Chapter 293 National Bounty, Night Hunt!
"Besides that, there's the Sky Patrol Division, which oversees the entire country."
Alan nodded, "What about non-governmental forces?"
"The non-governmental forces are dominated by three big families. Each of them used to have a god backing them, so they were major players. But for one reason or another, the gods bailed, and now each family's got a Grandmaster who's gone through nine job changes. Then there's the factions: Golden Gate, Heavenly Sword Sect, Sunset Peak, and Mist Rain Tower. These four used to be tied to the Hall of Glory. But, well, you know how things are with the Hall these days. Since you took over, they've probably been keeping their distance."
Alan frowned but did not delve into the issue.
These major sects are observing and waiting for the right moment, which is understandable from their perspective.
"What about the Cult of the Divine Sheep?" Alan asked, getting to the main point.
At the mention of the Cult of the Divine Sheep, Emperor Glenn's face darkened.
"The Cult of the Divine Sheep is one of the three major cults in the Mountain and Sea Empire, alongside the Hand of Malevolence and the Three Saints Society."
"The Cult of the Divine Sheep is made up of worshippers of Shub-Niggurath, the Black Goat of the Woods. Cthulhu doesn't have a foothold on the Vast Continent, and they've been itching to take over a holy land to spread their influence.
"As for the Three Saints Society, it's a front for the three holy lands—Icefire Los Island, Red Flower Sand Palace, and Western Extreme Temple—to infiltrate us.
"Then there's the Hand of Malevolence. They're a shadowy outfit with serious firepower and a top-notch intel network. They're in the business of selling secrets and taking out hits. They even brag that if the price is right, they could take down the Master of the Hall of Glory."
Alan's eyes narrowed slightly. It seemed that the Mountain and Sea Empire was not as simple as it appeared on the surface.
"How much do you know about the Cult of the Divine Sheep?"
Alan had learned from Lysander that the current leader of the Cult of the Divine Sheep was possessed by Silver-Eyed Nicholas.
If he could kill Silver-Eyed Nicholas, it would be another invincible card for Alan.
The Three Saints Society definitely couldn't be left alone.
As for the Hand of Malevolence, Alan had some ideas.
He wondered if it was possible to subdue the Hand of Malevolence and make it work for him.
"It hasn't been around that long. From what I've dug up over the years, they haven't tapped into any of the Black Goat's powers. It's mostly been Silver-Eyed Nicholas pulling the strings. As for their setup, it's under the radar. And both their leader and second-in-command have gone through nine job changes."
Alan pondered for a moment, "Alright, I understand."
After talking with Glenn, Alan immediately contacted Blade Warrior.
"Blade Warrior, I have two tasks for you, each with a reward of ten thousand free attribute points."
Blade Warrior was overjoyed. Ten thousand free attribute points were no small reward.
"What are the tasks?"
Alan directly issued the tasks to Blade Warrior.
First up, investigate the beast tide in Sunset Town. It's no accident—someone's pulling the strings. Find out who, and the payout is 10K free attribute points.
The fact that the task went through means Alan's offer wasn't over the top.
Second, track down members of the Cult of the Divine Sheep. Fifty free attribute points per head.
This one also went through, so Alan's reward was in the right ballpark.
As the Hall Master, Alan had to consider how to distribute the rewards he had.
One million free attribute points, even with a ten percent commission, would still be one hundred thousand free attribute points.
The most crucial point was that distributing so many free attribute points would significantly enhance the overall level of players in the Jinse Empire.
"Holy crap! Ice King, the task prompt says you issued it. Can you dish out missions now?" Blade Warrior was floored.
Alan smirked. "You must've heard by now. I'm the Master of the Hall of Glory. Handing out tasks is not kind of a big deal."
Hearing this, Blade Warrior became a bit excited, "Then, Ice King, can you issue more tasks? We have a lot of people, and we are never short of people to do tasks."
"Then investigate the Three Saints Society and the Hand of Malevolence."
Alan had considered asking Lysander, but then how would he distribute these rewards?
Moreover, with just over two months until the Holy Land Newcomer Genius Tournament, Alan needed to help his subordinates improve as much as possible.
So, he issued tasks to Little Sword, Melee Mage, and One Arrow Skyward.
As for Michael, Alan couldn't contact him, so he naturally couldn't give him any tasks.
Currently, Alan's friend list included Walter Parker, Tranquil Zen Master, and others.
Without hesitation, he issued tasks to all of them.
Entering the chat group, Alan began issuing tasks again.
Distributing so many free attribute points reasonably was quite a hassle.
Suddenly, Alan thought of a possibility.
Bounties!
He could directly issue bounties.
Daytime monster hunting bounties might be useless because people would hunt monsters even without bounties.
Since daytime wouldn't work, he would do it at night.
"National bounty: At nightfall, Sunset Town will be attacked by wild monsters. A bounty is issued for killing wild monsters of no lower level than oneself at night, with free attribute points as rewards. This is a public notice, encouraging all players to leave the town and hunt wild monsters."
As for the free attribute points for the bounty, it would be five points for ordinary monsters, twenty for elite, one hundred for black iron, five hundred for bronze, one thousand for silver, and two thousand for gold!
Alan allocated eighty thousand free attribute points for the bounty.
The remaining twenty thousand free attribute points were reserved for Robert, Blade Warrior, and Little Sword.
With the issuance of this bounty, players in the Mountain and Sea Empire were thrilled.
These free attribute points were almost like free gifts.
At this stage, most ordinary players had elite-level equipment, and some even had one or two pieces of black iron-level equipment.
And that was just for ordinary players.
For high-level players, they had bronze equipment, and even silver-level equipment. Even in the dark, killing ordinary monsters was not a problem.
However, grinding regular monsters at night was a slog. Low XP, garbage drops, and just plain inefficient.
So, naturally, most people avoided it.
But with this bounty? They were all over it, ready to go.
In the wild.
Bobby Owens, who was wandering aimlessly, heard the prompt and became excited.
He was already in the wild and hadn't returned to town for a long time.
His talent was an accumulation-type talent called "Free and Unfettered." As long as he stayed in the wild for an hour, he could gain ten free attribute points.
If he stayed for twenty-four hours, he would gain an additional sixty free attribute points.
Bobby's talent was very strong, so he usually wandered at night. When this task was issued, he became excited looking at the wild monsters in front of him.
"Savage Charge!"
