Chapter 130 Ancient Town: Xanthe Whitaker!

Alan had barely taken a few steps when a burst of flame shot out from the lava nearby.

He instinctively dodged by stepping back.

At the same time, a zombie emerged from the lava.

[Flame Zombie (Bronze Level): Level 50.]

[Health: 10,000,000/10,000,000.]

[Attack: 59,850.]

[Skills: Flame Ray, Sea of Corpses and Fire, Heartburn, Rolling Corpse Gas, Corpse Poison, Nine Corpse Flame Shadow, Super Armor, Rage.]

Alan raised an eyebrow. The first enemy was a bronze-level boss, and a tough one at that.

Alan's arrows rained down.

In just over a second, the Flame Zombie was dead.

"Not bad, it didn't die in one hit," Alan muttered. Lately, he'd been one-shotting most wild monsters.

With a single normal attack dealing over 400,000 true damage, twenty arrows per second, and occasional triggers of Death Reincarnation and Flame Meteor, wild monsters were like paper to him.

This was supposed to be a hell-level difficulty.

For elite players like Bold Snow, entering here would mean instant death, but Alan could kill the bosses with one hit.

The second, third, and fourth Flame Zombies appeared, and Alan continued to kill them effortlessly.

These Flame Zombies didn't even have a chance to fight back before Alan took them down.

With his current damage, a single Flame Zombie only added seventy-five points to his health.

And that's without critical hits or triggering Death Reincarnation and Flame Meteor. Otherwise, it wouldn't even add seventy-five points.

After killing nine Flame Zombies, Alan didn't trigger Death Reincarnation and Flame Meteor, so he smoothly added over six hundred health points.

Alan knew he had to get stronger and obtain the Light and Dark Tome quickly.

The trigger rates for Death Reincarnation and Flame Meteor were low, while the trigger rate for Lightning Leap was very high.

One trigger could wipe out a group of wild monsters.

Additionally, Alan had the passive skill Double True Damage, which doubled his already serious damage.

These skills weren't bad. In a real life-and-death battle, they were extremely powerful.

However, from the perspective of stacking health points, these skills were a disadvantage, as they slowed down his health stacking speed.

The situation ahead was similar to the Snow Corpse's Footsteps, with two Flame Zombies appearing at the start.

But even with two Flame Zombies, it was still easy for Alan.

They couldn't even launch an attack before Alan killed them.

With nine groups of two Flame Zombies, Alan's health increased by about ten thousand.

This health increase was minimal.

Then Alan saw an ancient town ahead.

The town was very quiet, exuding an ancient aura.

This ancient town was different from modern imitations. It was genuinely ancient.

After stepping into the town, Alan noticed that the continuous health drain above his head disappeared.

He looked around and saw no one.

Walking through the streets of the ancient town, he noticed the surroundings were eerily quiet as if no one was there.

Alan frowned. The structure of this instance was very similar to the Snow Corpse's Footsteps.

Logically, there should be NPCs here too.

After a bit of exploring, Alan got the layout of the town but didn't see anyone.

"Is there really no one here?" he wondered.

Just as he was about to move forward, he heard singing.

Following the sound, he saw a woman in a white dress playing a zither and singing in a pavilion.

Her face was lightly made up, and she was stunningly beautiful.

Alan raised an eyebrow, about to say something.

The woman didn't miss a beat, but the zither music turned into a sharp blade flying toward him.

Alan's arrow shot through the air, colliding with the blade formed by the music.

The two forces exploded in mid-air, neither side affected.

The woman didn't flinch. Her zither music kept transforming into swords and knives, attacking Alan.

Alan's arrows kept flying, blocking all her attacks.

The music grew more urgent.

The number of swords and knives increased, and Alan's arrows flew faster and faster to keep up.

Suddenly, the music stopped.

The woman stood up and bowed. She remarked, "I am Xanthe Whitaker. Greetings, sir. Your archery skills are truly impressive."

Alan smiled. He replied, "Miss, are you the only one in this ancient town?"

Xanthe shook her head. She said, "Of course not. It's just that with your skills, you can only see me."

"What do you mean? What's the benefit of seeing you?" Alan asked.

Xanthe raised an eyebrow and waved her hands, causing her outer garment to fall, revealing her fair skin.

"Sir, your archery is excellent. Would you be willing to come to my room and give me some pointers?" Xanthe said.

Alan was taken aback and thought...

'Xanthe is beautiful, like some popular actresses.'

'She's trying to lure me into a trap.'

'But doing such things in a game, is it possible?'

'It should be. Just consider it finding a temporary girlfriend.'

'The premise is Xanthe must not have any issues.'

'But obviously, that's impossible.'

In such a setting, with a woman openly pursuing you, it was impossible to deny that there was an issue.

"My archery skills are a family secret, not easily taught. If you truly want to learn, you must demonstrate your open-mindedness. Otherwise, it's hard to teach you," Alan said.

Xanthe frowned. She questioned, "Here?"

"Is that not possible?" Alan grinned.

Xanthe frowned, realizing Alan wasn't falling for it.

"Sir, do you look down on me that much? Then I can only kill you," Xanthe said.

Alan took a step forward and shouted, "Bold monster, how dare you disguise yourself in front of me! Reveal your true form at once!"

Xanthe's expression changed. "You are quite remarkable, discerning that I am not human. Initially, I intended to draw some of your energy and then release you, but now it appears I cannot allow you to depart."

As she finished speaking, Xanthe gently stroked the zither, and the music carried a chilling aura. In Alan's eyes, it caused a dramatic change in his surroundings.

He found himself in a high position, with officials bowing below.

Foreign envoys visited, bringing nine beauties and various rare treasures.

Alan felt as if these were truly being given to him.

The nine beauties were all stunning, with voluptuous figures skilled in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting.
