Chapter 132 The Ancient Jinse Empire: Sunset Town!

Alan's arrows were fast and his angles tricky, but he still couldn't break through Isaac's nine-sword defense.

Isaac watched Alan calmly, not even bothering to attack, just observing him with a playful smirk.

It was like he was treating Alan as a joke.

Three minutes passed, and Alan still hadn't broken through.

During that time, over a dozen fire meteors triggered, but they didn't help.

Alan's attacks didn't cause any real damage to Isaac.

So, in those three minutes, he didn't gain any health points.

His super-god-level talent needed his attacks to damage a living entity to accumulate health points.

Alan stopped and frowned at Isaac.

Isaac smiled. He asked, "How's it going, kid? Your proud attacks can't even touch me."

Alan wasn't discouraged. He'd faced many strong opponents, and Isaac's swordsmanship was indeed top-notch.

But everything had a limit.

The nine-sword defense was tough, but the durability of his flying swords wasn't infinite.

Under powerful swordsmanship, the durability of the flying swords might decrease slowly.

But Alan's arrows had high true damage, and even for someone like Isaac, the durability of his flying swords was still dropping.

Alan attacked again, curious to see how long Isaac's flying swords would last.

"Still not giving up?" he remarked. Isaac's expression stayed the same, indifferent to Alan's attacks.

Alan's hundred arrows per second still couldn't break Isaac's defense.

And judging by the fire meteors' trigger rate, Isaac's luck attribute was probably much higher than his.

With a one percent chance, he could only trigger it three or four times a minute.

There might also be a level suppression.

In Ragnarok, there wasn't explicit level suppression damage, but Alan knew it existed.

It didn't show in attack and defense but appeared in probability and control suppression.

For example, a control skill might last one second, but if the enemy was ten levels higher, it might only last 0.5 seconds or less.

Similarly, probabilities were affected.

Alan's fire meteor trigger rate was one percent, but against a higher-level opponent, it might drop to 0.5 percent or lower.

This difference wasn't shown on the attribute panel.

Players figured out this suppression in the mid-game.

At first, everyone thought only the luck attribute affected probabilities.

But after many battles, they realized level suppression was a thing too.

Alan was now level fifty, close to his second job change.

Although Isaac had level suppression, it shouldn't be too extreme.

The upper limit in Stellaria was the second job change. While a few special individuals might break this limit, they were very rare.

After figuring this out, Alan wasn't discouraged and kept up his relentless attacks.

Moments later, Isaac smirked. He said, "Nice try, kid, thinking you can wear down my weapons to beat me."

With that, Isaac grinned wider. He exclaimed, "Let me show you what real despair looks like!"

Alan frowned, thinking, 'Is he about to use a killing move?'

Isaac raised his hand and shouted, "Sword, come!"

Suddenly, thousands of flying swords appeared in the sky, hovering menacingly.

Isaac looked at Alan mockingly. He remarked, "Do you really think your little tricks matter?"

Alan was stunned. He knew Isaac was strong, but not this strong.

"Remember, kid, there are many powerful people in this world," Isaac said.

Alan smiled wryly. He said, "I was being presumptuous. But what is this place? You don't seem like dungeon monsters."

If Isaac were a dungeon monster, almost no one could beat him.

Before Alan could achieve the second job change, no one could rival Isaac.

Alan had over six million health points and still couldn't scratch Isaac.

Unless he kept accumulating, even ten million wouldn't be enough. Maybe fifty million or a hundred million health points would make a difference.

"This is Sunset Town, a border town in the ancient Jinse Empire," Isaac replied.

"Jinse Empire? Border town?" Alan asked, surprised. "Are you the legendary hidden experts?"

Isaac shook his head with a bitter smile. He replied, "Our Sunset Town has a hidden expert, but it's not me. I'm just a minor practitioner, strong here but weak as an ant in the Jinse Empire."

"Is the Jinse Empire really that terrifying?" Alan gasped.

Isaac nodded. He explained, "In the Jinse Empire, there are countless strong people who can control laws and move mountains and seas."

Alan frowned, sensing Isaac wasn't lying.

If he wasn't lying, did that mean the strong people in the Jinse Empire were much stronger than those elsewhere?

"If that's the case, why is the Jinse Empire still dormant?" Alan asked.

Isaac squinted and shook his head. He replied, "I don't know. It's beyond my reach. Few people below the gods can explain it. The dormancy of the Jinse Empire is decided by the Gods, not something we mortals can influence."

Alan frowned. "Then this place is..."

"Recently, the power of the Hall of Glory's master began to revive, and our Sunset Town followed suit. But due to the irresistible trend, we can only hide in Lysandra's old residence," Isaac explained.

Alan was surprised. He remarked, "So you weren't originally here?"

"Yes," Isaac replied.

"Then where is Lysandra? I've been wanting to meet her since I released her," Alan asked.

Isaac shook his head. He suggested, "I don't know. Her old residence is ahead. If you want to see her, you may go forward and take a look. You might gain unexpected benefits."

Alan bowed. "Senior, I've always wanted to help the Jinse Empire revive. Could you help me?"

Isaac raised an eyebrow. He asked, "Are you looking for benefits?"
