Chapter 220 Platinum-Level Fourth Job Change Fighter!

Cressida stopped and asked, "How many people did he bring?"

"Just him and Leander," the maid said, looking confused.

The families were at each other's throats, yet only two people showed up.

Cressida was just as baffled and headed to the reception room.

Inside, the old Sterling Family butler nervously greeted Atticus and Leander.

With the head of the Sterling Family missing, Cressida had taken charge, making it a shaky time for them.

If the Ashbourne Family was here to stir up trouble, the Sterlings were in no shape to handle it.

Cressida walked in, forcing a smile.

"Atticus, what brings you here so late?" she asked, trying to keep her cool.

Atticus pulled out a silver-glowing staff. "Miss Sterling, we were wrong to target your family. Please accept this as an apology."

The old butler was stunned.

He had imagined all sorts of scenarios.

Maybe they were here to talk about the blue crystal mine, or perhaps they would demand a huge sum to leave the Sterlings alone. It could also be that a friend of the head of the family lent a hand, prompting The Ashbourne Family to prepare for a proper discussion.

He never expected an apology and a silver weapon.

Cressida took a deep breath, but before she could say anything, Atticus continued, "We were blinded by profit. Please forgive us."

Atticus spoke politely, without any arrogance.

Cressida hesitated but asked, "Did you come because of Mr. Ice?"

Atticus nodded. "Yes."

Cressida was pleasantly surprised. She had worried Alan wouldn't follow through, but he had acted quickly. And he even had Atticus come to apologize. Impressive.

Atticus said, "If there's nothing else, we'll take our leave."

After they left, Cressida told the old butler, "Start mining the blue crystal immediately."

"Yes," the butler nodded, then asked curiously, "Miss, that Mr. Ice..."

Cressida explained, "A big shot I met by chance. I gave him an equipment evolution scroll and promised ninety percent of the blue crystal mine. Only then did he agree to help."

The butler was still surprised. "Such a big shot wouldn't act for just that."

He looked Cressida up and down and whispered, "Do you think there's a possibility..."

Cressida understood his implication. "Impossible, Mr. Ice doesn't lack women."

At the Resurrection Altar in Siren City, Peregrine cowered inside, barely surviving thanks to the high healing rate.

"What kind of attack is this? How can it last so long?" Peregrine muttered angrily.

Just then, a young man in a black robe appeared outside the altar.

"It's you!" Peregrine saw Alan and was furious. "What did you do to me?!"

Alan smirked. "It doesn't matter. Do you enjoy inflating prices that much? Is it fun now to be confined to the resurrection altar?"

Peregrine gritted his teeth. "Kid, my big brother's a platinum-level, four-time job change expert. Messing with me won't end well for you."

Alan stayed cool. "Let him come. I'd like to meet him."

Actually, Alan had another thought.

'A platinum-level, four-time job change expert should have the prerequisite quest scroll for the Blessing of the Gods.'

If Peregrine's brother used the scroll to save him, Alan might consider it.

"What do you want?" Peregrine asked, realizing he might have messed with a master.

Alan's strange attack was something even Peregrine's big brother didn't have.

Given Alan's status, Peregrine guessed he was also a four-time job change expert, at least platinum level.

A five-time job change seemed impossible.

Regions had level caps based on monsters.

Killing lower-level monsters didn't yield experience, except for bosses.

In Stellaria, the strongest monsters were level fifty. The Chaos Lands had up to level one hundred.

Though rare exceptions existed, like the weasel in the novice village, they were few.

Reaching level one hundred, the second job change limit, was the peak for regions like Stellaria and the Chaos Lands.

Breaking this limit required a different approach, like Percival's four-time job change attempt.

It was impractical to seek a mentor for a conventional job change; you could only switch professions through a sacrificial offering of special items.

Even then, leveling was an issue.

After reaching level one hundred and completing the third job change, how could one level up to two hundred?

There were no level two hundred monsters, only level one hundred bosses for experience.

Accumulating to level two hundred was tough.

Surpassing that, advancing from level two hundred to five hundred for the fifth job change appeared nearly insurmountable.

Alan looked at Peregrine coldly. "Let your big brother come."

Before Peregrine could respond, a deep voice came from behind.

"I'm here." Dashiell Ashford, tall and lean with solid muscles, appeared.

He wasn't bulky, but Alan felt intense pressure.

Alan noticed the golden gloves on his hands—a fighter!

Fighters countered Alan the most.

Mages, archers, priests, summoners, and other classes shouldn't let fighters get close, or they'd be in trouble.

"Peregrine's price-raising annoyed me. How should we handle this?" Alan asked like a mob boss demanding a payoff.

"An archer, who gave you the courage to talk to me like this?" Dashiell's cold gaze fell on Alan, and a murderous aura erupted.

Onlookers felt the killing intent, turned pale, and quickly fled.
