Chapter 222 Mutant King Crab!
Matthew frowned. "We just got here, and the Ice King’s already pulling weird moves. He knows we’re here?"
"No way!"
Andrew shook his head, but it did seem too coincidental.
They had just landed in the Land of Chaos, and the Ice King struck again. It was definitely odd.
Oberon sneered. "Doesn’t matter why, the Ice King’s gotta go."
Back in Siren City, after seeing Dashiell off, Alan pulled out the Equipment Evolution Scroll. "Use."
[You used the Equipment Evolution Scroll on the Purification Amulet. Your Purification Amulet is evolving.]
[Congrats, your Purification Amulet has successfully evolved.]
Alan was secretly thrilled. The Purification Amulet's stats jumped from 91% to 92%.
"Keep pushing, just 8% more." Alan’s eyes were set on the prize. Once he hit full control immunity, he’d be unstoppable unless hit with absolute damage. Even then, he had three top-tier life-saving skills: Invincible Golden Body, Undying True Form, and A Withered Tree Springing to Life Again.
At 92% control immunity, he was already a beast. Only Dashiell, a platinum-level fighter with four job changes, was a slight threat. Everyone else? No chance.
In the Land of Chaos, Alan hadn’t run into the wild monsters yet, which were level 100 and perfect for stacking health points.
He opened the map and picked a spot.
"Alright, Mutant King Crab, you’re up."
Alan went for level 70 wild monsters, which were plenty and respawned fast. Given his current health, the difference between level 100 and level 70 wasn’t a big deal. He cared more about quantity and respawn speed.
Half an hour later, he finally spotted a group of King Crabs on a silver-white beach.
[Mutant King Crab: Level 70.]
[Health: 7959/7959.]
[Attack: 1385.]
[Skills: Dominance, Double Claw Strike, Tear, Corrosive Saltwater, Petrified Skin.]
For a common wild monster, having five skills was pretty rare.
With one arrow, he dealt 7959 damage.
The Mutant King Crab dropped, leaving behind some Copper Coins and a piece of common gear.
Alan said, "Not bad, first one dropped gear."
Even though the gear was useless to Alan, he picked it up and kept going.
The common Mutant King Crab had low health and attack power, making it easy and stress-free to farm.
Thanks to Lightning Leap and Fire Meteor, Alan quickly spawned an elite-level Mutant King Crab.
[Mutant King Crab (Elite): Level 70.]
[Health: 43960/43960.]
[Attack: 3018.]
[Skills: Dominance, Double Claw Strike, Tear, Corrosive Saltwater, Petrified Skin, Sand Escape.]
The elite-level Mutant King Crab was noticeably bigger than the common ones, with higher health, attack power, and an extra skill, Sand Escape.
Unfortunately, its health was still too low. One arrow, and it was down. If Lightning Leap triggered, a whole group would bite the dust.
Alan's damage was off the charts now. To stack health, he needed high-level dungeons with monsters that had high defense and health on hell difficulty; otherwise, they couldn't take his hits.
After a bit, Alan spawned a black iron-level Mutant King Crab.
[Mutant King Crab (Black Iron): Level 70.]
[Health: 929300/929300.]
[Attack: 12251.]
[Skills: Dominance, Double Claw Strike, Tear, Corrosive Saltwater, Petrified Skin, Sand Escape, Acid Rain, Deadly Charge, Super Armor, Rage.]
The black iron-level Mutant King Crab finally had better stats. But with Alan's current damage, even without a crit, one arrow dealt over 600,000 true damage. It could take at most two arrows. A crit meant one arrow was enough.
Frustrated, Alan realized he was naive to think it could take two hits. The black iron-level Mutant King Crab only added six health points, and with a crit, it was toast.
If it weren't for the Tome of Life and Death constantly helping Alan stack health, he would've been really annoyed.
This was just too much!
However, the black iron-level crab wasn't the Mutant King Crab King, meaning there were still bronze-level or even silver-level ones out there.
Undeterred, Alan kept farming.
After about fifteen minutes, the bronze-level Mutant King Crab Alan had been waiting for finally showed up.
[Mutant King Crab (Bronze): Level 70.]
[Health: 4599120/4599120.]
[Attack: 27980.]
[Skills: Dominance, Double Claw Strike, Explosive Sand Tear, Corrosive Saltwater, Petrified Skin, Sand Escape, Acid Rain, Deadly Triple Slash, Corrosive Quicksand, Rage, Super Armor.]
Now the situation was becoming truly intriguing.
With over four million health, the bronze-level Mutant King Crab seemed like it could take a few more of Alan's hits.
The first arrow's damage of 662580 instantly dropped the bronze-level crab's health bar.
This time, luck was on Alan's side. Several arrows in a row didn't trigger a crit, and it took seven arrows to take down the bronze-level Mutant King Crab, adding twenty-one health points for Alan.
This made Alan speechless!
The Tome of Life and Death was still the best. Even with the Heart of God's Retribution awakened, comfortably stacking health without enough health points would be unrealistic. All he could do was thank the great Gaia.
If the next God's Blessing could grant another piece of gear that continuously drained health, that would be awesome. But for now, that was almost impossible.
For the rest of the time, Alan stayed there farming monsters to stack health points, adding as much as he could.
The next morning, Alan returned to Siren City.
In front of Siren Citadel, Ambrose was already waiting, along with a mage, an archer, and a shield warrior. Alan discerned that the mage was a familiar figure.
"SnowflakeChaser."
