Chapter 223 The Flying Mount is Fast

SnowflakeChaser smiled at Alan. "Ice King, you also took Ambrose's mission, right?"

Ambrose laughed from the side. "It's great that you two know each other. Let's work together and quickly take down the two-headed blood-striped crocodile."

Alan nodded; his gut told him something was off.

SnowflakeChaser had arrived with the merchant fleet's big ship, clearly wielding some influence. This meant she'd been in the chaotic land for a while, establishing a solid foundation and successfully comprehending the true meaning early on.

Alan speculated she was on a high-level chain quest. In his past life, SnowflakeChaser had a reputation for extraordinary luck, whether farming monsters, triggering hidden quests, or other activities.

She wasn't the second to comprehend the true meaning before, and the first wasn't Thomas either. Thomas's early entry made sense due to Alan's financial backing, but SnowflakeChaser's change in trajectory could only be because of Alan's actions, just like Michael.

In Ragnarok, everyone had their own opportunities, and Alan didn't intend to pry into SnowflakeChaser's. However, she better not target him.

SnowflakeChaser hesitated, then said, "I have something I want to say to Ice King alone. Would you agree?"

Alan lightly tapped his longbow with his fingers and didn't refuse, walking to a corner. "What is it?"

"Add me as a friend. There are some things I can't say in front of Ambrose."

SnowflakeChaser sent a friend request.

To find his sister, Alan had already opened his friend requests to everyone.

After a brief thought, Alan chose to accept.

Once accepted, SnowflakeChaser immediately sent a message: [I'm on a quest. I know you want the pre-quest scroll for the Blessing of the Gods. The island master of Siren's Slumber Isle has it, and I can get it. How about we cooperate?]

Alan didn't agree immediately: [Let's negotiate when you get it.]

Then, Alan rejoined the team.

Ambrose half-jokingly said, "You two really are a good match."

"Ambrose, stop playing matchmaker. It's about time we set off." Alan urged.

SnowflakeChaser also chimed in, "It's best for everyone if we quickly deal with the two-headed blood-striped crocodile."

Ambrose nodded. "Alright, let's go."

Alan mounted his Flame Turkey King. Although it wasn't necessary, he did it anyway.

After all, if he could ride a mount, there was no need to walk.

Then, SnowflakeChaser summoned her mount, a giant-winged purple bird.

"Ice King, why don't you ride my mount? It can carry a few people without any problem and is much faster."

Alan's mouth twitched. She really wanted to piss him off.

Alan muttered, "I shouldn't have summoned my mount."

Alan shook his head. What should he do now?

Not riding the Flame Turkey King seemed even more embarrassing.

After a brief hesitation, Alan made a decision.

"I'll stick with my mount. It's more comfortable. Ambrose, just mark the location for me."

Saying this, Alan opened the map.

Ambrose hesitated but eventually marked the location on Alan's map.

"We'll wait for you there."

Ambrose thought Alan was being stubborn since the giant-winged purple bird was obviously faster than the Flame Turkey King. But Alan insisted, so Ambrose held his tongue.

After they parted ways, Alan took out the Royal Portal and stepped through, arriving on a silver-white beach where mutated king crabs scuttled about. The spot Ambrose marked was pretty close.

Alan rode the Flame Turkey King a short distance and reached the location.

On the giant-winged purple bird. Ambrose shook his head helplessly. "Ice King is powerful, but he still has a bit of a childish streak."

"I didn't expect him to be so immature." SnowflakeChaser shook her head. To her, Alan stubbornly riding the Flame Turkey King was childish behavior.

She said, "We should be there in about five minutes. He probably just left the city."

Alan sat on the beach, bored, and decided to roast a few crab legs dropped by the mutated king crabs. They were edible, just a snack for now.

As the crab legs were nearly done, the giant-winged purple bird landed. SnowflakeChaser, Ambrose, and the others dismounted.

The scene dumbfounded them before them: Alan casually eating freshly roasted crab legs by the fire.

They had flown in a straight line, and Alan, riding the Flame Turkey King, couldn't have been faster than them.

And he seemed to have arrived much earlier.

Alan had no intention of explaining.

He stood up with the roasted crab legs, took a delicious bite, and said, "You're finally here. Let's get started."

Ambrose smiled awkwardly, "Alright, let's get started. This mission is dangerous, and we couldn't find a suitable priest. During the battle, we must be extremely careful."

Ambrose's expression turned serious.

"The two-headed blood-striped crocodile is a four-time job change gold-level sea beast, amphibious, and extremely powerful in combat. If it bites you, it can cause severe bleeding that's hard to heal."

Alan wasn't impatient. Sometimes, understanding his opponent wasn't a bad thing.

In his previous life, he had seen many powerful individuals fall because they underestimated their opponents.

He thought, 'You never know if your opponent likes to ambush or has hidden tricks. They might pull off a David vs. Goliath and use you as a stepping stone to their fame.'

"Let's not talk too much. Everyone cooperates in battle. We'll draw the fire, and you guys go all out."
