Chapter 256 Eulalia's Exit, The Battle of Domains Begins
The three domains popped up at the same time, each packing a punch of divine power.
Whoa, this was intense!
Even during the Cataclysm, Alan had never faced anything this strong.
Sure, there were plenty of experts with domains back then.
But domains with divine power? Those were rare.
Only divine envoys or divine slaves could juice up their domains with divine power.
These three were exactly that—two divine envoys and one divine slave.
"Three domains, huh? Not bad. With power like that, why bother with all the sneaky stuff? Why not just face me head-on?" Alan said.
Elowen shook her head. "Ice King, you took down the God of the Undead, so we have to be careful."
"We were planning to use some tricks to deal with you, send you off to the Vast Continent, and everyone would be happy."
"But who knew you were so sharp? Even with all of us trying to fool you, we couldn't."
Alan shrugged. "This is our Jinse Empire's land. It should be ours. You've had it long enough. Isn't it fair to give it back now?"
Oberon shook his head slowly. "Give it back? Ice King, how many benefits have you taken along the way? Have you ever given any back?"
"I was just doing tasks. Those were all task rewards. As an adventurer, is it wrong to do some tasks?" Alan shot back.
Kenneth waved his hand, his voice deep. The situation has reached this point, so what else is there to say?"
"Then let's fight. One side's gotta go," Alan said with a grin.
He glanced in another direction. "What about you, Eulalia? Still hiding?"
Eulalia sighed and stepped out from a dark corner of the Ashford Mansion.
"Didn't want it to come to this," she said, her clear eyes locking with Alan's.
She took off her black robe, revealing a face as stunning as a fairy from a painting. Her eyes were bright and black, and she had this strong scholarly vibe, like a well-read student.
"Didn't expect that under the black robe was a face like that."
Alan was a bit surprised. He had guessed Eulalia's identity but was still taken aback by her looks.
She was way more beautiful than those internet celebrities.
And the best part? Her beauty was natural.
"Ice King, how about we give you all the pre-quest scrolls for the Blessing of the Gods?"
Alan wasn't thrilled. "What do I need to give in return?"
"All the quest scrolls for one task: go to the Vast Continent and give up reviving the ancient Jinse Empire."
Eulalia's gentle voice was persuasive.
Alan raised an eyebrow. "You haven't hit the true meaning yet, just a scholarly vibe."
This scholarly vibe was kinda like Alan's Essence of the Sea, just at the true intent level.
"Ice King, what's your choice?" Eulalia's bright black eyes seemed to pierce right through Alan.
"What if I say no?" Alan shot back.
Eulalia sighed softly. "Ice King, why make this hard for both of us?"
"I refuse. What are you gonna do about it?" Alan stood his ground.
Eulalia gave him a long, meaningful look, then glanced at Elowen and the others. "I've tried to reason with him, but he won't listen. There's nothing more I can do."
She turned back to Alan. "I'm Eulalia, from one of the holy lands of the Vast Continent, the Palace of Infinity. If you ever come to the Vast Continent, you can find me. I really don't want to be your enemy. Goodbye."
Light flickered around Eulalia, and a beam of light descended from the sky. She started to disappear slowly. The whole process took about ten seconds.
Alan frowned. He had expected Eulalia to make a move. He wouldn't have been too surprised if she had unfolded another domain. But he didn't expect her to just leave like that.
"I told you this woman couldn't be trusted. She's from a holy land, a direct descendant. How could she really help us?" Oberon grumbled.
Kenneth's mouth twitched. "Unbelievable, someone from a holy land on a training mission wiped out our Stellaria."
"Enough," Elowen raised her hand. "Even without her help, we can still handle the Ice King."
Elowen looked at Alan. "Ice King, three domains with divine power— isn't that enough to convince you to go to the Vast Continent?"
Alan said, "I said, this is our land. If anyone has to leave, it's you."
Oberon spread his hands. "Elowen, this guy is stubborn. With people like him, you have to beat them into submission before they'll listen."
With that, Oberon charged at Alan. But before he could get close, Orlando blocked his way. A domain unfolded, similar to Elowen's.
"Elowen, what's going on?" Oberon didn't act rashly but looked at Elowen.
Elowen, clearly irritated, shouted, "Orlando is the former divine envoy of Mr. Silver-Eyed. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have had to go through so much to get Mr. Silver-Eyed's power."
Her voice grew more irritable. The other two were divine envoys, but she was a divine slave, and a wretched one at that!
Elowen said, "Leave him to me. You focus on the Ice King."
Elowen raised her hand towards Orlando, and the two similar domains collided instantly. Kenneth and Oberon were ready to strike at Alan any moment.
But just then, a hearty laugh echoed through the air.
"Haha, such excitement, how could I miss it?"
