Chapter 232 Incoming Shell!

Alan waved his hand, all chill, "Alright, you guys can get up now."

The leader of the Sea God Temple was the first to stand, with the others following a bit slower.

"My Lord, what brings you to our Sea God Temple this time?" the leader asked, all respectful.

Alan's face got serious. "All the gods are starting to wake up, and the Sea God needs a divine rep ASAP."

Hearing this, the leader got all excited. He looked at Alan and asked, "My Lord, do you think I have a shot?"

Alan raised an eyebrow. "As long as I'm around, that rep won't be you."

The leader gave a wry smile. "So, you're gonna be the Sea God's rep yourself?"

"Yep," Alan nodded. "But I need a solid foundation and your help. You can't be the rep, but as an elder, you can be a Grand Envoy."

The leader's eyes lit up. "Thank you."

Alan waved it off. "Like I said, I need your help to build that foundation."

"What do you need from me?"

"I need Equipment evolution scrolls, divine talent awakening stones, talent evolution flowers, and stuff," Alan replied. He hesitated for a sec but didn't mention the pre-quest scroll for the gods' blessings. That'd be too much info.

Plus, Alan figured the pre-quest scroll the leader had would probably lead to the Sea God's blessing. While divine blessings were cool, Alan didn't really need the Sea God's blessing right now.

The leader said, "I have equipment evolution scrolls and talent evolution flowers, but I don't have any divine talent awakening stones.""

Alan narrowed his eyes a bit. He could tell the leader had them but wasn't willing to part with them. Maybe there were rules about needing specific tasks to get those items. Handing them over directly might break those rules. Or maybe it was just how the game Ragnarok worked.

Alan managed to get an equipment evolution scroll and a talent evolution flower from the leader. Adding the ones the blue-haired woman gave him, he now had two equipment evolution scrolls and six talent evolution flowers. Four more, he could evolve his super-divine talent once. He just had no clue what it would turn into.

"Use the equipment evolution scroll."

[You used the equipment evolution scroll on the Purification Amulet. The Purification Amulet is evolving.]

[Congrats, your Purification Amulet has successfully evolved.]

Alan's eyes lit up; it worked smoothly this time. But when he saw the boosted stats, he felt like cursing. After breaking ninety, the evolution success rate only went up by one percent, and now it just increased by 0.5 percent. Alan knew higher levels meant tougher upgrades, but this was nuts.

"Again."

Alan used the second equipment evolution scroll.

[You used the equipment evolution scroll on the Purification Amulet. The Purification Amulet is evolving.]

[Sorry, your Purification Amulet evolution failed.]

Alan was speechless.

Man, it was definitely getting tougher!

At this rate, who knew when he'd get the Purification Amulet to a hundred percent?

This time's haul was kinda disappointing for Alan.

But he didn't have a good reason to ask for more right now.

"Let's call it a day. As a leader, you should keep your crew in line. Strength's important, but character matters too."

The Sea God Temple's leader nodded like crazy. "Absolutely."

Alan thought for a sec and then asked, "Are there any other adventurers in this chaotic land?"

He'd been making waves in Stellaria but still hadn't found his sister.

That probably meant she wasn't in Stellaria.

If she was in the second job change area, it was either the chaotic land or the underworld left.

The underworld was a special case; regular players would lose health just by being there.

So, Alan figured his sister was likely in the chaotic land.

"I don't deal with outside stuff much. Lumi, you get out more. Got any useful clues?"

Lumi stepped up right away, all respectful. "I recently ran into an adventurer with a unique job, a mechanic."

Alan was a bit surprised.

Mechanics were weak early on, strong in the mid-game, and just okay late-game.

They struggled early because they needed blueprints to make weapons or mechanical puppets, aka robots.

Like those landmines and jumping mines Alan had run into before, which were mechanic-made.

But landmines and jumping mines were mostly defensive and hard to use offensively.

Early on, they could also make some basic combat puppets, but those were pretty average and easy to destroy.

Making mechanical puppets was pricey, and without serious cash, it was tough to be a powerful mechanic.

In that sense, mechanics had it rougher than mages.

Mages were weak early on too, but mainly because their skills were low-level.

They just needed to cast more spells to level up, and they'd naturally get stronger.

"Do you know the mechanic's name?" Alan asked.

Lumi shook her head. "Her name's hidden. I only know she's a level fifty female character and has done her second job change."

"Alright."

Alan felt a bit stuck. He still didn't know where his sister was, as he couldn't find her anywhere.

Alan said, "If there's nothing else, I'm outta here."

Alan didn't plan to stick around; he had other stuff to do.

"Farewell, Lord Son of the Sea."

The Sea God Temple's leader and the others bowed respectfully.

Just then, a loud noise came from the plaza outside the main hall.

The whole Sea God Temple shook a bit.

"What the heck was that?"

The Sea God Temple's leader stepped forward.

Alan, not far behind, turned into a blur and rushed out.

They saw a big pit, over ten meters wide, in the central plaza, still smoking.

In the sky, a cannonball the size of a human head was flying towards them.

"Move it!"

The Sea God Temple's leader shouted and dodged quickly.

Alan moved the second he saw the cannonball.

The most unfortunate was the blue-haired woman who had just emerged; the cannonball struck directly at her feet.
