Chapter 245 The Gathering of Several Big Shots
This kid was Finley Sinclair, the head honcho of the Sinclair Family.
Finley squinted. "Could it be the undead army? He used them against the Rainfield Family before. Looks like he might've snagged something big from the God of the Undead."
Cassius asked, a bit nervous, "What do we do now?"
"What are you scared of? Today's show is all set for him. Keep an eye on things; I'm stepping out for a bit."
Cassius said, "Got it."
Meanwhile, Alan was going nuts, taking down sea beasts left and right in the ocean. Not only was he boosting his health points, but his undead army was growing like crazy.
Having the undead army help out made things way more efficient.
After three days, Alan's undead sea beast army had blown up to over a hundred thousand, and it was still growing super fast.
"It's a bummer the Godslayer Mark isn't considered gear or a skill. If it was, combined with my super-god-level talent, I'd be unstoppable,"Alan muttered. The undead army couldn't boost Alan's health points, which sucked.
If they could, the health points Alan would rack up would be insane.
But now wasn't the time to dwell on that. A hundred thousand undead sea beasts were spreading out at a scary speed, and sea beasts in the ocean were getting wiped out just as fast.
Plus, sea beasts were different from land monsters; even the slightly bigger ones started at elite level, with many being black iron or bronze level.
The XP from killing a single sea beast boss wasn't huge. But Alan's kill rate was off the charts.
With every breath, a boss sea beast would bite the dust under the attack of Alan's undead sea beasts, making his undead army even bigger.
The Sinclair Family was on edge. If Alan were here, he'd be shocked. Ambrose, Dashiell, Finley, and Cassius were all present. These were the big guns in Chaos Territory.
"Level 280, in just three days," Cassius said, his voice shaky and serious, clearly not expecting things to get this wild. "The Ice King’s speed in taking down sea beast bosses is nuts. At this rate, he could really get me to level 500 in half a month."
Ambrose thought for a moment. "When we made the plan, this was the deal. We can't let all our hard work go to waste; someone has to stop the Ice King."
Dashiell pointed at himself. "You don't mean me, right? Even though fighters have a big edge over archers, I don't think the Ice King can be judged by normal archer standards."
Finley waved his hand. "I haven't even said anything yet, and you're already making excuses. There are still two more people who haven't shown up, so chill."
As Finley finished talking, two figures walked in.
The guy on the left was Kenneth, who Alan had seen before. The person on the right, if Alan were here, he would totally blow his mind.
It was Eulalia Ravenscroft, the so-called king of the Oceanus Kingdom.
Kenneth represented Stellaria, and Eulalia represented the Oceanus Kingdom. They should be sworn enemies. But now, they were walking in together.
Kenneth chimed in, "The Ice King's got tricks up his sleeve. The only thing that makes sense now is that he can enslave souls."
Eulalia looked serious. "From what I know about the Ice King, he's not someone we can mess with. If we had any other choice, I wouldn't want to be his enemy."
"Eulalia, save the speeches," Kenneth said coldly. "Right now, we need to figure out how to break this deadlock."
"You've got some nerve. If it weren't for those idiots from Stellaria, we wouldn't be in this mess," Eulalia shot back.
Kenneth gave her a frosty look. "If they weren't idiots, would the Oceanus Kingdom even exist?"
"Alright, you two, didn't we agree to stop bickering until we deal with the Ice King?" Finley said, exasperated.
"It's simple. Just follow the example of our Stellaria Grand Marshal and Chancellor. Cassius, you should off yourself," Kenneth said flatly. "Remember, we agreed that if anyone's pre-quest scroll for the Blessing of the Gods had issues, we wouldn't let the Ice King win, even if it meant death."
Cassius trembled slightly, looking to Finley for help.
But before Finley could say anything, Ambrose and Dashiell chimed in, "We agree."
"You guys!" Cassius was furious. "I'm level 280 now. If it comes to a fight, I'm not scared of you."
"Enough," Finley said, his face grim. "At this point, arguing is pointless. How about this: if Cassius reaches level 490, he will commit suicide."
Kenneth shook his head. "Better safe than sorry. Let's make it level 450."
"Agreed."
"Agreed."
Eulalia and Ambrose quickly agreed.
Finley's face darkened. Everyone knew leveling up got harder the higher you went. This forty-level gap could mean Cassius wouldn't have to die, then their family had an extra high-level expert over level 400.
"Since we've got a decision, there's nothing more to discuss." Dashiell waved his hand, ready to leave.
"Dashiell, hold up. The reason I called you here isn't just for this; there's something more important to discuss," Finley said seriously.
Dashiell looked intrigued. "More important than this? Now you've got my attention."
Meanwhile, Alan's undead sea beast army kept growing. These undead sea beasts followed his orders, killing without hesitation wherever they went.
At first, Alan led the charge, but as the number of enslaved undead sea beasts grew, he didn't need to get his hands dirty anymore.
The number of undead sea beasts kept climbing. Even though Cassius needed more XP to level up, Alan's sea beast numbers were skyrocketing too.
At least, until Alan's sea beast numbers hit their limit, Cassius's leveling speed wouldn't slow down.
After a week, Cassius found himself at level 449, his face grim.
Oberon, with a sinister grin, stood not far away. Seeing Cassius's level increase, Oberon bared his fangs and sneered, "Cassius, you should die!"
