Chapter 295 Their Thoughts!

The other two, seeing this, could only agree.

Leif was a bit worried. He quickly walked to Alan's side and whispered, "Master, you sure about taking on all three families at once? Somthing might go worng."

"Are you second-guessing me?" Alan's icy stare locked on him.

Leif trusted Alan completely—this was just a heads-up. So Alan added, "I get it. You're thinking about the Cult of the Divine Sheep and the Three Saints Society. The Hall of Glory needs to make a play now that we're in the mix."

Leif nodded, though he couldn't shake the feeling Alan was being a bit too rigid. "Got it, Master. I'll call Darius. We'll go there together."

Alan shook his head, "Nah, you're staying put."

"Master, the three families aren't pushovers. Relying on those three sects might not cut it, and who knows if they'll even hold up," Leif said, his voice tight with concern.

"That's exactly why you're not coming," Alan said with a smirk.

Leif frowned, confused. "Master?"

"Ever heard of a sting operation? I'm not looking to wipe out the three families—this is a sting."

"A sting?" Leif paused, catching on but still uneasy. "Isn't that risky?"

"What's there to worry about? I'm an adventurer—I can respawn. Besides, you shouldn't be asking me that. You should be asking the ones getting stung."

With that, Alan turned and headed straight for the three families.

The three major families of the Mountain and Sea Empire were all in Dragon Capital, occupying one-third of the inner city. Many high-ranking officials had to make way for them.

This was the status of the families descended from gods.

The leader of the Mist Rain Tower arrived first with his people, followed by the Heavenly Sword Sect and Sunset Peak.

Alan had already informed the three major families in advance that he would visit them personally.

As soon as he reached the inner city, it was no longer as bustling as usual. All the shops were closed, and three people stood in front of the street.

These three radiated authority, clearly seasoned power players.

"Ice King, I heard you took out Loff White this morning. I won't question your strength, but even the previous lord never gave us direct orders. What's your play here?" The head of the Fisher family spoke up first. His tone wasn't confrontational—just matter-of-fact.

"Within the Mountain and Sea Empire, everyone falls under the Hall of Glory's rule. If you're not willing to abide by that, then you've got no place here," Alan replied coolly.

The head of the Ellis family sneered, "The last lord of the Hall of Glory had a big ego, but you? You're on another level."

Alan raised his hand slightly, "So, we're done talking?"

The head of the Harrison family stepped forward, a dark red longsword in his grip, "A new boss trying to flex, huh? But Ice King, you're barking up the wrong tree."

"I think I'm right where I need to be," Alan said with a faint smile, the Divine Whip of Striking materializing in his hand.

In an instant, the atmosphere became tense, and a battle was about to break out.

"Three leaders, it's time for you to show your loyalty," Alan said.

The leader of the Mist Rain Tower stepped forward, taking a combat stance.

Seeing this, the leader of the Heavenly Sword Sect also summoned a long sword, and thousands of flying swords floated behind him.

On both sides of the street, people from the three major families kept coming out, all armed and clearly prepared.

The leader of Sunset Peak saw this and showed a cunning smile, "Two leaders, are you really ready to throw down with the three major families over this kid? They're way out of our league. If we go head-to-head, we'll take a serious hit."

Then her tone shifted, "Why don't we team up, take out this lord, snag his Hall of Glory Palace Lord Token, and run the show ourselves?"

Alan's lips curled into a barely noticeable smile.

The real reason he'd called them early in the morning was because of what had gone down in Sunset Town the night before—something they were still clueless about.

As seasoned pros with nine job changes under their belts, they didn't exactly lose sleep over some backwater town full of low-level players.

By morning, the news hadn't reached these high rollers yet.

As long as they didn't know he was the Ice King, there'd be plenty of shaky hands in the room, itching to make a move.

Whether they were scheming or outright planning to stab him in the back, this was the moment they'd slip up.

From their perspective, the idea of Alan actually being a god was laughable.

At best, they'd buy into the theory that a god's remnant soul had taken over his body.

The three major families, being descendants of gods, surely had aces up their sleeves. Even if they couldn't outright beat a god's remnant soul, they could at least hold their own long enough to survive.

After all, if the remnant soul's power crossed a certain threshold, the rules of Ragnarok would smack it down.

In other words, if they could just weather the first storm, they'd be in the clear.

And once the rules of Ragnarok dealt with the remnant soul, the rest would be child's play.

That's how they saw it, anyway.

The leader of the Mist Rain Tower didn't budge an inch at Sunset Peak's suggestion.

The leader of Heavenly Sword Sect hesitated, his eyes darting, but he kept his focus on Mist Rain Tower's stance.

"I'm a man of my word. Can't flip-flop right after saying something—that's just shameful," the leader of Mist Rain Tower said firmly.

With that, the leader of Heavenly Sword Sect's resolve solidified too.

"You're both out of your minds. You're really gonna bleed your factions dry over this?" The leader of Sunset Peak was fuming, her face red with frustration.

Alan wasn't in a hurry. Finally, the news came.

"Ice King, Golden Gate's crew is rallying on East Street. Doesn't look like they're making a move toward the border town."

"And there's some shady crew hanging around Golden Gate too."

Reading Blade Warrior's message, Alan cracked a smug grin.

Before setting off, he had given Blade Warrior the task of monitoring Golden Gate's movements.

He left Golden Gate's crew out of the loop because he planned to wipe them all out once and for all!

Especially after the Golden Gate leader had the nerve to act all cocky and disrespectful in the hall earlier. Alan knew the guy was probably backed by someone else.

The Golden Gate leader was a Starlight Tier, nine-time job changer, and a faction boss. Sure, he could afford to be a hotshot, but after Alan scared off the Crimson Blossom Demigod and Ayla, how the hell did he dare mouth off to Alan?

And there's a massive power gap between nine-time job changers at the Starlight Tier.

Take the four-time job changers Alan had dealt with before. Level 200 and level 500 are both four-time job changers, but the strength difference? Night and day.

If that's the case for four-timers, the gap for nine-timers is even wider.

So, who the hell gave the Golden Gate leader the balls to act tough?
