Chapter 145 Thunderclap Thrust!
Andrew sneered, "Nice try, but raw power beats skill any day."
In a flash, Andrew was behind Alan, aiming his spear at the back of Alan's head.
Weak point attack!
If this hit, Alan would lose a ton of health points.
Andrew wasn't much faster than Alan, but the advantage of a melee class over an archer was clear.
Alan had no way to dodge.
Ragnarok was all about team combat.
Priests, offensive mages, control mages, formation mages, shield warriors, berserkers, knights, summoners, burst archers, and utility archers made up the ten essential classes for a team.
Usually, you needed two priests and two shield warriors, so teams were generally twelve people.
Most Ragnarok dungeons capped team size at twelve.
Assassins? They didn't fit in teams!
Sure, assassins had high burst damage, but in team dungeons, their sustained damage sucked, they couldn't share damage, and their attack range was short. They often died after one burst.
Bringing an assassin was worse than bringing another mage or priest. A well-developed mage's damage was just as good as an assassin's, and their attacks were ranged, so they were less likely to get killed instantly.
Alan was strong.
He hadn't really teamed up with anyone.
Teaming up with Walter Parker didn't count; that was just to help Walter level up.
Now, Alan's weakness in solo combat was showing.
Facing a powerful warrior like Andrew was tough.
This was why he wanted to train Robert and James.
No matter how strong you are, you still have weaknesses.
If someone could hold off Andrew, Alan could kill him in a minute.
But for now, Alan was on his own.
[Critical hit!]
[-319,850!!]
Another huge damage number popped up, and Alan's health took a big hit.
Without hesitation, Alan spent 185 free attribute points to boost his movement speed to 20.
With a movement speed of 20, Alan was now as fast as Andrew.
Andrew's face changed. He muttered, "How is he so fast?"
He was shocked.
Andrew remarked, "Level 50, how can he be this fast?!"
Alan was level 50, but he had thousands of free attribute points.
But Alan wasn't satisfied with a movement speed of 20, because he was only as fast as Andrew, maybe even slower.
So, he spent another 400 free attribute points to boost his movement speed to 30!
Don't ask why.
He just had plenty of free attribute points, so it didn't matter!
Alan spent 585 free attribute points, which was like leveling up 117 times.
And even after spending so many points, Alan still had 2,300 left.
Alan even thought about spending another 2,000 points to boost his attack speed to 30.
After thinking it over, Alan decided against it for now.
An attack speed of 20 was already enough. What he lacked now wasn't damage or attack speed.
As long as he had room to attack, Alan could take down Andrew in a minute, no problem.
What he needed was a front line assistance to hold off opponents.
In that regard, James was perfect.
James's attributes made him a solid front liner.
Of course, once Alan's movement speed hit 30, Andrew couldn't keep up.
Andrew complained, "This is just insane."
Andrew's speed wasn't his best stat, but he never thought he'd struggle to catch a level 50 adventurer.
Andrew commanded, "Wind Wings!"
Andrew launched himself off the ground, speeding up to catch Alan.
Alan smirked. He now understood the value of movement speed.
In his past life, he didn't have the talent to focus on speed, so it was never high.
But now, with his speed suddenly boosted, Alan felt like he could dodge basic attacks with ease.
Especially since he had just managed to put some distance between himself and Andrew, which was pretty amazing.
"If speed is this useful, let's add more!" Alan spent another 800 free attribute points on movement speed, making his speed almost equal to Andrew's even in flight.
Andrew questioned, "How is this possible? How can this guy be so fast?"
Alan glanced back at Andrew and grinned. He taunted, "Flying fast, but I can still get faster."
Alan spent another 800 free attribute points, boosting his speed to 45.
He still had 780 free attribute points left.
Now, even in flight, Andrew couldn't match Alan's speed.
Andrew complained, "Damn it! Stop running."
Andrew roared, "Shadowstorm Stab!"
Alan's eyes narrowed. A targeted skill.
Andrew turned into a shadow and appeared in front of Alan in a flash.
[Stab!]
[-358,214!!]
A huge damage number popped up, and Alan quickly pulled away.
Andrew was getting frustrated. Alan's speed was too much, and even with Wind Wings, he couldn't catch up.
He had just used a targeted charge skill to close the gap, but Alan had already pulled away again.
Most importantly, while running, Alan's arrows were still taking out city guards.
Alan mumbled to himself, "So this is what high speed feels like."
Alan felt like a lightning bolt zipping across the battlefield. No matter how strong the others were, it didn't matter because no one could touch him!
Alan's mood lifted.
This kind of speed was incredible!
Andrew was red with anger in the face. He felt like a dog being led on a leash.
And Alan was the one holding the leash!
No matter how fast Andrew ran, he couldn't catch up to Alan.
"This is infuriating. I won't rest until I kill you!" Andrew vowed as he stopped running and stood still, pointing his spear at the sky.
Andrew yelled, "Thunderclap Thrust!"
With that, Andrew shot into the sky and then turned into a stream of light, crashing towards Alan.
A huge sense of danger surged in Alan's heart, and his eyes narrowed.
Alan shouted, "Invincible Golden Body!"
At the critical moment, Alan used Invincible Golden Body.
Andrew cursed, "Die!"
Andrew's face twisted with a grin. He didn't believe Alan could survive his ultimate move.
[-Immune!]
A simple word appeared above Alan's head.
