Chapter 64 Annihilating the Dream Pursuit Guild
The assassin was startled.
'Does he see me? No, that’s impossible!'
They were 500 feet apart, and he was cloaked in invisibility. There was no way he could be detected.
Alan found it amusing to see the other guy standing still, pretending to be dead.
If it weren't for the slight movements of his body, Alan would have thought the guy had logged off in the wild.
An arrow whizzed through the air.
Alan shot an arrow at the assassin player's feet. "Stop pretending to be dead."
The assassin, a member ofthe Dream Pursuit Guild, was visibly shaken.
"How did you see me?"
Alan didn't explain but said, "I don't know which guild you're from, but tell your guild leader not to mess with me. Otherwise, I don't mind racking up more Infamy Value."
This assassin player, like him, had concealed his nickname, so it was impossible to determine which guild he was from.
"Ice King, you sure talk big."
At this moment, a cold voice came, and then SnowflakeChaser appeared with over a hundred elite members.
Alan raised an eyebrow, feeling somewhat offended.
Indeed, he felt slighted.
It wasn't that a guild was looking for trouble with him, nor that it was SnowflakeChaser causing the trouble.
It was that they only brought a little over a hundred people.
'What does that mean? Do they look down on me?'
The elite members behind SnowflakeChaser were not bad; mostly around level fourteen or fifteen, they were fully equipped.
Some even had complete sets of gear.
"You guys are here for the bounty on the demon Greyfawn, right?" Alan said. "But I'd advise against any rash actions, though, unless you just want to end up lowering the levels of your Dream Pursuit Guild."
Hearing this, a mage beside SnowflakeChaser was very displeased.
"You're about to die, and you're still so arrogant."
With that,he waved his staff, and a fireball hit Alan.
[-98.]
Alan was now equipped with Hydra gear and a few pieces dropped by the Poisonous Spider King, so his resistance was not what it was at level one.
[You've been maliciously attacked; you may retaliate freely.]
Alan raised his hand and release an arrow.
A shield warrior behind the mage immediately stepped up and blocked Alan's arrow with his shield.
[-15,429.]
A huge damage number appeared. What surprised Alan was that his arrow didn't kill the level fifteen shield warrior.
Shield warriors, even if they put all their points into health before changing classes, would only have about 1,500 health at level fifteen. In other words, this shield warrior had external factors providing him with over 14,000 health.
The shield warrior was equally shocked.
He had undertaken a hidden quest back in the newbie village and obtained himself a special skill, Wild Growth.
His health received an additional ten percent boost, and with each level up, his health increased by 100 points.
Combined with his level fifteen defensive gear, he had nearly 16,000 health.
But Alan's arrow had almost claimed his life.
SnowflakeChaser's xpression darkened, but she didn't pay too much attention.
"Go all out, chain control, and control him to death!"
They had over a hundred players.
If each player controlled Alan for 0.5 seconds, the cumulative control duration would be over 50 seconds.
Such a long control time, no matter how high Alan's health was, would be enough to control him to death.
The battle erupted instantly.
The first to act were not the combat classes but the priests!
The priest players waved their staffs, and a pillar of silence fell.
If hit, it would briefly apply a silence debuff, preventing skill use.
As for the duration of the silence, it depended on the skill's level, the target's resilience, and any special equipment for control removal or buffs they might possess.
Still, such an attack was too slow for Alan. With a slight movement, he dodged the silence pillar.
As Alan repositioned, a warrior charged at him with a Wild Charge.
The warrior was accustomed to using combo moves—wild Charge, followed by Taunt, and then Fragile Strike.
But...
With one arrow, the warrior charging halfway fell.
"Ranged support," SnowflakeChaser ordered. She also waved her golden staff, summoning six goblins wielding spiked clubs.
Six level ten iron bosses, each with over 100,000 health.
At this stage, using them to fight monsters was definitely strong.
But using them against Alan was akin to a futile playtime.
Control skills from the ranged classes started flying towards Alan.
At the same time, the six iron bosses charged, with warrior players following behind.
This approach was generally sound.
Ranged classes provided cover, iron bosses tanked damage, and warriors followed up.
But the critical condition was that their skills must land on Alan, and the iron bosses had to withstand Alan's attacks.
Next, Alan demonstrated to SnowflakeChaser what it meant to dance on the edge of a knife.
Despite the numerous ranged skills from the elite team, not a single one hit Alan; all dodged through his movements.
Five arrows shot simultaneously.
Alan's arrows continuously whizzed through the air, and in less than two seconds, all six iron bosses were down.
Lightning Leap combined with misaligned attacks maximized Alan's attack efficiency.
Effective attack power.
At this stage, most players hadn't realized this, often resulting in ineffective attacks.
For instance, if Alan didn't use misaligned attacks, it would take him at least two seconds to kill the six iron bosses.
But now, it was shortened by nearly 0.5 seconds.
Don't underestimate this 0.5 seconds.
With Alan's current attack speed, he could land two more normal attacks within this interval.
With five arrows shot simultaneously,
he could deal over 100,000 more damage.
And it was these 0.5 seconds that allowed Alan to take down all the warriors behind the six iron bosses.
High output combined with Lightning Leap's damage was terrifying.
"Retreat!"
SnowflakeChaser was dumbfounded.
She had expected Alan to be strong, but never could she have envisioned him to be this overwhelmingly potent.
"Thinking of running now, isn't it a bit too late?"
At this stage, Alan's movement speed was unmatched among players.
Therefore, Alan only needed to keep moving and attacking, and the members of the Dream Pursuit Guild started falling rapidly.
The ranged classes in the back couldn't withstand even one of Alan's arrows, let alone the damage from Alan's Lightning Leap.
In just a few seconds, all the members of the Dream Pursuit Guild had been incapacitated.
Lindataria.
Resurrection Altar.
"Holy crap, what did I just see? The Dream Pursuit Guild members are reviving en masse."
"Look at their levels; they're all elite members of the Dream Pursuit Guild. What did they do to deserve this? Even their elite team got wiped out."
"Look, it's SnowflakeChaser. She revived too. Did they try to take on a level twenty-five boss?"
Many players noticed the mass revival of the Dream Pursuit Guild members.
In the distance, spies from various other guilds immediately reported the information.
"Leader, our assessment was correct. Ice King is very strong. SnowflakeChaser and her team were all dispatched back to the resurrection altar."
