Chapter 207 Mr. Rainfield!

Alan noticed a flag with a cool, icy blue surface.

It looked a lot like the one Leona had used before.

He picked it up and checked out its attributes.

[Sea God Teleportation Flag: Special Item.]

[Effect: Teleports you to a nearby water area, up to 100 kilometers away.]

[Note: One-time use. Disappears after use.]

The bandit he just took down probably had it, but Alan's attack was too strong and quick for the bandit to use it.

The flag's presence hinted that the old site of the Sea God might be nearby.

From what Alan remembered from his past life, not just the gods of the Jinse Empire, but also foreign gods and Cthulhu deities were in slumber.

In ten years, Alan never figured out why so many gods were asleep or sealed.

He guessed they compressed their powers to avoid detection by stronger beings.

Ordinary people were like dust, hard to notice. Gods, however, were like glowing balls, very noticeable to higher beings.

To avoid detection, several godly factions decided to slumber, using their power to create Ragnarok. This allowed Blue Star's creatures to grow stronger quietly, hoping for a chance when the great catastrophe arrived.

In five years, few players reached god-level, but there was still hope.

Of course, these were just Alan's deductions from his past life. He didn't know the exact reasons.

Half a day later, following Ophelia's caravan, Alan finally arrived at the Rainfield family's territory.

In this chaotic land, there were no countries, just territories.

Large territories could become cities, while small ones might only have a few dozen people.

Rainfield's territory was a typical family territory.

The nobles here were Rainfield Family members, and the rest were mostly commoners and affiliates.

Alan smiled faintly.

He knew he was finally going to meet Ophelia's grandfather, the three-time job change Archmage.

Even without the prerequisite quest scroll for the gods' blessing, he would surely know some clues.

Ophelia said, "Mr. Ice, I'm going to see my grandfather and explain your purpose to him."

Alan replied, "Okay."

The old butler arranged for Alan to stay at Anna's mansion, in the main house.

After a while, the old butler called from outside the door, "Mr. Rainfield invites you over."

Alan nodded, followed the butler, and arrived at a quaint bamboo garden.

At the entrance, the butler respectfully said, "Mr. Rainfield is inside."

Alan stepped in and saw an old man cooking in the garden.

The old man placed a plate of roasted meat on the table, which already had several good-looking dishes.

Mr. Rainfield said, "Mr. Ice, come on in and have a seat. I was worried you wouldn't like our food, so I whipped up some Jinse Empire specialties."

Alan sat down without hesitation. "Just the two of us? Or are there others? It's surprising to see so many dishes prepared."

Mr. Rainfield grinned. "Just us, but a special guest deserves a feast."

They sat across from each other, and Mr. Rainfield poured Alan a glass of wine, his enthusiasm making Alan a bit uneasy.

Mr. Rainfield said, "Ophelia mentioned you have something to discuss. Go ahead."

Alan smiled and got straight to the point. "I heard you're a three-time job change Archmage."

"Just a title, nothing special," Mr. Rainfield waved it off.

Alan grinned. "Doesn't matter. Do you have the prerequisite quest scroll for the gods' blessing?"

Mr. Rainfield replied, "Yes."

Alan was surprised at how easy that was. "I want it."

Mr. Rainfield laughed and served Alan some soup. "You're a bit naive. That scroll is highly coveted."

Alan took the soup bowl, smiling. "I wouldn't ask for it for free. What are your conditions?"

Mr. Rainfield thought for a moment. "I've been trying for decades but can't complete the fourth job change."

Alan's eyes narrowed. "So, that's your condition?"

"Exactly," Mr. Rainfield nodded. "Help me complete the fourth job change, and the scroll is yours."

Alan pondered. Since there was room for negotiation, it wasn't too big of a problem.

Alan asked, "What attribute Archmage are you?"

To break through the bottleneck, the region needed an upgrade.

For example, Ashley and Leona once hoped to upgrade Stellaria. Because upgrading would enhance their growth potential.

Generally, it required higher-level job change items and the job change altar.

Otherwise, like Leona, you could perform an overlapping job change.

Originally an ice attribute Archmage, combined with fire, achieving the fourth job change as an ice-fire Archmage.

Of course, this wasn't simple. That's why Stellaria had only one person, Leona, completing the fourth job change.

Mr. Rainfield laughed. "Mr. Ice, it's impossible. My attribute is extremely rare."

Alan's heart sank.

If this was truly the case, helping Mr. Rainfield complete the fourth job change would be very difficult.

"Mr. Rainfield, at least tell me. Even if I have to give up, I need to know why."

Mr. Rainfield smiled. "Alright, it's not a secret."

He raised his hand, and a grayish-white light flowed in his palm.

A skeletal undead appeared beside the dining table.

"I am a three-time job change Necromancer. Do you give up now?" Mr. Rainfield laughed.

Alan looked at the skeletal undead, a strange smile on his face. 'Necromancer? The god you believe in is still on my Soul Gathering List!'
