Chapter 163 Negotiation: The Game Between Each Other!
King Leona wanted to be isolate him alone.
For now, to take on Stellaria, he had to rely on the Nightwalker army.
If he defeated them now, earning their trust again would be nearly impossible.
Alan chuckled and shook his head. He said, "I kept my promise to Princess Leona, helped her become king of Stellaria, and I haven't even gotten my reward yet. Now she wants my help again?"
Princess Ashley frowned. She retorted, "That promise was voided long ago."
Alan shot back, "No way. I worked my butt off to help her become king, and now she wants to back out."
Princess Ashley frowned deeper. She explained, "Honoring you as the War God of Stellaria needs a reason. Taking back the three cities occupied by the Nightwalkers is a good one!"
"No." Alan shook his head in disagreement. He said, "The original deal didn't have any extra conditions."
Princess Ashley thought for a moment. She replied, "Honoring you as the War God is off the table. Let's discuss something else."
Alan said, "A dignified ruler, playing tricks like this? If that's the case, I might as well help the Nightwalkers attack Stellaria to vent my anger."
Princess Ashley's eyes turned cold, and she gritted her teeth. She said angrily, "Ice King, you don't deserve War God honors right now. Value the benefits being offered to you."
"Since we're at this point, just give me ten God-level Talent Awakening Stones," Alan said.
"Ten?" Princess Ashley almost laughed out of anger. She scoffed, "Not even one."
"Princess Ashley, you didn't come here today to negotiate seriously, did you?" Alan said as he squinted and took out the Ninefold Longbow.
It wasn't the Netherworld Longbow because Alan was worried Princess Ashley might have some special means. If the Netherworld Longbow was destroyed, he'd be in trouble.
Alan said, "Killing you and taking some spoils will be my interest."
Princess Ashley squinted her eyes, realizing Alan wasn't joking. She questioned, "Kill me? Have you thought about the consequences?"
Alan shrugged. He simply replied, "Princess Ashley, you know me. I don't care about the consequences of killing a princess."
Princess Ashley's face turned dark. She said impatiently, "Ice King, I came here today to negotiate seriously."
"Then why did you say not even one God-level Talent Awakening Stone?" Alan asked.
"Indeed, but other things can be considered." Princess Ashley thought for a moment. She said, "For example, the Flower of Talent Evolution."
Alan's eyes lit up, but he said casually, "If that's the case, then give me ten Flowers of Talent Evolution."
Princess Ashley's mouth twitched, and she raised one finger. She bargained, "One."
"No, Ashley, that's a bit stingy. My original agreement with Princess Leona was to honor me as the War God of Stellaria and enjoy the power of faith," Alan said.
Alan insisted, "One Flower of Talent Evolution is not appropriate."
Princess Ashley's face darkened. She had indeed underestimated Alan's thick skin. She negotiated, "One God-level Talent Awakening Stone, plus two Flowers of Talent Evolution."
Alan nodded in agreement. He replied, "Alright, I'll reluctantly accept that."
Ashley said, "After you defeat the Nightwalkers, these things will be your reward."
"Get lost!" Alan was really annoyed. He complained, "I should have known that negotiating with you is impossible. In that case, I'll just help the Nightwalkers destroy Stellaria. I'm sure the Nightwalkers will be very willing to reward me."
"Ice King!" Princess Ashley shouted angrily. "Do you really think that with you, those lowly Nightwalkers can defeat us?"
She added, "The new king is powerful and destined to lead Stellaria to greatness. She's giving you a chance."
"If this is the chance, I don't want it," Alan stated as he raised his hand, and arrows rained down.
As the arrows sliced through the air, Princess Ashley retreated, creating ice walls to block them.
But it was useless. Her ice walls shattered layer by layer in an instant.
"Ice King!" Princess Ashley shouted angrily. "Let's renegotiate the reward."
A barely noticeable smile appeared on Alan's lips. He demanded, "That's more like it. Stop testing each other. Tell me everything you can offer at once."
Princess Ashley took a deep breath. She offered, "One God-level Talent Awakening Stone, five Master-level Talent Awakening Stones, three Flowers of Talent Evolution, and one Eternal Scroll."
"But the condition is that you must defeat the Nightwalkers and kill at least one of their leaders," Ashley added.
Alan frowned slightly. He was actually tempted by these things.
The rewards he mentioned earlier were just for better negotiation.
Alan replied, "That's not enough."
Ashley shouted, "Ice King, what more do you want?"
Alan smiled. He stated, "I need the help of three people. You must give each of them a thousand free attribute points. Additionally, I need the dungeon key for the Footsteps of the Snow Corpse and a pre-quest scroll for the Blessing of the Gods."
Farming the Blackwater Lake Dragon Turtle dungeon was giving Alan less and less health. Only a dungeon like the Footsteps of the Snow Corpse could help Alan stack health faster.
He had calculated it.
A node could have up to twenty-seven ice-type bosses. He only needed to attack five of them each time.
After attacking these five until they reached a low health, he would switch targets and attack other bosses. Then, the five low-health ones could quickly heal themselves using the characteristics of the Snow Corpse's relic.
This way, he could stack more health.
As for the free attribute points, they were to help Robert, Michael, and James.
Ashley replied, "Three thousand free attribute points can be negotiated, but the dungeon key for the Footsteps of the Snow Corpse and the pre-quest scroll for the Blessing of the Gods need to be reported to the new king."
Alan said, "Okay."
Princess Ashley took out a communication talisman and returned to Alan after a while. She informed, "Three thousand free attribute points are not a problem, but the other two items are not possible."
She added, "The new king said if you don't agree, then forget it. She told me to use the teleportation talisman to return immediately."
Alan squinted his eyes. Leona really liked to manipulate him. He declared, "Fine, then tell your new king we'll see each other on the battlefield!"
Princess Ashley's pupils contracted. She originally thought that even without the key and the pre-quest scroll, Alan would still agree.
Because the rewards this time were already very generous. She really didn't know what reason Alan had to refuse.
"Fine, then we'll see each other on the battlefield," Princess Ashley said coldly and turned to leave.
But after turning around, Alan didn't call her back.
She finally couldn't help but look back. She informed, "Ice King, fine, the dungeon key for the Footsteps of the Snow Corpse can be given to you, but the pre-quest scroll for the Blessing of the Gods is absolutely impossible. If you don't agree, then we'll really see each other on the battlefield."
