Chapter 225 The Distribution of Forces in the Land of Chaos!
Old Burke stepped up, his heavy shield crashing down on the two-headed blood-scaled crocodile.
"Super Armor."
"Rage."
"Triple Shield of the Tide!"
Burke was going all out, trying to buy Alan some time. With Alan's damage, he could take down the croc in under four seconds.
The crocodile knew it was in trouble. Both heads opened their bloody mouths, one spewing frost and the other blood rays, both aimed at Alan.
Even though it attacked, the croc didn't stick around. It activated Super Armor and Rage, making a break for the sea.
"Flaming Lips!"
SnowflakeChaser's attack followed right after. Flaming Lips, a common mage control skill, hit the croc.
But with Super Armor on, the croc couldn't be controlled.
Alan had TideLock to hold it down, but he didn't use it. He sensed something fishy about this creature and thought killing it might not be the best move.
Sure enough, with Super Armor and Rage, the croc turned into a blur, knocking Ambrose aside and escaping into the sea.
"Damn it."
Ambrose cursed, at a loss for words.
Alan's insane damage output had scared the two-headed blood-scaled croc into a desperate escape.
But Ambrose didn't dare blame Alan now.
With Alan's recent DPS, he could kill him in a heartbeat!
Such a terrifying presence, he didn't dare mess with now.
"This croc is too sneaky."
Alan shook his head, pretending to be disappointed, while also trying to figure out why Ambrose wanted the croc dead.
SnowflakeChaser frowned. "The croc's too fast. With Super Armor on, we can't stop it."
Ambrose looked grim. "Ice King's damage is too high. After this, it probably won't show up for a long time."
Alan rolled his eyes. "High damage is a problem?"
Ambrose quickly waved his hand. "High damage isn't wrong, but we might need a different approach."
Alan said, "Well, there's nothing I can do. I can't swim, so fighting underwater is out. Besides, it seems even faster in the ocean."
Of course, Alan was lying.
He had the title of Son of the Sea and had mastered the true essence of the sea. His combat power underwater was even stronger.
But Alan didn't trust them, so he kept some of his abilities hidden.
Ambrose said, "Anyway, thanks for your help, Ice King. Even though we didn't kill the croc, I can still give you fifty free attribute points as a reward."
"Thanks a lot."
Alan's fifty new attribute points brought his total to 4150. Though he hadn't killed the croc, he planned to dig deeper.
He also needed to contact the two platinum-level powerhouses in the Land of Chaos, who had pre-quest scrolls for the Blessing of the Gods and possibly more valuable items.
First, Alan needed to get a grip on the power dynamics in the Land of Chaos, unlike Stellaria, where he already had the lowdown.
After Ambrose and the crew left, Alan used the Royal Portal and popped over to the Ashbourne family. Atticus had told them to treat Alan like a VIP.
Alan got straight to the point, "I need to understand the power structure in the Land of Chaos."
Atticus didn't bat an eye and replied, "In the Land of Chaos, the main players are eight gold-level forces with three job changes and three platinum-level forces with four job changes, based on their top fighters. There are also a few solo gold-level experts with three job changes, but they're rare."
Atticus broke down the power scene. The big dogs were the Ashford family, the Sinclair family, Sea God Temple, and Blood Crow Tower.
The first three had platinum-level powerhouses with four job changes.
Blood Crow Tower had two gold-level powerhouses with four job changes and a bunch with three, making it a bit stronger than the Sinclair and Ashford families but not as strong as Sea God Temple.
There were seven other forces with gold-level powerhouses with three job changes, down from nine since Alan wiped out the Rainfield family and the Sterling family head went MIA.
Plenty of silver-level and bronze-level forces with three job changes were around too.
The Land of Chaos had a stronger base than Stellaria, but internal beef kept them from uniting. Otherwise, they could've steamrolled Stellaria and maybe even taken on the Underworld.
"Sea God Temple, the Sinclair family, Blood Crow Tower."
Alan muttered, "Let's start with the Sinclair family."
He asked Atticus for a detailed map of the Land of Chaos.
With the map in hand, he hopped on the Flame Turkey King and set off.
The Sinclair family, an old and deep-rooted clan in the Land of Chaos, was set up by the sea, holding down a bay.
Alan rode the Flame Turkey King to their stronghold. As soon as he got there, the voice of the God of the Undead echoed in his mind.
"Master, I sense the presence of the two-headed blood-scaled crocodile."
Alan's eyes narrowed. Was the croc a pet of the Sinclair family?
Whether it was or not, Alan was set on finding out.
At the Sinclair family's entrance, a woman met him before he could speak.
"Ice King, the head has been expecting you."
Alan's eyes narrowed. Did the head of the Sinclair family know he was coming? Or did they just guess he would?
"Alright."
Alan followed the woman into the house.
The Sinclair family's place was huge, like a mini-city.
After passing through several buildings, the woman stopped in front of an old, small building.
"Ice King, he's waiting for you inside."
