Chapter 134 Protective Flying Sword!
"If the ancient Jinse Empire were to come back, it would be the first to face divine punishment. With the calamity approaching, the long-sleeping Jinse Empire might have a chance to survive," Lysandra said.
Alan shook his head. He disagreed, "Elder, you're wrong."
"The calamity you speak of, is it an invasion from extraterrestrial civilizations or suppression from other civilizations?" Alan asked.
Lysandra was a bit surprised. She remarked, "You know quite a lot. It may be both."
"Do you think that just because the Jinse Empire is in slumber, they won't make a move against it?" Alan asked again.
Lysandra fell silent.
Alan continued, "With the calamity approaching, we shouldn't be praying for others' mercy but muster all our strength to fight back. No matter the outcome, no regrets!"
"No regrets!" Lysandra murmured, a faint smile appearing on her face.
"Such noble words, but you're just doing it for your benefit. No need to make it sound so grand," Lysandra retorted.
Alan explained, "Benefit? Perhaps. Because I know I must become as strong as possible in dealing with future troubles. With power in your own hands, you have a say in things."
Lysandra smiled slightly and said, "Ice King, I like your attitude. But do you know what the Jinse Empire would face if it were to revive?"
"Stellaria?" Alan guessed.
Lysandra nodded. She explained, "Sort of, but Stellaria is just a small place, easily destroyed. The real trouble is the forces represented by other countries."
"The forces outside the Jinse Empire have been cultivating for years. They won't allow the Jinse Empire to revive," Lysandra added.
"So what? If a battle is inevitable, then let it be," Alan said.
Lysandra smiled noncommittally. She remarked, "You misread my point."
She continued, "You can still do well in Stellaria because the blessing of the Ice Goddess has deceived them."
She added, "But this deception won't last long. They will soon find out that you killed the remnant soul of the Ice Goddess and that you intend to revive the Jinse Empire."
She questioned him, "Then, what will they do to you?"
Alan squinted his eyes slightly. He answered, "It doesn't matter. If I were afraid, I wouldn't be here. I'd be grinding in some dungeon to increase my health points."
Lysandra laughed. She teased, "If you did that, you wouldn't have the strength you have today."
Alan shrugged. He replied, "Likewise, I wouldn't have today's troubles."
Lysandra nodded. "Ice King, you're quite interesting. I admire you. However, my experiences have made me wary of trusting anyone easily so that you won't get any benefits from me."
Hearing this, Alan didn't mind.
Alan dared to ask, "I don't need your help. However, I want to slay the gods. Do you know of any gods in a state similar to the Ice Goddess?"
Whether it was the Soul Gathering List or the Godslayer's Mark, slaying gods was necessary.
"Slay gods?" Lysandra was taken aback. She replied, "You have quite the ambition. There are gods in similar states, but you can't reach them now."
"I can reach them in the future," Alan said and smiled.
"The God of Slaughter, who achieved divinity through killing, once slew nine gods in pursuit of the highest realm and was eventually severely wounded and sealed by several god-kings," Lysandra said.
Alan's eyes lit up in excitement. He asked, "Where is he?"
"Lunar Empire, Blood Sea," Lysandra replied.
Alan raised an eyebrow in surprise. He was naturally familiar with the Lunar Empire.
After players completed their second job change, they could enter the next large map, which was the empire.
There were three empires; the Lunar Empire, the Vast Empire, and the Dawnlight Empire.
Players from all over the world, not just the Jinse Empire server, entered these three empires.
That's when the real player spectacle began.
Of course, that's also when frequent battles between players started.
Some countries had historical feuds in reality, and for the sake of peace, wars hadn't broken out.
But in the game, there were no such concerns.
Alan remembered.
In his previous life, during the national war, over ten million players participated, and the battles were indescribably fierce.
Alan recalled, 'In my previous life, I wasn't strong. In the national war, I was just an insignificant character. But in this life...'
Alan murmured to himself, his eyes gradually filled with a murderous intent.
"What are you thinking about?" Lysandra asked.
Alan smiled. He replied, "Nothing, just thinking about killing some people."
"Then kill them. Don't let it fester in your heart and trouble you," Lysandra comforted.
Alan refocused. He inquired, "But how do I clear this dungeon? Do I have to defeat you?"
"Originally, you just needed to find my old residence. But now that you've released me, seeing me counts as clearing it," Lysandra explained.
"I see." Alan checked, and sure enough, the dungeon was in a cleared state.
[Your team has cleared Lysandra's old residence. A server-wide announcement will be made. Do you wish to hide your name?]
"No," Alan refused.
[Server-wide announcement: Congratulations to players Ice King and Bold Snow for being the first to clear Lysandra's old residence. We hope all players will continue to strive.]
[You have received equipment +99.]
[You have received a skill book +62.]
[You have received free attribute points +100.]
[You have received...]
Alan received a large number of rewards at once, but he was quick to leave because he wanted to see what rewards Isaac could give him.
Alan informed, "Elder, I will take my leave now."
Alan had considered asking to bind Lysandra with the Bonding Red String, but he ultimately gave up.
Lysandra had just said she wouldn't give him any benefits.
So Alan didn't bother to ask.
Returning to Sunset Town, Isaac was drinking tea there.
Seeing Alan return, he smiled.
"Ice King, not bad. Lysandra actually let you clear the dungeon," Isaac said.
Alan was taken aback.
He had thought before that the real difficulty of this dungeon was Lysandra.
If Lysandra didn't want to come out, he wouldn't be able to clear the dungeon at all.
"Elder, what reward can I get?" Alan asked directly.
Isaac raised an eyebrow, flipped his hand, and a small flying sword, only as long as a finger, appeared in his palm.
Alan took the flying sword, and its attributes appeared before him.
[Protective Flying Sword: Gold.]
[Requirement: Level 50, all classes (does not occupy main weapon slot).]
[Effect: Once activated, it can automatically block attacks from its surroundings. Duration: one hour. Cooldown: two hours.]
[Durability: 100.]
Alan was a bit surprised. This was one of Isaac's nine-sword defense techniques. How many attacks could a single flying sword block?
In any case, it was an additional life-saving weapon that didn't occupy the main weapon slot. Alan could defend while attacking.
"Thank you, Elder," Alan said appreciatively and bowed respectfully.
