to death.
No, they didn't even bite Alan before being stomped to death.
Snowflake Chaser said, "Anyway, it was my fault back then. I heard you're selling Life Orbs. I'm willing to pay 20,000 gold coins. Can you..."
"Sorry," Alan interrupted again. "If you know about the Life Orbs, you should know that even if I ask for 20,000, Blade Warrior will still buy them."
Snowflake Chaser sighed. She hesitated but couldn't help asking, "Ice King, did I offend you somehow? If so, I apologize."
Alan chuckled. "No need. Focus on your tasks. I have my things to do."
With that, Alan brushed past SnowflakeChaser.
She wanted to say more but stayed silent.
Alan approached a passenger ship and asked the boatman, "I want to go to Siren's Slumber Isle. Can you take me there?"
