Chapter 229 Sea God Temple: Ronan Winters!
Lumi got the Sea Guard to clean up the mess and then personally took Alan to HQ.
The Sea God Temple was on Skysea Island.
It wasn’t too far from Sea God Island, and there were a lot of strong folks there.
From Alan's perspective, there were definitely some good things to be found.
So, he came here to snag some cool stuff.
Compared to other places, Alan figured it’d be easiest to score good loot at the Sea God Temple.
Why? Because he had the title of Son of the Sea. The big shots at the Sea God Temple, who worshipped the Sea God, saw this title as divine.
On the big ship of the Sea God Temple, Alan leaned by the window, soaking in the sea breeze while flipping through the Sea's True Meaning Secret Manual.
Two hours later, they finally hit Skysea Island.
Lumi said respectfully, "Sir, we've arrived."
She personally escorted Alan off the ship.
Skysea Island was a bit different from Siren's Slumber Isle, where the Siren Citadel was smack in the middle.
The Sea God Temple, though, was right by the sea, with the dock just off the ship and the grand, majestic temple ahead.
Alan followed Lumi through layers of guards and finally made it to the main hall of the Sea God Temple.
"Sir, please wait a moment. I've notified a few inner hall elders of our Sea God Temple."
Alan wasn’t surprised; NPCs had their own ways of communicating, so the heads-up was normal.
Outside the main hall, three people walked in.
The person in the center held a staff, wore golden gear, and had light blue hair, giving off a mature beauty vibe.
However, she exuded an aura that repelled strangers, which caught Alan off guard.
This woman was also a three-time job change gold-level.
But her level was way higher than Lumi's, already at level 195, just five levels short of the three-time job change cap.
On her left and right were a warrior and an archer, both gold-level three-time job change pros.
"A priest?" Alan was a bit surprised.
Since arriving in the Land of Chaos, he had observed that priests were a rather rare sight.
"Fifth Elder," Lumi said respectfully.
The blue-haired woman nodded slightly, her gaze landing on Alan. "I've heard about your situation from Lumi. Indeed, it was our people who messed up. What compensation do you want?"
Alan grinned. "I'm easy to please. Just give me a few equipment evolution scrolls."
The blue-haired woman thought for a moment before slowly saying, "A few is a no-go. How about one?"
Alan pretended to think it over; he didn’t expect them to actually give a few scrolls.
Alan said, "One is fine. After all, I'm pretty reasonable."
The blue-haired woman didn’t say much, just handed over an equipment evolution scroll.
Alan was about to grab it when a voice came from outside the hall.
"Hold on."
With the voice, a tall, slender, middle-aged man in golden armor walked in.
The blue-haired woman frowned slightly and saluted. "Mr. Winters."
Ronan coldly glanced at Alan and scolded, "The matter isn’t clear yet, and you're already compensating?"
"You think there's more to this?" the blue-haired woman asked.
Ronan nodded without a second thought. "Yeah, definitely a big deal. If this guy is really a Sea God believer and his stuff is legit, why would he still kill Seawise Elder to shut him up?"
The blue-haired woman was confused. "Shut him up?"
Ronan Winters' words were a heavy accusation against Alan.
Alan looked at Ronan with interest and chuckled. "Got any proof I silenced someone?"
"My word is proof!" Ronan said coldly. "Otherwise, how do you explain your insistence on killing Seawise Elder?"
"I don't owe you any explanations!" Alan said coolly.
Lumi tugged at Alan. "Sir, this is our Sea God Temple's four-time job change gold-level elder."
Alan shrugged; so what if he was a four-time job change gold-level?
Ronan said, "You killed our people and still want to extort us? You've got the wrong target."
Alan laughed. "So, no compensation then?"
"Absolutely not!" Ronan answered firmly. "Not only will we not compensate, but I also suspect you're an Evil God believer with ulterior motives for coming here."
Alan thought, 'An Evil God believer? Here we go again!'
Lumi quickly explained, "Mr. Winters, this guy has mastered the Sea's True Meaning Gravity Intermediate and has the Sea's True Meaning Secret Manual."
"Foolish!" Ronan scolded. "Having the Sea's True Meaning Secret Manual doesn't mean he believes in the Sea God. How can we trust someone hiding under a black robe? I know Seawise Elder; he must've seen the Silver Eye Chronicles, and this guy killed him to cover it up."
Alan sneered, making Ronan uncomfortable.
Ronan asked, "What are you laughing at?"
"I'm laughing because your brain is full of crap," Alan answered.
"You!" Ronan, enraged, scolded, "You Evil God believer, how dare you speak so arrogantly here."
With that, Ronan stepped forward, slashing at Alan with his sword, his momentum overwhelming.
Lumi couldn't bear to watch.
Although Ronan's attack hadn't yet collided with Alan's, she could already foresee the outcome.
"Stop!"
The blue-haired woman shouted, and a dark light fell on Ronan.
Ronan's speed instantly decreased.
At the same time, the warrior beside the blue-haired woman rushed up, blocking Ronan's attack with his sword.
"What do you mean by this?"
Ronan's cold gaze fell on the blue-haired woman.
The blue-haired woman said, "Our Sea God Temple is a place of reason. Mr. Winters should clarify the matter first."
Ronan sneered. "Are you questioning my judgment too?"
The blue-haired woman said seriously, "According to your theory, what is this guy's motive? If he just wanted to enter the Sea God Temple, he didn't need to show the Sea's True Meaning Secret Manual or The Silver Eye Chronicles. He only needed to display his Sea's True Meaning."
A cold glint flashed in Ronan Winters' eyes. He wasn't stupid; he was just like Seawise Elder, being greedy.
He was a four-time job change gold-level, holding a significant position in the Sea God Temple.
But in the Land of Chaos, the true powerhouses were the four-time job change platinum-level.
To complete his life's transformation, he needed to master a complete True Meaning.
And the Sea's True Meaning was the best choice.
With his four-time job change gold-level strength, in the Land of Chaos, who could he not kill except for those three four-time job change platinum-level powerhouses?
