Chapter 283 Finding Billy!

End the chat.

Alan walked towards the palace.

He was going to talk to the emperor of the Mountain and Sea Empire about something.

In fact, after the Oceanus Kingdom was destroyed, Alan wanted to do this, but he never had the qualifications to go.

He arrived at the palace gate, where more than a dozen guards stood in two rows.

Just as Alan arrived, a small woman in a black hood stepped out from the gates.

She froze in front of Alan, her veil-covered eyes locking onto him.

Alan noticed her too. "Player?"

Even under the hood, it was clear she wasn't an NPC.

The Mountain and Sea Empire had only been revived for such a short time, and yet a player had already managed to enter the palace.

This player had extraordinary luck.

The petite woman seemed to realize that staring at someone like this was inappropriate, so she quickly looked away and left.

Alan watched her go, a weird vibe nagging at him.

"Just a level one newbie," the God of the Undead's voice echoed in his head.

Alan blinked. "Wait, she's an adventurer too? But level one?"

How the hell did a level one get clearance to waltz into the Mountain and Sea Empire's palace?

"She's definitely level one," the Sea God chimed in. "Probably knows someone big in the palace—that's her golden ticket."

"What's your business here?" The Sea God's voice barely faded when a guard stormed over, glaring. "The palace is off-limits. No unauthorized access."

Alan casually pulled out the Palace Lord Token.

The moment the guard spotted the token in Alan's hand, he froze, his spear clattering to the ground.

He dropped to his knees in a flash. "My apologies, Palace Lord!"

The other guards followed suit, bowing low. "Greetings, Palace Lord!"

Icefire Los Island!

Ayla stormed back in and flipped the table in a rage. "What the hell is going on? What's so special about the Hall of Glory that they can turn a god into a palace lord?"

The others on Icefire Los Island were shaking, too scared to say a word.

Just then, a voice cut through the tension. "You really think that kid's a god?"

The Crimson Blossom Demigod strolled in, calm and collected.

"What are you doing here?" Ayla snapped, her tone icy. "You were ready to throw me under the bus back there!"

She glared at the Crimson Blossom Demigod, still bitter.

"I came to discuss with you how to deal with the Hall of Glory."

Upon hearing this, Ayla said angrily, "Deal with the Hall of Glory? Are you crazy, or am I? That place is run by a freaking god! We already lost eight god-level awakening stones just to get out alive this time!"

The Crimson Blossom Demigod chuckled, "Don't be so impatient. Think about it carefully. Is it really possible that the kid is a god?"

Ayla frowned, "Look, I might not be as strong as you, but that divine energy was legit. You think I just lucked into a god-level talent awakening stone or something?"

The Crimson Blossom Demigod walked to Ayla's side, "Yeah, the divine energy's real, but who says only gods can have it? Could be a divine artifact… or maybe a god's leftover soul tagging along."

Ayla quickly reacted. "Wait, you're saying that kid's got a god's soul riding shotgun?"

The Crimson Blossom Demigod shook his head, "My bet's on a divine artifact. Ever since the Hall of Glory's master offed the Ice Goddess, her life-bound artifact's been MIA."

Ayla's breath hitched. "No wonder that kid only asked for a few god-level awakening stones. If it were a real god, they'd probably strip us clean and leave us with nothing. I thought I'd run into one of the nicer ones, but now… yeah, something's off!"

At this point, Ayla changed the subject.

"Even if that's true, what can we do? It's all just your theory. What if the new Hall of Glory master is a god? Or even if he's just got one riding shotgun, we're still screwed if we mess with him!"

The Crimson Blossom Demigod smirked. "You really wanna spend the rest of your life stuck on this rock? Taking over the Hall of Glory and running the Mountain and Sea Empire sounds way better. Plus, if you snag the Ice Goddess's artifact, your ice power's gonna level up big time. You know I'm right."

Mountain and Sea Empire, palace.

After entering the palace, Alan had the Sea God use divine sense to guide him to meet the emperor of the Mountain and Sea Empire.

Study room.

Alan arrived here without any obstacles, thanks to the Hall of Glory's Palace Lord Token.

But before stepping into the study, Alan spotted someone he'd been itching to find.

"Billy!" Alan's jaw clenched in anger. If he hadn't come to see the emperor this time, who knows how long it would've taken to track Billy down.

Billy walked right up to him. "So, you got the Hall of Glory master's powers?"

Alan did not answer, "What about the super god-level hidden profession you promised me?"

"Think I'd bail on you? Chill, I've got it right here." Billy flicked his wrist, and a scroll appeared in his hand. "God's Retribution Archer job change scroll—all yours. Whether you can pull it off, though? That's on you."

Alan took the scroll and immediately checked it.

God's Retribution Archer job change scroll: Super god-level.

Usage requirement: Archer without a hidden profession.

Effect: Hold this scroll and enter the super god-level job change altar to change to the super god-level hidden profession God's Retribution Archer.

Durability: Indestructible.

Alan frowned, "Where is the super god-level job change altar?"

"Divine Realm."

"Divine Realm?"

Alan almost cursed. This was clearly making things difficult for him.

He was still far from becoming a god.

"Wait, you're not a god, how did you change jobs?" Alan asked.

"Me? I'm a chosen one, selected by the gods, and directly obtained this hidden profession. Everyone else has to jump through hoops now." Billy shrugged. "But honestly, you're already a beast. Job change or not, you're good."

"Who says no to getting stronger?"

"Fair point. Besides the Divine Realm, there are some high-level secret spots that might have those top-level job change altars. If you can find 'em, though—that's on you." Billy circled back. "You still haven't answered me. Did you inherit the Hall of Glory boss's skills or what?"
