Chapter 276 Did I Allow You to Leave?
Leif had a gloomy expression. "If you wanna take down the Hall of Glory, you'll have to go through me first."
Ayla smirked, "Leif, still trying to act tough in front of me? Your old master was a legend, someone you might see once in a hundred thousand years. Do you really think your new master is that strong? And if he is, why hasn't he shown up yet?"
Alan's face darkened, ready to step in. Even if it meant revealing the Sea God, he wanted to put this woman in her place.
"We got this. No need for the master to step in." One by one, experts from the Hall of Glory appeared. Most of them were injured and looked pretty rough.
Alan recognized them as the remaining experts Leif had mentioned. Despite their injuries, they stood firm in front of the Hall of Glory, not backing down an inch.
'These guys have some serious loyalty,' Alan thought, feeling a bit relieved that the people he was taking over had good character. It was a small comfort. If he had taken over a completely disunited group, he would've been pretty pissed.
Ayla, seeing these people, laughed loudly. "So I was right. Your new master is a weakling, sending out these beaten-up soldiers. How can you defeated remnants stop me?" With that, her domain expanded. Ice and fire forces intertwined, unleashing a fierce impact.
The Hall of Glory folks weren't backing down, each expanding their own domain. Only those who had undergone seven or more job changes could do this, with just two people below seven job changes managing to pull it off.
"Alright! Mastering a domain before the seventh job change. You two are asking for it." Ayla's gaze locked onto the two younger ones with six job changes who had expanded their domains.
Normally, one could only master a domain after the seventh job change, unless they were a top-tier talent or had divine help, like Elowen and Kenneth, who were enslaved by Alan and had gods bestow domains upon them. But gods were high and mighty, and except in very rare cases, they wouldn't waste divine power on mortals.
"Ice and Fire Roulette!" Ayla raised her hands, and a roulette wheel made of ice and fire flew towards the Hall of Glory folks. They looked grim, each pushing their power to the limit.
"Come on! Even if we lose, we gotta make her pay," Leif roared. The other experts of the Hall of Glory were united, facing the attack together.
With a loud explosion, the Ice and Fire Roulette shattered on impact. Ayla, who had released the Ice and Fire Roulette, was sent flying, crashing heavily to the ground and spitting out a mouthful of blood.
She was in disbelief. She looked around and gritted her teeth. "How is this possible? Who's meddling from the shadows? Are you too afraid to show yourself?" Ayla knew there was no way these beaten-up soldiers from the Hall of Glory could block her Ice and Fire Roulette.
"Why!" A young girl's voice rang out, and then a figure descended from the sky, landing gracefully in front of the Hall of Glory experts.
"Who are you?" Ayla eyed the girl in the black dress warily.
The girl looked no older than twelve, but she gave Ayla a seriously dangerous vibe. "My dad is Bradley McDonald, and I'm Annabelle McDonald."
Hearing the name Bradley McDonald, the Crimson Blossom Demigod's face showed fear, and she immediately scanned the area cautiously.
"No need to be so jumpy. If my dad were here, no matter how careful you are, you'd still be dead," Annabelle sneered, "With me here, you can't touch the Hall of Glory."
"If your dad said that, I'd leave right away. But you're not qualified." The Crimson Blossom Demigod was wary of Annabelle's dad but didn't take Annabelle seriously.
"You only know my dad, but haven't you thought that I also inherited his bloodline?" Annabelle took a step forward, and a massive unicorn shadow appeared behind her. The unicorn was pitch black, radiating a suffocatingly powerful aura.
"Black Fire Unicorn!" The Crimson Blossom Demigod's expression turned grim, and Ayla's face got serious too.
"What? Still here? Do I have to show my true form and fight you?" Ayla looked at the Crimson Blossom Demigod, clearly waiting for her decision.
The Crimson Blossom Demigod gave Annabelle and the unicorn shadow behind her a meaningful look and said coldly, "Annabelle, can you protect the Hall of Glory forever?"
Annabelle was indifferent. "That's none of your business."
The Crimson Blossom Demigod snorted coldly, "We're leaving."
"Bastard! Wait for me. I'll be back." With that, the Crimson Blossom Demigod prepared to leave with Ayla and the others from Icefire Los Island.
The people of the Hall of Glory and Lachlan sighed in relief. If a fight broke out, they might face serious trouble. Now that they were leaving voluntarily, it was a good thing for the Hall of Glory.
But at that moment, a calm voice came from the direction of the Hall of Glory's main hall. "Leave? Did I say you could?" The main hall doors opened, and Alan strode out.Seeing Alan appear, Leif's heart tightened. He knew very well that Alan was just a rookie with one job change. He had no idea what Alan wanted to do. Leif was truly a bit panicked. If Alan said or did something wrong, it could ruin the hard-won stability of the current situation.
"Who are you?" Ayla asked with a frown.
Alan smiled slightly. "Didn't you just wanna see me?" He added, "I am the new master of the Hall of Glory you mentioned."
Ayla's heart tightened. Like Leif when he first saw Alan, she couldn't gauge Alan's depth. But she thought that Alan hadn't undergone many job changes.
"The new master of the Hall of Glory doesn't seem that impressive, just hiding in the shadows." Ayla's words were meant to provoke Alan, to make him reveal his strength to prove himself.
However, she was wrong. Alan didn't display his strength but said bluntly, "Ayla, right? The Hall of Glory is not a place you can come and go as you please!"
