Chapter 213 Siren's Slumber Isle Map!
Two days later, Alan started feeling something off in his body.
The true essence of the sea had reached the mid-gravity stage far sooner than he had anticipated.
Maybe it was because he was drifting on the sea.
Alan might have had a grasp on true essence in his past life, but not the sea's essence. So, he was making fast progress.
With the mid-gravity stage, Alan felt like he could make the boat sail faster by controlling the seawater.
He focused on the ocean's power, and the seawater started helping, speeding up the boat.
The boatman was shocked.
He noticed it was easier to row, like some invisible force was pushing the boat.
"Great Sea God, please protect your faithful follower," he prayed. As an experienced sailor, he knew strange things could mean danger.
So, he rowed harder, wanting to get out of there fast.
Two hours later, a tiny island showed up ahead, looking like a sesame seed.
Of course, it wasn't that small; it just looked far away.
When they reached Siren's Slumber Isle, Alan saw it was bigger than he thought.
There were a bunch of trading ships around.
Alan also spotted the cargo ship SnowflakeChaser had boarded earlier.
Her destination was also Siren's Slumber Isle.
He had no clue why she was there.
In his past life, as a small-time game currency collector, he couldn't team up with SnowflakeChaser or ask about her plans.
When the boat docked, the boatman respectfully helped Alan off.
Alan smiled at him, and the boatman quickly rowed away.
But as he moved his oar, he turned into an ice sculpture and shattered.
Leona, in her undead state, had acted.
Alan wouldn't show mercy to such a person.
If he weren't strong enough, he might be dead today.
For someone who wanted to kill him, Alan wouldn't be merciful.
This little incident didn't affect anyone else. Alan tossed the boatman's shattered ice pieces into the sea.
"Be a good person in your next life," Alan said, then got off the boat.
On Siren's Slumber Isle, Alan walked towards the busy area.
He didn't use a mount to avoid drawing attention.
First, he needed to understand the situation on the island.
"Master, I sensed a trace of that silver eye's residual aura," the God of the Undead's voice echoed in Alan's mind.
Alan's expression changed. Silver-Eyed Nicholas, the son of the Black Goat of the Woods, was once as strong as the God of the Undead at his peak. "It seems the boatman was right. This island isn't peaceful."
The God of the Undead reassured him, "Master, don't worry. Silver-Eyed Nicholas's aura is weak, probably like when I first fought you."
Alan nodded. It seemed Nicholas wasn't as strong as he thought.
Following the main road, Alan saw a small city.
"Seaside City." Alan entered. Most NPCs here were around level 30 to 40, with a few at level 50. He didn't know about those above level 50.
This place probably wasn't Alan's final destination.
Alan strolled into a general store and asked the owner, "Got a map of Siren's Slumber Isle?"
The owner replied, "Sure, you want a detailed one or just a general overview?"
"Detailed," Alan said without hesitation.
Since he wasn't short on gold coins, he didn't care about the price.
The owner said, "A detailed one will set you back a thousand gold coins."
Alan frowned. That was steep for a map.
The owner explained, "Sir, don't look so surprised. At Coastline Emporium, our prices are always clear."
He added, "The detailed map shows towns, family forces, wild monsters, docks, and frequently appearing sea monsters around Siren's Slumber Isle. Our people explored all this bit by bit."
Alan placed a thousand gold coins on the counter. "I'll take one."
The assistant handed him a map.
Alan glanced at it. It was indeed very detailed.
He then placed another five hundred gold coins on the counter. " I've heard there are demons on Siren's Slumber Isle. Is that true?"
The assistant calmly collected the coins and leaned in closer. "You've asked the right person. The proprietress went to visit relatives the night before last and saw a demon."
He added, "She said the demon had eyeballs all over its body. Just thinking about it gives me chills."
Alan pretended to be serious. "That sounds dangerous. How could there be demons here?"
"I don't know," the assistant said, leaning in closer and lowering his voice. "But there's a rumor it has something to do with our island's owner. Whether it's true or not, I don't know. But the owner hasn't shown up for a while."
Alan nodded. "So, where does the island's owner usually stay?"
"In Siren Citadel, the most central area of the island. It's full of powerful people, and no one can enter without the owner's decree," the assistant replied.
"Thanks," Alan said, about to leave.
The owner called out, "Sir, you seem wealthy, definitely important. Tonight, there's a big auction at the Siren Guild in Siren City. They're auctioning sea beast mounts and equipment evolution scrolls. If you go now, you should make it in time."
Alan's eyes lit up.
Sea beast mounts were rare. Equipment evolution scrolls were also valuable to him.
"Thanks," Alan said, opening the map and heading towards Siren City on his Flame Turkey King.
The silver-level Flame Turkey King drew a lot of attention from passersby.
As the sun set, Alan finally arrived at Siren City.
Of course, there was no night in the secondary area. Sunset was the limit.
The specific time had to be judged by the game time.
After entering Siren City, Alan took a look.
The Siren Citadel, where the island's owner resided, was right in the center of the city.
After the auction, he could go directly to Siren Citadel.
Meanwhile, a carriage sped towards him from the front.
"Move aside," the coachman shouted, whipping passersby who couldn't dodge in time.
