Chapter 269 The Woman Fought Over by Gods

Alan couldn't help but roll his eyes. "How much longer can Darius hang in there?"

"Maybe three months tops, but the longer we wait, the slimmer his chances. Ideally, we need to find someone to treat him within a month." Leif looked pretty down, like he already knew how this was gonna end.

"A month? No biggie." Alan pulled out the Code of Life and Death and changed the name to Sea God.

Given the situation, he had three options.

First, he could kill Darius himself, put him on the Soul Gathering List, and bring him back to peak condition.

But that felt like a waste.

Once a spot on the Soul Gathering List was used, it was permanent. Using it on a nine-time job changer like Darius seemed like a bit of a waste to Alan.

Second, Leif suggested finding a nine-time job changer or even a demigod-level priest.

But Alan didn't know any demigod-level priests, so that was a no-go.

Third, kill Sea God!

Even though Sea God wasn't a priest, he had water attributes, and as a deity, his healing powers were even better than a demigod-level priest.

Even a pseudo-god-level priest might not compare to Sea God.

"I'll be back in a bit." Alan took a step, passed through the Royal Portal, and vanished.

He arrived at the old location of Starcity, looking for Billy.

But now, it had been replaced by an even grander city.

"Dragon Capital!" Alan muttered as he stepped into the city.

He needed to find Billy.

Even though his attack speed was over ninety and his health was over thirty million, already pretty strong, Alan didn't mind getting even stronger.

Killing a god? A little extra prep never hurt.

After entering Dragon Capital, Alan searched around but found nothing!

"Damn, that bitch Billy better not have bailed on me."

Alan felt a bit frustrated; Billy hadn't issued the task as a formal quest back then.

At the time, Alan didn't care much.

After all, it was a super-god-level hidden profession, so being a bit secretive was normal.

But now that he was back, not only did she not come out to meet him, he couldn't even find her.

Alan wandered around Dragon Capital, even trying his luck at several entertainment spots. But he found nothing.

'Billy, you better have a good reason for ghosting me. Otherwise, if I find you, don't blame me for being pissed!' Alan thought to himself.

He found a secluded spot, took a step, and appeared directly in the Sea God Temple.

The place was still called the Sea God Temple, but now there was a statue in the center, a tall statue of a woman.

"Sea Goddess?"

"Yep."

A familiar voice came, and soon Lysander walked over quickly.

"Feeling better?" Alan asked.

Lysander waved his hand, saying, "Don't even start. With a god possessing me, how could my body handle it? I'll see if I can fully recover after my seventh job change."

Alan was taken aback. "That bad."

"Yeah, if any god wants to possess you in the future, just say no. It's brutal," Lysander said.

Alan coughed twice and said, "I'm here to ask about Sea God. I remember your old weapon was a divine weapon from Sea God, right?"

"Yeah, and let me tell you, Sea Goddess's divine weapon was a pain to use, so I went to Sea God and got myself a trident." Lysander leaned in closer to Alan and lowered his voice.

Alan glanced at the Sea Goddess's statue. Talking like this right in front of her statue? Lysander had some guts.

"Sea God just handed it over?" Alan asked, surprised.

"Not exactly. He didn't want to, but I kept bugging him with my Sea Domain. My MP would run out, but I'd just recover and go at it again."

"He's in a sealed state, so it takes him forever to get his strength back," Lysander said.

Alan couldn't help but give a thumbs up. "Nice one."

"By the way, who did you give your pre-quest scroll for the Blessing of the Gods to?"

Alan knew those pre-quest scrolls for the Blessing of the Gods were never easy.

Lysander's pre-quest scroll for the Blessing of the Gods was probably still incomplete.

"Ice King, you're putting me in a tough spot. That person is Sea Goddess's chosen successor. I really can't spill the beans," Lysander said.

Alan was a bit surprised. "Sea Goddess picked a successor already? Isn't she gonna wait and see a bit more?"

"Actually, Sea Goddess is kinda frustrated. A bunch of her good sisters are competing with her for this successor," Lysander replied.

Alan's curiosity was piqued. What kind of person could make several deities compete for them? That was pretty rare.

After thinking for a moment, Alan said, "Forget it, since it's Sea Goddess's chosen successor, I'll let it slide. This time, I'm mainly here to ask about Sea God's strength."

Lysander replied, "In terms of combat power, he's definitely stronger than me, and his health bar is way higher. The key is his fast healing."

"You planning to mess with him? If so, you should get some heavy injury potions, the super-strong ones."

Lysander's words reminded Alan that he needed to stock up on heavy injury potions.

"You mess with him a lot, so you must have some heavy injury potions, right?" Alan asked.

Lysander grinned, pulling out a dark red potion from his pocket. "Given our friendship, I'll give you one. But it only lasts for fifteen minutes."

[Severe Injury Potion: God-given one-time item.]

[Effect: After use, your attacks will carry a 30% heavy injury effect, reduced to 3% when used on deities, lasting fifteen minutes.]

Alan was confused. "Reduced to 3% for deities, huh..."

Lysander said, "That's for peak deities. For a sealed deity like Sea God, it has a 15% to 25% heavy injury effect."

Alan looked at Lysander suspiciously, wondering if he was being played.

These NPCs didn't have a system to check if they were lying, so Alan felt a bit uneasy.

"Want to buy a few more bottles? Severe Injury Potion, effective even on deities, only one million gold coins per bottle, with good quality and fair price, no tricks."

Alan said, "Too expensive, one hundred thousand."

Lysander said, "Nine hundred thousand."

Alan said, "Two hundred thousand, really can't go higher."

"Alright, I won't rip you off, five hundred thousand gold coins. If not, forget it."

Alan said, "Deal, give me a hundred bottles."

Lysander was shocked.

He thought Alan was haggling because he was broke.

But now he realized, he was wrong. Alan was just loaded.
